I thought the original poster was talking about when Jim sold it. I didn't think it was anything recent. And, there is nothing libelous in this thread that I have read. Like others, I don't care who owns a hotel as long as it is good and done right. I have not stayed at any of the gay hotels in this area for 12 years. The only reason is when I tried, the Internet sucked and I could not get any good reception. This most likely has changed over the years and I'm willing to give them another chance but I don't care who owns the place. As for restaurants, I much prefer the one at the Ambiance to the others in the area. I really liked the manager there and the food is excellent. The Cafe Royale has great food as well so both of the food places I like. Perhaps on my next trip I'll give the Internet a try again as I am sure things have changed in 12 years.

Is the Ambiance the one above Copa? Or the one next to BoyzBoyzBoyz?

I have a good friend from Utah who has been offered a job working with Burapha University. She has been to Thailand and loves the people and the country. She wants to know what this area is like. The neighborhood where she would be is called Sean Suk where the famous bangsean beach is located. Are apartments in the area nice? How long to get to Pattaya? I have been to the university once many years back but I don't remember too much about it, the area or the beaches. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

For those of you that think parents are not parenting, do you feel this is changed or that they never really had good parents in other generations?

Agree! On my last trip to Brazil, IHP guy told me of this guy who was fantastic but he just didn't do it for me. I went with many others. Then, this guy said he was great at massage. I tried him for a massage and he turned into fantastic sex. He was not handsome or homely but in between. But, for sex, fucking incredible. I looked for him each night on subsequent visits.

I think there have always been asshole parents. I look back only at a generation or two ahead of me in my family and parents use to beat kids with wood and sticks, belts and etc. Sure, they had fear built into them but IMHO, that does not mean better parenting. I think the Internet and the abundance of choices have skyrocketed and thus given access to more info. But, I still think parents today are better informed than a generation or two ago.

Expat. I don't think so. I think parenting skills have improved. But, I think that we have become a society that incarcerates people for things that should not be illegal. How much of this is drug related? I bet a high number. How many of our friends / ect were doing drugs back in the 60's and 50's? I don't think the numbers have changed that much (maybe I am wrong) but I think the arrests have drastically gone up. Why? IMHO we need to fill prisons to fill coffers.

I have also stayed at the one in Fortaleza and while not great, it was OK. Right by beach and Ioved the boys from there. The one in Mumbai for 5k is a great deal! Great hotel with good food and in nice area.

I rarely if ever had duds. I am upfront and honest about expectations and money and I always give the guy a choice if he wishes to take me up on my offer. I have always been very clear in what payment is for a short time and if going to another bar after his, I tell him. I leave nothing to chance. I also usually have a Thai boy with me that tells them everything they need to know and how generous I am with tips if service is beyond good. In Brazil, I find my chance for duds is always higher in saunas where the boys don't know me. The ones in Rio and Sao Paulo know I am generous and know that I tip for good service. I always negotiate the going rate and then tip of service is excellent. If poor service, I give what I promised but then never see them again. Once one boy knows you are going to be good to him and tip well, his friends know and your chance of getting duds drops.

It is one of my favorite books of all time. I have waited for this for years. It was a Newberry Award Winner by Lowis Lowry. If you have not read the book, it is short and amazing.

I love this show and can't wait each week to see the next episode. Like a bottle of good wine, it just seems to keep getting better with time. I can't say the same about The Good Wife which I normally love but for Hanibal, I enjoy it more each season.
