Read my last report in Rio as Ihpguy took me to a park where hustlers frequent the benches. There are several places in the area but without some Portuguese, you may have a hard time.

I have stayed in Sao Paulo at least 10 days every year for many years. I love the city. You can search some of the archives here to find the trip reports. The Renaissance never had any issue with guests. The Intercontinental Hotel never had issues with guests. The Hilton never had issues with guest. On my last stay, I was at the Holiday Inn Express which is not near the saunas but a bit more residential area. The price is great and they did not mind guests. I think you will find that most hotels in the area are OK with guests who look like guests. If the look like street hookers, you may have a problem everywhere.

I don't believe this in the least. The more in the group that is spending money the more they want to go with people in the group to have a quick in with another customer. IMHO I have always found the opposite. But, I am not the type that hoards boys. I like them to make money so I always introduce them to friends I am traveling with.

Luckily I am not easily offended. I am apparently more grown up than you as you are asking me to my head out of my ass (I think that is what you said). I don't result to that kind of childish talk so there is only one of us that needs to grow up and it ain't me. Owning the Ambiance and having a vested interest in it are two totally different things. Don't play semantics and think everyone buys into it. I don't know who you are and I don't care who you are or if you are a part of the hotel or another hotel or a bar in the area or even if you the owner of another website. I don't know who the original poster is and I don't care who he is either. I have never been able to keep up with all the personalities of the message boards and I never will. It is nothing personal at all. But, I don't remember you as a poster on this site in other threads and when I see you start to attack me for disagreeing with you, I have to wonder why. As for the issue, I honestly did not see an issue with the first post or any other in this thread. You do. We disagree. Does that mean I have my head up my ass? One of the reasons I post so little on the gay Thailand related websites is because of people like you are can't have a rational debate and get offended when someone disagrees with you. Part of life is learning how to have a rational debate without name calling and throwing a tantrum.

You sound like someone who has a vested interest in this place. Do tell us please, what that interest is? Or, isn't? As far is your statement above, this rumor has been on the site before and your comment most likely won't be deleted or removed. Why? Well, people in Pattaya like to gossip. I know this must be news to you but asking who bought a business with no date or statement of when it was could have been 10 years back. I didn't find it a bad question and thus why I answered and actually said the place was great. I guess good comments about a business (yours or not yours) should be deleted? No, I think often threads take on a life of their own and good things can become of even the ones that start off bad. I am sure the owners of the Ambiance would be happy to know so many on the board like their place and go there for beds and food. Right? Or, I am still missing the point?

I really wanted to come. But, I have flown so much in the past month I just could not do it again. I had 2 trips to NYC and one to Portland, Oregon and the one from Oregon to NYC took me 21 hours because of delays. OUCH However, have a fantastic time!

I thought the original poster was talking about when Jim sold it. I didn't think it was anything recent. And, there is nothing libelous in this thread that I have read. Like others, I don't care who owns a hotel as long as it is good and done right. I have not stayed at any of the gay hotels in this area for 12 years. The only reason is when I tried, the Internet sucked and I could not get any good reception. This most likely has changed over the years and I'm willing to give them another chance but I don't care who owns the place. As for restaurants, I much prefer the one at the Ambiance to the others in the area. I really liked the manager there and the food is excellent. The Cafe Royale has great food as well so both of the food places I like. Perhaps on my next trip I'll give the Internet a try again as I am sure things have changed in 12 years.

Is the Ambiance the one above Copa? Or the one next to BoyzBoyzBoyz?

I have a good friend from Utah who has been offered a job working with Burapha University. She has been to Thailand and loves the people and the country. She wants to know what this area is like. The neighborhood where she would be is called Sean Suk where the famous bangsean beach is located. Are apartments in the area nice? How long to get to Pattaya? I have been to the university once many years back but I don't remember too much about it, the area or the beaches. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

For those of you that think parents are not parenting, do you feel this is changed or that they never really had good parents in other generations?

Agree! On my last trip to Brazil, IHP guy told me of this guy who was fantastic but he just didn't do it for me. I went with many others. Then, this guy said he was great at massage. I tried him for a massage and he turned into fantastic sex. He was not handsome or homely but in between. But, for sex, fucking incredible. I looked for him each night on subsequent visits.

I think there have always been asshole parents. I look back only at a generation or two ahead of me in my family and parents use to beat kids with wood and sticks, belts and etc. Sure, they had fear built into them but IMHO, that does not mean better parenting. I think the Internet and the abundance of choices have skyrocketed and thus given access to more info. But, I still think parents today are better informed than a generation or two ago.

Expat. I don't think so. I think parenting skills have improved. But, I think that we have become a society that incarcerates people for things that should not be illegal. How much of this is drug related? I bet a high number. How many of our friends / ect were doing drugs back in the 60's and 50's? I don't think the numbers have changed that much (maybe I am wrong) but I think the arrests have drastically gone up. Why? IMHO we need to fill prisons to fill coffers.
