I say to each his own. You can play with big military macho men Rambo types and I'll play with my dolls. Can we still be friends?

Kudos to him. I saw him on Ellen today and he was fabulous!

I did that last year. I love 24. Fucking amazing show. One of the best ever on TV IMHO.

That is right! I am a sports guy. I love me some figure skating. And, seeing the top 3 Men Winners, I'd happily marry any of them tomorrow. I think that makes me as manly as my friends who love football, baseball and soccer. Doesn't it?

Just saw the first episode and all I can say is HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHIT!!!!!

As always Tomcal, you help others see Exactly what the places we both love are like. However, the 2 naked boys don't normally come in the rooms do they?

I also just saw Philomena with Judy Dench. It was very well done as well. I am working through the list as fast as I can in order win this contest.

'American Idol' has its first openly gay contestant in 2014
TotallyOz replied to TotallyOz's topic in The Beer Bar
I agree. But, it is a start. And, who didn't know that the punk rocker was gay? I have always hated it was never discussed on this show like it is on The Voice. But, it also means she won't win. Do you agree? -

Of course it’s sad that this is a news headline, that it took this long, that this is reality. But hey, let’s be happy about it instead — someone had to break the ice! M.K. Nobilette, 20, is officially the first openly gay contestant on American Idol. It’s really just a crazy technicality: Gay contestants in the past had never spoken of their sexuality on camera, seemingly by the show’s design. “I’m very obviously gay, and there are always gonna be people in America and everywhere else who will definitely hate me,” said Nobilette while waiting to hear her Hollywood Week fate before the judges. “But I think that in the last two years there have been a lot of things that have really changed that, and have made it a positive thing.” “Thank goodness,” murmured Harry Connick Jr. http://popwatch.ew.com/2014/02/12/mk-nobilette-openly-gay-american-idol-contestant/?hpt=hp_t3 -
I am not for kids getting to legally be able to use marijuana but if there are medical conditions which it helps (and there is), I am not opposed to it either. I have had friends that died of cancer and the only thing that kept up their appetite or helped with their pain was marijuana. I have no problem with anyone doing anything to their body or for their betterment as long as it does not interfere with others. It seems the controversy will not go away. At least for now, there is conversation where one side is not belittled because of their beliefs.

Personally, I think this is bull shit. I don't think your words are wrong but I think the entire idea that it is a gateway drug is BS. I don't think it is more of a gateway drug than caffeine or redbull or booze. People who are addicts will take in what they want to get their need fulfilled. I don't think the chemicals in MJ will lead anyone to want to try other things. However, I have been known to be wrong in the past.

I have smoked weed for 20 years or more. I have never once tried X or Estacy, Crystal, Meth, Yabba, Heroin or any other illegal drug. Never. Not once. I have never smoked cigarettes or been drunk. Not once. Ever. But, I love my weed. I have never been tempted to try other things. I do not believe it is a gateway drug anymore than alcohol or xanex is.

A federal judge has ruled that Kentucky must recognize same-sex marriages performed in other states, striking down part of the state ban. In 23-page a ruling issued Wednesday, U.S. District Judge John G. Heyburn II concluded that Kentucky's laws treat gay and lesbians differently in a "way that demeans them." The constitutional ban on same-sex marriage was approved by voters in 2004. The out-of-state clause was part of it. The decision came in lawsuits brought by four gay and lesbian couples seeking to force the state to recognize their out-of-state marriages. Heyburn did not rule on whether the state could be forced to perform same-sex marriages. http://www.lex18.com/news/judge-ky-must-recognize-same-sex-marriages

Has anyone else picked up on the Goldbergs? If not, am I insane for laughing out loud for every episode?

I could not either. I hated the first 3 episodes but I kept watching. After the first season, I realized it was brilliant and fabulous. It is hard to get by something you don't like but for this show, it is really worth it!

Shirley Temple Black, the former child star who later became a U.S. ambassador, has died at 85, her publicist says. I have great memories of her when I was a kid as I was able to watch her on TV. What a beautiful gal she was!

I didn't come out in a bar. It was just the first bar I went to when I came out.
