Everything's Bigger In Texas – Boytoy's Gay Guide To Austin
TotallyOz posted a topic in The Beer Bar
As some of you know, I have been spending a lot of time in Texas the past few years and Austin has become my city to use for Delta flights so I thought I'd write a little bit about Austin. I hope you enjoy! Play that funky music gay boy! It's time for a hoe-down because today I'm going to give you the skinny on the hottest stop in Texas for boy toys, gay boys and the men who love to meet their meat – Austin! Now, Texas doesn't have the greatest reputation in the world as a gay-friendly place to visit, but Austin is different. While the rest of Texas is most certainly a red state, Austin is as blue as your balls after four days of not getting off. The city is one of the most queer-friendly places to go in America – and it's just as easy to get your gay on here as it is in New York or San Francisco, but everything is cheaper. You won't bust your budget just to cum down to Austin and bust your nut. Even better? Winter doesn't happen in Austin. It's warm all year 'round. And while it is certainly hot in Austin in summer, it's nearly perfect weather in fall and winter – so if you want to escape the snow and cum someplace warm, Austin is the place for you. The downside to Austin is that there isn't a lot of great public transportation, and there is a lot of sprawl. Therefore you'll have to do a fair amount of driving to get to the various gay bars and clubs. If possible, when planning a night on the town, plan to go out with someone and take turns being the designated driver. If you are on your own on your vacation and do want to pound some booze, you can take advantage of the city's Square Patrol Service. Between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m. they will show up and drive you back to your hotel. You do, however, have to have your own car. They are a designated driver service and not a taxi service. Most bars have fliers telling you how to contact them. The number one reason people decide to visit Austin is because it has one of the most interesting and thriving music scenes in America. No matter what type of tunes turn you on, you'll find it here at any of the hundreds of bars and clubs scattered around the city. Of course, the most famous music event in Austin is the annual South By Southwest (SXSW) festival held every March. More than 1,400 performers a year show up to play music for four days. It is the largest music festival in America, and you'll find every type of music possible represented at the various tents, stages and other venues. And, who doesn't want to be surrounded by tens of thousands of boys jumping around and getting sweaty all day and all night! A fair amount of the gay scene in Austin is centered around the University Of Austin. This makes sense because when they get to school here is when many young Texans finally tip their hat and come out of the closet. When they graduate, they remain living near the school and bars, clubs, restaurants and gay book stores have cropped up to meet their needs. So, you should definitely walk around the university and the gayborhood around it – both for the delicious young eye candy and the opportunities to find your own vacation boy toy to bound around with between the sheets! While at the university, you'll want to get on the tour to climb up the famous UT tower, which offers the most breathtaking views of Austin in the entire city. The unofficial slogan of the city is “Keep Austin Weird.” You'll find posters, bumper stickers and T-shirts to that effect wherever you go. Perhaps the best example of why this slogan is true is the city's most popular tourist attraction – bats! Yes, you read that correctly. The city is the home to an estimated 1.5 million Mexican free tailed bats. Every night at dusk, they fly out of their caves and into the night sky to cruise for bugs for dinner. It's easy to check them out by going to any high point during sunset, though locals will tell you that the Austin American Statesman's parking lot is the best place to check out the view. Don't worry, they won't suck your blood - they don't like to eat mammals. The most typical Austin event is Eeyore's Birthday Party, which features a giant statue of Pooh's best friend dressed up as the Statue of Liberty. It is held the last Saturday of every April ,and attracts a huge number of gays and lesbians who are out to party hard to celebrate spring (which is the mating time, am I right boys?) For an even better example of just how weird Austin can get, you can go to the annual SPAMARAMMA event – an entire party designed to celebrate the potted meat dish. People hold gourmet SPAM cooking competitions and drink and dance the night away while stuffing themselves. If you are looking for a queer-themed activity for your gaycation, the Austin Gay And Lesbian Film Festival is the oldest in America and attracts a loyal following every September. That's the same month the city hosts the largest Gay Pride Parade in the Southwest, so you can combine both activities at once for a cockalicious experience! When you want to think pink (and really, when don't you), the Texas State Capitol Building is a must-see. Made entirely out of pink granite, and is larger than the U.S. Capitol. (Well, everything is bigger in Texas, so what would you expect?) The building is open to the public, so you can wander around and get in touch with a bit of Texas history. Speaking of which, your next stop would probably be the LBJ Presidential Library. This is the heart of any historical tour of Austin. It has rotating exhibits dedicated to the one Texas president who actually gave a shit about civil rights. If you want to just walk around and cruise a bit, head over to Zilker Park where you can hike for several miles around Town Lake. It's not only one of the most beautiful walks to be found anywhere, there is also a huge hook-up culture in the park at night, so it's a good place to go if you want to beat around the bush! So, my wonder fags, twinks, bears and boy toys! If you want to check out the Lone Star State, Austin is where you want to cum and have fun! Hope to see you there! -
Thank you for sharing what happened. I really had no idea about the situation and I was unable to find what you did wrong on the site. And, still do not. It is not fair for any admin to ever post under a user's name. I agree with you that has to be sacrosanct. I will assure each and every one of you that this will NEVER happen on this site. Tampa Yankee is one of the most honorable men I know and both of us value the work and effort each one of you puts into making this site fun and enjoyable and informative and we will never intentionally do anything to breach that trust. My mother always told me: if you play with a snake long enough, you are bound to be bitten. I know the bite does not feel good and you did not deserve it Lucky. Sorry this happened to you.

Envious in America! Have fun at Hero. Did you see the post on this site about Marriott's lifetime membership changes. Good news for all of us that stay at these hotels.
-
Inquiring minds want to know. What happened? I have read the threads in questions and for the life of me can't figure out what happened.
-
I have never seen anything like that in my travels. But, I have been on the plane with some unruly passengers once. This was pre 911 and the flight attendants were very patient with them. But, if this has been in the past few years, I don't think the same outcome would have occurred. I also have several times in the past few years been on board to have passengers thrown off the plane before it takes off.

The governor would be an idiot not to take Barney up on his offer. A better guy could not be found!

Lurker, I am interested. I'll have to wait closer to the date to see where I'll be at that point in time. But, if I am in Cali or Texas I'll defiantly be there. I have heard great things about this weekend and would love to test it out.

One of the reasons this is my favorite hotel in Pattaya! Great staff. Great security. Great breakfast buffet.

New Rules for Marriott: Lifetime status will continue to be awarded on the basis of a combination of points and nights earned by travelers during their memberships. What will not change is the number of points required to earn lifetime status. That remains as follows: Silver Elite: 1.2 million points Gold Elite: 1.6 million points Platinum Elite: 2 million points The new number-of-nights hurdles, however, will be considerably lowered, as follows: Silver Elite: reduced from 600 to 250 nights Gold Elite: reduced from 800 to 500 nights Platinum Elite: reduced from 1,000 to 750 nights Lastly, the current requirement that Rewards members participate in the program for at least 12 years before being eligible for lifetime status will be dropped altogether. The new rules will take effect on January 1, 2013. Full details, according to Marriott’s blogger, will be posted online at http://www.MarriottRewards.com/Lifetime, but that page hasn’t yet been activated. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/marriott-rewards-including-ritz-carlton/785268-lifetime-marriott-rewards-elite-status.html

A mom gave her son an IPhone and attached to it were rules. 1. It is my phone. I bought it. I pay for it. I am loaning it to you. Aren't I the greatest? 2. I will always know the password. 3. If it rings, answer it. It is a phone. Say hello, use your manners. Do not ever ignore a phone call if the screen reads "Mom" or "Dad". Not ever. 4. Hand the phone to one of your parents promptly at 7:30pm every school night & every weekend night at 9:00pm. It will be shut off for the night and turned on again at 7:30am. If you would not make a call to someone's land line, wherein their parents may answer first, then do not call or text. Listen to those instincts and respect other families like we would like to be respected. 5. It does not go to school with you. Have a conversation with the people you text in person. It's a life skill. 6. If it falls into the toilet, smashes on the ground, or vanishes into thin air, you are responsible for the replacement costs or repairs. 7. Do not use this technology to lie, fool, or deceive another human being. Do not involve yourself in conversations that are hurtful to others. Be a good friend first or stay the hell out of the crossfire. 8-9. Do not text, email, or say anything through this device you would not say in person. 10. No porn. 11. Turn it off, silence it, put it away in public. Especially in a restaurant, at the movies, or while speaking with another human being. You are not a rude person; do not allow the iPhone to change that. 12. Do not send or receive pictures of your private parts or anyone else's private parts. Don't laugh. Someday you will be tempted to do this despite your high intelligence. It is risky and could ruin your teenage/college/adult life. It is always a bad idea. Cyberspace is vast and more powerful than you. And it is hard to make anything of this magnitude disappear -- including a bad reputation. 13. Don't take a zillion pictures and videos. There is no need to document everything. Live your experiences. They will be stored in your memory for eternity. 14. Leave your phone home sometimes and feel safe and secure in that decision. It is not alive or an extension of you. Learn to live without it. Be bigger and more powerful than FOMO -- fear of missing out. 15. Download music that is new or classic or different than the millions of your peers that listen to the same exact stuff. Your generation has access to music like never before in history. Take advantage of that gift. Expand your horizons. 16. Play a game with words or puzzles or brain teasers every now and then. 17. Keep your eyes up. See the world happening around you. Stare out a window. Listen to the birds. Take a walk. Talk to a stranger. Wonder without googling. 18. You will mess up. I will take away your phone. We will sit down and talk about it. We will start over again. You & I, we are always learning. I am on your team. We are in this together.

Are you referring to me KT?

"Now we all know you hate Russians, hate long lines, and the rest of your hate list, along with apparently hating me too. Congratulations." I don't hate you GB, I love you! but I did think you were a Russian. Are you American?

For years I sough out the steam room at gay gyms in San Francisco, New York, and LA. Why? Damn, it is hot. I love naked bodies. Sometimes I get lucky these days but most of the time not. I still love to watch if two hot young studs get going in my presence. The NYSC in the Marriottt Marquis was my favorite. I never went there where I didn't find a cute guy jerking off or a few sucking and fucking. I just loved it.

"1. You say the guys are not necessarily gay so do you have both boys with you at the same time? How well do they interact or are they more responsive if alone with a foreigner? 2. Do you specify to the 'mamasan' upfront EXACTLY what you want to do/have done as part of the massage/sexual repertoire? I've no problem being direct but I would not like to be insensitive to the local culture." 1. It depends on the boys. I have had great threeways here. But, I normally have one of my regular boys help me pick the third. To just put 2 random boys together often gets mixed results. 2. I tell them exactly what I want and they make suggestions based on that. You can be as open as you wish as that is what they need in order to help you. Often, you find a guy and he does not do exactly what you want but he does enough to make you happy and you take him and he will then do even more. Yes, many are straight but they are willing to do gay sex and many will top or bottom on demand. The 2 I had were both willing to do so but both were married and have kids.

Gay Thailand Forum Board Updates and New Features
TotallyOz replied to TotallyOz's topic in Gay Thailand
snapshot, I love your analogies. They could not be more accurate. -
Over the next few months, I'll be doing a tremendous amount of traveling in the USA from California to New York and many places in between. I tend to use on a few hotel chains but I also look up on Trip Advisor where I want to stay to see the reviews. I have a convention in Las Vegas at the Hard Rock Hotel and I don't like that hotel so I found another one but I had never heard of it. I took a look at the reviews and there were hundreds of positive reviews and so I booked it to test it on this trip. I liked the idea of a 1100 sq foot room in Vegas right off the strip for under 140.00 USD. I'll try to report back here after I stay there.

I think everyone is perfect for Pattaya and while I don't really like all the Arabs encroaching in Sunee Plaza, there is room for everyone in Pattaya. I do find that most people from Russia I have dealt with in Pattaya to be nice. The same I cannot say for the Japanese. They tend to look down on Thais and others. Perhaps I am just over sensitive and don't understand the Japanese culture, but odd things have happened more than a few times with Japanese tourists.

FH said: "I suspect most of us are perplexed about the virus issue and it would be nice to know exactly what happened – and why it seems still to be happening to some readers." I can tell you exactly what happened. Invision Board has a software issue that allowed for malicious script to be injected into the forums. They required a patch in order to stop this. The patch was applied within 12 hours. But, some malicious scripts were already injected. These scripts were cleaned up and removed. Google is the one that reports to most of the software companies that deal with viruses and maleware. There is an area in Google's Webmaster Tools area for webmasters that allows for a site that is designated dangerous to be reviewed. This site was placed on the list. The hosting company and programmers went to work to fix all issues without hours. The issues were resolved. A "Review" was presented to Google and that took 24 hours. The review showed there was no more issues with the website. It took the site off the malicious warning list. In order to make sure the site was totally secure, Scooby upgraded the forum to the latest version and applied the newest patch. In other words, many things were happening in the background to try to have Google remove this "warning" and then to make the site forum area even more secure. Notice I say the forum area as the main part of the site was never compromised. It was only the forums that allowed for someone to "inject" problems into the message boards. The programmers went into the boards and were on top of this from the first moment this happened. The Google Webmaster Areas still says: A review for this site has finished. The site was found clean. The badware warnings from web search are being removed. Please note that it can take some time for this change to propagate. Normally, when a url is listed as bad, it takes 24-48 hours for this to propagate around the world. I don't really know how to explain things better than this but I wanted to try to let you know.

He is such a nice guy and I have met him on many occasions. He has always been beautiful so I am not sure why any of this was needed. -

The Facts About Low-Impact Training When it comes to working out, people spend a lot of time talking about high-impact training. This makes some sense – we live in a culture that wants to get the most bang for their buck. People see high-impact training as a short cut to losing weight and getting a ripped body that people will notice. So, they often dismiss low-impact training as something that's not for them because it might not deliver the results they want as quickly as they want. But, the truth is that low-impact training can be just as important, if not more so, than high-impact training. And, high-impact training isn't appropriate for a lot of people. It can be dangerous and has a much higher chance of causing injuries – and in some cases heart attacks, cardiovascular problems and strokes - than the much safer, but just as effective low-impact training. There are entire classes of people who should stick to low-impact training and never attempt high-impact workouts. These include elderly people, pregnant women, women who are trying to get pregnant, the obese, anyone suffering from arthritis, people who have not exercised in the past few years, and anyone who has suffered a muscle injury or a broken bone in the past six months. In fact, one of the reasons why so many older people don't exercise is that they are afraid of high-impact exercises, or their doctors have warned them against high-impact workouts. This is because as people get older, they are much more at risk for broken bones or elevating their heart rates to dangerous levels during high-impact workouts. But low-impact workouts carry none of these risks. This is a good thing, because as people educate themselves about the benefits of low-impact workouts they are destined to become more popular, and people will need to have the training and the equipment to do them correctly. If you suffer from osteoporosis or arthritis, low-impact workouts can have a huge impact on the quality of your life. Low-impact workouts stimulate the growth of muscle tissue, which then helps build new bone tissue. The result is that you end up with stronger bones and suffer less from osteoporosis and arthritis. Low-impact workouts also stimulate the body to create more essential glucose and deliver more oxygen to your muscles. This has the wonderful side effect of naturally controlling your blood pressure – which greatly reduces your chances of becoming a victim of a heart attack or other cardiovascular disease. The main difference between a high-impact workout and a low-impact workout is that with high-impact workouts, you put more strain on your muscles, bones and heart. That's why low-impact workouts are safer. The good news is that a well thought-out low-impact workout program can burn off just as many calories and help you get in shape just as well as a high-impact workout - without any of those risks. But, what exercises are considered low-impact? That's a good question, and we are going to spend some time now talking about exercises that are not only low-impact, but also extremely effective at helping people lose weight and live healthier lives. • Walking. This is the most basic low-impact exercise possible, and probably the one that most people will start out with. Walking works most of the muscles in your body, and you can either do it on a treadmill at the gym or outdoors. It doesn't matter; the results are the same. You can incorporate walking into your life simply by not driving to work three or four days a week. Or you can take a walk through the park, or decide to walk from place to place when you go out. It's an easy way to burn calories and help your cardiovascular system. To get the most out of walking, swing your arms when you are walking outdoors, or don't hold onto the side of the treadmill if you are at the gym. • Hiking. This is the advanced version of walking. Find a hill or some other area of ground that has inclines and declines. You use different muscle groups when you are walking uphill than when you are walking downhill. Both burn off more calories than walking on a flat surface. You can also set a treadmill to alternate between uphill and downhill walking, if you want to stick to the gym. • Stair climbing. Again, this can be done almost anywhere. Climbing stairs burns off a lot of calories while remaining a safe low-impact exercise. Walk up and down the stairs of your house. When you get to the office, skip the elevator. Or, if you go to the gym, use the stair machine. This is the exercise you should move onto when you want to get a little more serious than simply walking. • Interval training. If you set the treadmill at the gym to interval training, it will automatically change the speed of your walking at different times during your workout. By varying the speed of how you are walking, you'll build up your body without pushing it into risky territory like you would with running. • The rowing machine. Most of us don't live in climates where we can row a boat on a lake 12 months a year. But, nearly all gyms have rowing machines. Rowing machines work both your upper and lower body while remaining as low-impact as possible. It burns even more calories than stair climbing, and is a great thing to start doing as you get more into working out. • Swimming. You can't get more low-impact than swimming. In fact some people consider it a “no-impact” exercise. Swimming works all major muscle groups, is extremely safe, and fun - all at the same time! • Step aerobics classes. This is a great way to have a low-impact effective workout while also being social. Taking a step class is a great way to meet new friends and have a professional guide you through your workout. It can also be really fun if you have a good trainer. Those are the facts about low-impact workouts – along with suggestions for exercises you can incorporate into your workout program. All of them can have a huge impact on your quality of life, and all are extremely safe.

Well, I am sure they are an attempt to clamp down on the server and make sure it is secure. We always had a secure environment and never any issues. These issues recently were because of the Invision Software for the forums and I told the programmers to make all changes needed in it to make it as "spam" proof as the rest of the site which we designed. It is not easy to do this with someone else code, but we are trying and it may cause of issues. When it does, tell us and we will put in a request to check it out. Thank you for your patience.
