The scene in Pattaya changes faster than the seasons change. Bars come and go like lightening. One week, a bar has a great group of boys and the next week, it is dead. There are a few staples of fine gogo entertainment in Pattaya. IMHO Funny Boys is the best run place in town. Great mamasan. Great dancers. Beautiful Staff. Soft Music. Clean Bathrooms. The place is run with class. Tonight, my friend Firecat and I wandered into several other places. One was the New Dynamite. This place has gone up and down but with more than 30 boys there tonight, it is defiantly on an uphill spiral. There were several cute guys and the drinks are reasonable. We then walked by one bar and met 2 guys we have known for years. They are both in their late 20's and VERY sexy. We were just talking about them yesterday as no one has seen them in years. Two young Thai boys have been murdered on their way home from the market in Chon-Buri on the weekend. The pair had been returning home on their motorbike when they were attacked by an unknown offender who subsequently stole approximately Bt1,000 from the children. I love riding bikes. I have done the TourdeThailand.com ride across Thailand and loved it. The ride starts in Chiang Mai and ends in Phuket. I think the ride is the most amazing way to see Thailand. I hope to do this event again. I have been approached by others who want to do a ride like this but with the money being donated to gay related charities. Tonight was odd. I had several guys from the bars asking for money as they said their bar was closed. I wandered by and sure thing, the bars were closed. Tom Yum was shut closed. Not sure when your last trip to Pattaya was Lucky. Sunee is much better today than a few years back. It is NOT 100 percent clean but it is getting damm close. All the beer bars I know of legit and legal age. There are only a handful of gogo bars left and the police have clamped down tight on them. Thailand is not the place for people looking for Underage. The police here are VERY active in stopping this activity. Surrounding countries are the place most go. You will notice that many get arrested in Bangkok Airport but that is the main Asian hub for most surrounding countries. Thailand has no tolerance for this kind of activity. I rarely see anyone under 18 in any bar. However, it is still illegal for someone under 21 and not working in a bar to be inside and drinking. I also have never seen underage in Brazil. Not one sauna I have ever been to has young guys. I love the saunas there for this reason. You don't have to worry about a fake ID or problems. There must be a street scene as the article states but I have never seen it and have no desire to be anywhere nearby.
