  1. I am sorry that some get offended by TY's comments. However, he and I both feel very strongly that reviews have substance in order for them to be of value to readers. I have read too many reviews over the years that were a few sentences and did little to help me in my evaluation of the escort being reviewed. TY turns down many reviews for this reason. He did the same thing on one of my reviews and asked that I change it to add more information. I agree with him and did it. It was better for the escort and helped him to get more work and made the review easier for others to judge the experience. As for me, I didn't get offended in the least. I thought it was something that was a way for me to improve the review and I respected TY's opinion. I have known this man for years and he is nothing if not consistent and honest. He is also good with trying to make sure all reviews that are published here are valuable to clients. I hope others don't get offended as he is really trying to do the best for all of us.
  2. I have a guy I have been a friend with for a few years. He is Thai and has a child and a girlfriend. I have never really understood the Thai mindset and sat down with my boyfriend and this guy last night and chatted for a few hours. The boy had been getting cash from his boyfriend (another farang) on a regular basis when I was in Thailand before. When I came here, he called my boyfriend as they were good friends and wanted to see us and I was glad to see him again. I asked about his family and his daughter. He said he couldn’t see the daughter as the mother of the girl would not let it happen anymore and the girlfriend was not allowed to see him either. This had me puzzled so I went further into this and he said the mother kicked him out of the house when his farang boyfriend stopped sending money to him. I asked if the mother minded if the boy was getting money from a gay foreigner and he said no as long as the money was coming in, she didn’t care where it came from or how he earned it. He said the mother really didn’t care if the boy was selling yabba or working in a bar. The bottom line was: Do you have money to help? My boyfriend confirmed this as he had a similar thing happen to him where he was kicked out of a girl’s life because he stopped working in the bars many years ago. This was way before me and when I met him he was not working in the bars. I guess I never realized how important the money that someone sends to Thailand is to not only that person but to a host of others. I was lucky enough to meet a lad in Chiang Mai that I was very generous with. Only one but he was special and I did spoil him. I do hope that he is able to take the money I gave to him and put it to good use. I think he is smart enough to do this and I can’t wait to see him again on my next trip there so hear his story and what direction he took in life. Hopefully, those of us that support someone realize that they depend on us and need us for long periods of time and when he money dries up so do many things in their life. When you are lucky enough to find a guy that actually appreciates the money and puts it to good use, it is a wonderful joy to know you are helping someone to better his life. I thank my lucky stars that I found an amazing boyfriend who is honest and caring. There are as few of them around as there are Jai Dee farangs to take good care of them. It is often hard to walk in the shoes of another but the more of these stories I hear from friends, the easier it gets for me to understand the "system" here in Thailand. Each trip I learn a little bit more and something clicks in my mind that says, "Ah, I get it now." This was one of those occasions.
  3. I went last night to Body Language with some boys celebrating an ex's 22nd Birthday. The place is behind Sunee Plaza and in the area where there great German Restaurant is. The place is packed with sexy Thai guys and is a very popular gay hangout. There were very few farangs in attendance and the crowd was mostly Thai boys buying drinks for themselves and celebrating together. There were several coyote dancers roaming around the place and they were sexy to watch. I asked the guys with me why they chose this place for the party and they said: "well it has cute boys for you to look at and good music and cheap whiskey for us." Well, in my humble opinion, they were right. The music was not too loud but it wasn't as quiet as most places you go to have a chat. But, my ears did not get a filling of the loud booms. We got there fairly early and we were the only ones there. By early, I mean around 12:30 AM. No one was there but us so we picked our table. After about an hour, the place was popping. The later the night went, the more crowded it became. I left around 3:30 and the place was packed. The boys stayed until around 6:30 am. There were no cigarettes allowed in the place and the guys that wanted to smoke simply stepped outside. The bathrooms were very clean and comfortable. Drinks were reasonable and service was fast. I think we had either 3 or 4 bottles of Red Label and the cost was around 3k baht. I really didn't keep track of things as the boyfriend kept up with everything. The manager was friendly and the place has a great atmosphere. I saw some of the hottest eye candy I have seen in Pattaya and all were dancing and gyrating to the beat. Our group was about 7 but their friends started joining us as the night went on and it quickly expanded. All in all, place is wonderful and if you like the late night scene and a dance club that is for gays and not a very mixed crowd, give Body Language a try.
  4. It has been 3 years now since Hooboy died. On the anniversary of his death, I think back on him often. He has such a wonderful vision and a great attitude on life. He helped more escorts than anyone can imagine and he changed the way the world hires escorts. Today, I had a bottle of wine in his memory at the place I last saw him in Thailand. I am sure he is looking down on us and smiling, laughing and cracking a joke or two.
  5. The airport is Chiang Mai is busy. There are many tourists that come on and go. I was told the average stay in the city is 3 days so you can imagine how fast things go in the city. Lots of tourists and lots of activities are always going. We took Thai air from Bangkok to Chiang Mai. We chose business class only as it was a slight bit more than economy class with fully changeable dates. The cost for the tickets was about 7500 baht each. We flew one guy in from Udon and it was 6,000 bath for his ticket. He had to fly up on Air Asia. We used Thai Air as I wanted my points and my miles. My boyfriend had to fly back to Bangkok each week to go to school on the weekend. He would leave on Friday night or Saturday and come back after school on Sunday. He was late getting into Bangkok every time and his was late getting back into Chiang Mai all but once. I say this just to tell you not to set your clock by the airtime. There were always delays for us. Perhaps that was just fluke but it happened on the way there and on the way back. There are daily flights from each city into Chiang Mai and they usually start early am and stop at around 9 or so at night. You will have no problem getting either a taxi or a Tuk Tuk from the airport. Once in Chiang Mai, PJ's picked us up and took us to the hotel. There were metered taxis waiting outside and they were always at most shopping areas we went to. Tuk Tuks are available day and night. Most rides on them cost us 50-80 bath. At night they asked for more money. When I was with the boyfriend it was always a few baht more than if it was just him. We took the Tuk Tuks to D2 hotel every night and it cost 80 to get there and 100 to get back to PJ's place. We did rent a motorbike for the month. It was 4k baht for the entire month and we had to leave a deposit of 3k bath and a copy of the ID card. The boyfriend used his card. We rented from Buddies Bikes which is right across from Central Plaza shopping. To rent a car and driver for the day was 2000 plus the cost of gas and tip. That is what most guys quoted us. There are lots of taxi's for hire. I even had a friend who rented a Tuk Tuk for the day. I didn't see motorbike taxis there like I see in other cities. It looks like the Tuk Tuks have a monopoly on the business. There are baht buses that go everywhere. You can rent them or pay per the way. We only took a few of them and I didn't pay attention to what we paid for a group ride. I know when we told them where to take us it was 100 baht. I found the Tuk Tuks easier and faster and much preferred them. In the day we used the motorbike we rented but at night we would use the Tuk Tuks as the boyfriend could then drink with friends and I didn't have to drive at night. I was never drunk but I am not good at night with driving and didn't want to be responsible for driving both of us. You can also rent bicycles for the day/week/month. I saw many biking around the area. All in all, I found getting around the city pretty easy once you get use to where the moats are and which direction they go. They seemed to be the center for us and we always found our way around using them. The city was easy to drive a motorcycle in and other transportation was always easily found.
  6. One of the things I am learning is that I enjoy doing more of the adventures that each city I visit has to offer. The boyfriend and I wanted to take a day to enjoy the jungle outside of Chiang Mai. We decided to do a 3 way adventure. First, we were picked up at the hotel. PJ's Hotel organized the trip for us. We were taken by van to an Elephant ride in the jungle. The ride was nice and crossed the river a few times. It was about 30-40 minutes total I guess. The park also had an elephant show that was enjoyable and for 20 baht, you can buy bananas and feed to the elephants during and after the show. Next, we were driven to a bike shop and given mountain bikes. We took these along the side of the river up the mountain for 10k. It was not an easy trek up the mountain as the bikes were on gravel roads and dirt. We crossed a few streams with water and up up and away we went. We had one guide with us on the bikes and a van to follow us directly up the river. At any point if we wanted to jump in the van and not ride, we were able to do that. So, this is for anyone to try. Some make it to the top and some don't. It is fun to try and we all enjoyed the ride. It took us about an hour to get to the top. At the top, our bikes were taken and we were given lunch. The food was tasty and good. After lunch, we were given instructions on the ride and safety information. The rafts were put into the water for us and off we went. The rapids were great fun and there were several class 3 rapids and perhaps a class 4 or two. Overall, it was a very easy ride down but very exciting for the guys. The boyfriend loved the water and the rapids. At times, he and his friend would jump out of the boat and float down the river. Our guide was excellent and helped us out of a few sticky situations. At the end, we were given an area to shower and change into dry clothes. We were taken back to the hotel. The day was so much fun and truly an enjoyable experience. Chiang Mai Adventures was the company that took us and I recommend them. They started further up the mountain than the other companies and therefore, we had more time on the river than most. Some companies started downstream of the major rapids and it was mostly a float down the water. I much preferred the challenge of the trip. The cost was 2,000 baht per person and that included the entire day. We tipped our guide and the boat guy. If you are looking for a fantastic day with lots of excitement and a challenging workout with the bike, give this threesome a try.
  7. Whether you want to chill out, immerse yourself in history or simply check out the smoking hot nightlife, Chiang Mai, in Northern Thailand, has a little bit of something to please everyone. Like most of the cities of the north, Chiang Mai is far more laid back than the southern metropolises like Bangkok, and the prices are far more reasonable. Chiang Mai is not only one of the oldest cities in Thailand, it has also hosted western tourists for hundreds of years. The city traces its own origins back at least 700 years and there are records of European explorers writing home about this “fair and great town” in the 1500s. The long history of this town is a boon to tourists who can marvel at the archeological and historical artifacts that seem to burst out of the countryside. For much of its storied history Chiang Mai was an important cultural and religious center for both Siam and Burma, which helps explain the huge number of ruins and temples that still remain to this day. Although Chiang Mai has always boasted beautiful mountains and a pleasant climate, it did not start attracting large numbers of western tourists until the early 1990s, when people started looking for new places to relax and ways to save money. Once people started visiting Chaing Mai, word spread fast and by the mid 1990s, Bangkok tourism speculators started buying up large chunks of the city and converting them into vacation havens. Chaing Mai celebrated its 700th anniversary in 1992 and in 1998 played host to the Asia Games sporting events. During the day you will want to take a walking tour through some of the more than 300 Buddhist temples including Wat Phra Singh Wat Chiang Man Wat Phan Tao Wat Jet Yod and Wat Suan Dawk all of which are at least 500 years old. You can walk through the temples on your own or rent a guide for the day. Please remember to dress respectfully when you visit any temple in Thailand; flip-flops and shorts are not appreciated. If you are into shopping, Chiang Mai has one of the most exciting nighttime bazaars in all of Thailand. This is where you want to go in order to get great deals on silk and traditional hand made crafts. On days when you don’t feel like hiking or walking, you can enjoy any number of boat trips up and down the Ping River. Just sit back, relax, watch the scenery and let your captain take charge! Chaing Mai is known as the city to go to in Thailand if you want gourmet meals at affordable prices. There are literally dozens of restaurants in the city, and almost all of them are world class. You can find nearly any type of food you desire, and you won’t have to worry about busting your wallet. The most interesting ruins in the region are called Wiang Kum Kham. They are from a lively city that was washed out in a flood 700 years ago. By far the most popular tourist activity in Chaing Mai is to ride an elephant into the jungle. These tame beasts are so tall that you will be able to see for miles and the beasts are so tame that you will always feel secure. When we last went to the elephant farm in Chiang Mai, the elephant trainers greeted us and they put on a show for us. They showed us how they taught the elephants to paint, play soccer and basketball. All of this was quiet entertaining and just a warm up for the elephant trek through the wilderness. Riding one of these wild beasts is an incredible experience. It is simply one of the most amazing things that can be done in Thailand. The elephants helped build ancient Thailand and they are respected and revered. White water rafting is another popular activity, as is rock climbing. You can rent all the gear you will need for both activities fairly cheaply if you just ask around. There is a rock climbing wall downtown that you can practice at. It is also in the middle of many gay beer bars. If you are into people watching, watching the climbers ascend the wall while sipping on a beer is very relaxing. Thailand is becoming known for its amazing gold courses. There are many tours planned that bring US and European citizens to Thailand for a week or two of playing golf at some of the most amazing courses in the world. For those of you who like to explore on your own, local guides will be happy to prepare trekking maps that will explain how to walk into and through many of the tiny villages that dot the mountains around the city. Like all of Thailand the people of Chaing Mai are very tolerant and this extends to gays and lesbians. The nightlife is hot and you can engage a host or waiter at most of the gay bars, go go taverns and meeting places. As you would expect there are many Thai ladyboys; not for everyone, but if that’s your thing you know who you are. For all the bars in the area that have shows, your best bet is to arrive around 10 p.m. and scope out the local talent before the hot boys take the stage. All feature red-hot dancers and hosts that will be ready to meet any desire you seek filled. These bars change constantly and many open and close so for the most up to date information, please see our City Guide section. The boys that work the bars here do not make salary so they do not always show nightly. Some nights are great and others just OK. It is our understanding that the boys that participate in a routine get money for that but they don’t do this every night. Far raunchier is the House Of Male. This sauna has large cruising areas, an outdoor swimming area, a bar and lots of dark corners where naughty boys can get to know each other better. House of Male 19 Sirimangklajarn Rd Soi 3 Phone: (0) 5389 - 4133 Website: http://www.houseofmale.com/ Also, give the sauna that all the Thais go to for companionship. You may not find many other farangs here as it is really a bit out of the way but it is a great place and you will find the gay boys here. Sparoma 9/4 Bardat Rd Phone: (0) 5381 – 2900 The Night Bazaar area on Chang Klan Road is also a feast of gay establishments that will rock your world. Night Bazaar Bars and Peak Bars Chang Klan Rd At some point in your trip you will want to spend some time in the city center. While this is where most of the straight tourists end up passing most of their evenings, there is also a good deal of gay friendly fun to be found if you know where to look for it! If you just want to go cruising, head over the Thaphae Gate after dark. This is the headquarters for all of the local hustlers and bad boys looking to have a good time. We were lucky enough to find locals at PJ’s Guest House who were willing to show us the ropes and show us where all the night cruising areas were. If you have a local for a guide and they are gay and know the area, Chiang Mai is a wonderful gay meeting area. If you are on your own, you may not find what you are looking for. As with most cities in Thailand, the gay scene in Chaing Mai is constantly changing but this guide should give a good idea where to start looking for your carnal adventures. We just can’t wait for you to come visit; we know you will have as good a time as we do! Hotels in Chiang Mai There are several hotel options for Chiang Mai. I choose PJ’s Place which is simply amazing to stay at and a wonderful delight to get to know the owners better. Great service and a great experience. See the full post about PJ’s. http://www.gaythailand.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2390 Bars in Chiang Mai I think the gays areas of Chiang Mai can be broken down into a few areas. First are the ones near PJ’s Hotel. This would include Soho, House of Male, BBeez’s, The other area of the area of bars near the D2 Hotel. This area reminds me of the Sunee Plaza area in that many of the boys are roaming the street area and they are all freelancers and you need to make sure you check ID’s as not all are the age they say. If you ask any Tuk Tuk to take you to the D2, they will and they will drop you off at a rear area that is adjacent to the gay bars. The first group of these bars is mostly straight boys who work the bars. They are all freelancers and the majority are very limited in what they will do. It has a very street atmosphere to it and you know that many of the boys there are very street savvy. There are two sides to the walkway. The first set is: Dragon King - with its red colors is the first bar on the right hand side. It plays some nice music and many western singers. The bar has a pool table that is used by some of the better pool sharks in the area. The bar is directly in front of the street so you get a good view of those walking up and down the Soi., Cruise Bar is one of my favorites. The owner is a very nice guy who is great at playing pool. This bar is small and has a nice feel to it. It has more hard rock, bad boy kind of music and the guys that hang out here are a bit more hard core than some of the bars. Crème is at the very end of the right side of bars and directly in front of the rest room. This bar stays pretty busy and has some very cute guys that work there. Left side: Secrets is the first bar on the left as you walk into the bar area. It has a pool table and several guys working. It also seems to have a nice clientele base. CU Bar is without a doubt my favorite bar. The owner is from Pattaya and use to own Soho Bar in Boyztown. He has a great selection of oldies music and soft beat that I enjoy. He is also willing to help out if you see any boy in the area you like. His English is excellent and he if very friendly. The other area is mostly a Gay area. If you were at the bars across from the D2 hotel, keep walking up the Soi in the direction the Tuk Tuks are going and you will come to this set of bars. They are there and easily seen from the street and 3 of them are located right in your view. Chez Nous was our favorite bar in this area. The boyfriend liked it as it had a very cute ladyboy there each night we went and she flirted with him nonstop. It also had a good side view of the Cabaret show that is done in front of the old Climbing Wall. The wall burned down and when I was there, it had not yet been rebuilt. Paradise MTVee Bar Friendship Cupid Circle Bar Circle has been remodeled since I was here last. They did a great job of the place and expanded it in size. It does get crowded around Showtime so you may want to get there a bit early if you want a good seat to see the show. I loved the guys who worked at Circle and had a few of them over to my hotel. They are all very sexy men and I found the ones I took, I had a good time with. There were very few (if any) openly gay guys there but as long as you are not stuck on the labeling of things, you will find many of the guys are willing to do things to make sure you have a good time. I would be specific in what you want and make sure they are willing to do it before you take them off. I think drinks were around 150 bath each and the off fee was 200. I honestly don’t remember exactly but I think this was the price. The show is nice and enjoyable. It is a mixture of ladyboy show with sexy boys show. The show seems to be the one thing that most of the bars did to attract customers. All had one show or another and the performers were all very good. Circle Pub 161/7-8 Soi Erawan, Chang Phuak Rd Phone: (0) 5321 – 4996 Free Guy Club Free Guy is the place in Chiang Mai that is has the younger group of boys. Most are over 18 and between 18-20. The mamasan seems to know a great deal about all the guys and about what they will do and will not do. As always, this depends greatly on each customer. I was told that there are only 3 guys in the bar that are gay. The rest are straight which means they are top only. I had one guy I really liked and had for drinks. He was so cute and he was new to the bar and to the business. When asked the questions as to what he would and could do he was very limited. Once outside the bar, he was totally different and a fun surprise. The bar has a book of photos of all the guys. The photos are very well done and if there is someone in the book you want to see, you ask them and they will get for you. The mamasan and one waiter spoke very good English but the rest of the staff was pretty limited. The bar has a gogo show at 10PM. We got there around 8:30 and were the only customer for over an hour. There were few boys that were there but they straggled in as we had drinks. The seating is comfortable but a bit used. The outside you go through a nice walkway with a pond on each side of the runway. The bar is easy to find if you know where you are going, if not, see the map on the site. It is really right around the corner from the Novotel Hotel. Tuk Tuk’s are easily had once you leave the place. Drink are 200 bath each which I thought a bit high for the place but they say they have the only gogo boy show in town and that the rest are cabaret shows and not real gogo shows. The off fee is 200 baht. The boys there were very sexy and if you are into testosterone, this is a good place to spend an evening. The “straight” guys watched the “gay” porn on the screen and made jokes at it all night. The porn was offered for sale to me in a little book they have. They were all local Thai guys from the Chiang Mai area. The videos were pretty poor quality and a bit weird to be honest. I had to laugh at them myself and I have seen more than my share of videos over the years. One guy was getting a blowjob while the camera guy jacked him off. Anyway, the boys I met were lovely and the place defiantly has it appeal. This is one of the few places with an Internet site and they say they are working to expand it. I wish they had put the pics of the boys in the album on the site. There were some amazing pics in the album. They do have an in call facility and you can get a room upstairs or you can get massages from the guys. You can book in advance for the massage or you can get a guy that is there. Circle Club New My Way Bar This bar has always been one of my favorites in Chiang Mai. I love the show here and the guys are hot. The show lasts for 2 hours and starts at 10. Again, many of the boys don’t get there till after 9:30 so you won’t see a huge selection before. None of the boys in this bar or other bars in the area pay the boys a salary so some nights you get many and some nights you don’t. The bar has a great selection of guys working and I have never left the place without finding a date for the evening. The guys tend to be more on the bigger more masculine side and not too many smaller guys in stock but there were a few and some very sexy ones at that. The show is a mixture of showing off the boys in the beginning and then a cabaret show. The routines are great to watch. There was a few that really stepped out and made me watch from beginning to end. The one with an artist drawing a guy’s portrait and the drawing was very homoerotic was great to see. I also enjoyed one skit when the guy is asleep in bed and is moving back and forth scratching himself and hit nice hard cock is able to be seen from time to time. The ladyboy numbers were good and enjoyable to watch as well. Like most bars in Chiang Mai, the boys seem to be the secondary focus of the bar and the show is the big draw. Being a gogo lover, I don’t really understand this but that is the way it is. I guess the bars have little overhead, as most of the workers are not salary. The drinks were 150 baht each. They didn’t have a great mamasan the 4 nights I went and no on really approached me with any information. The waiters I talked to about the boys would basically bring them over to sit and chat but little information was known until this point. Perhaps, I just didn’t know the right person to talk to but if you see a repeat customer who you know you will take someone, it seems to me that you would make sure someone went over to chat with him. They pretty much kept hands off until you asked someone to sit with you. New My Way 3/5-6 Hatsadisawee Rd, Chang Phuak Phone: (0) 5340 - 4361 Khun Khantoke Friends and I went to Khun Khantoke when I was visiting Chiang Mai on a holiday from Muay Thai camp. The please is very nice and defiantly a fun thing to do while in the city. Khun Khantoke is a facility that combines food with traditional Thai music and dance. The food is delivered on a round tray that has many different options. Of course the Thai boys with us preferred the spicy dishes, while I enjoyed the more low key non spicy dishes as well as the friend banana. The dance show had a variety of numbers including both males and females. There was a knife dance and many different dances from the different areas of Thailand. Perhaps my favorite was the Issan Music and dance. It was much more lively that the girls dancing with the traditional Thai dance. The food and the atmosphere were enjoyable. The compound is set in a lovely area and has many different buildings. We were in an open-air pavilion with a few hundred others. The boys really enjoyed the music and the food. The audience consisted mostly of tourists. I was surprised to hear that in Chiang Mai, the average stay for tourists is 3 days. There is simply no way to see the city in that number of days. The city is lovely and there is so much to see outside of the major tourist attractions. Amazing Sandwich If you have a craving for a nice sandwich with your selection of toppings, give Amazing Sandwich a try. It is about halfway between PJ’s Place and Central Plaza shopping. We ate there on several occasions and always had a nice time and good food. Amazing Sandwich 252/3 Pra Pokklao Rd Phone: (0) 5321 - 8846 Theaters in Chiang Mai are relatively inexpensive. You do need to reserve tickets if it is a big opening as the tickets are bought for specific seats. There are a few theatres in town. You can see what is playing in advance at http://www.movieseer.com/showtimes.asp?Channel=2 Art Gallery This is a gay restaurant with a rainbow flag. I always much prefer to support any business that flies the flag than others. I had to try this place. We were a group of 4 and the cost for appetizers and full meals for all and drinks was 800 baht. The place is an outside area and has 2 floors. It has a great view and the manager is the gayest guy I met in Chiang Mai. The waiter staff also appeared to be gay but my gaydar doesn’t work in Chiang Mai. The food was good and my Thai boyfriend enjoyed the spicy nature of the food. The Thais that had dinner with us even had trouble eating the soup as it was very spicy for them. I know it is not for me, if they have trouble eating it. They kept eating it saying how good it was. As their faces reddened, I knew that one soup was not for me at all. I had a chicken dish that was very well done and presented. The Art Gallery does have artwork downstairs for sale as well. I will go back to this place and wish I had found it earlier in my trip. Art Gallery 119 Kampangdin Road Phone: (0) 84803 - 4265 Located opposite Mae Ping Hotel Bowling 100 baht 3 games at the places we went. One of them was close to Central Plaza shopping and it had great rates for food and drink as well. We were there two times and were the only ones there so it was nice for that extra attention of having the workers play with us and help us in our game. The Drinks were reasonably priced and the beer flowed very fast for the guys I took at the waiter really wanted to make sure we drank as much as possible. We had a fantastic trip rock climbing as well. See: http://www.gaythailand.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2389
  8. I had to do a Visa run and we did it to Maesai. That is in Myanmar. It is about 4 or so hours from Chiang Mai and not far from Chiang Lai. The boarder was typical of a run with lots of shops on both sides and lots of beggars and swindlers. To get a one-day pass to Myanmar costs 10USD or 500 baht. However, I tried to pay in USD and they kept finding something wrong with the bill and finally I realized that the dollar sucks and they didn’t want it, so I paid in Baht and they took it fast. They do hold on to your passport and you get it back when you return. That was a bit odd for me but it all worked out fine. We had a chance to visit the Golden Triangle, which is the area of the Kong River, which boarders Thailand, Laos and Myanmar. We took a boat over to the casino and played a bit of cards. This trip cost the same as the other crossing but they don’t stamp your passport. They do hold it but it is not a Visa office. A boat took us from Thailand to Myanmar and then to a bus to the casino. The casino floor was not large but it was fun and I loved watching the boyfriend in his first casino. He had such a nice time there that I wish I had booked an overnight there to play all night. For us, we had to be back by 6PM or we had to come back the next morning. The casino was nice and clean and I look forward to trying it again in the future. I was told that rooms are 2100 baht a night but if you show you are going to put up 50k baht to play that they will comp your room. PJ’s took us on the trip. They drove us there and took care of all the details for us. We could have chose a bus for 700 baht for the visa run but we wanted to take our time and enjoy the day. The private van did cost us a great deal more but it was worth it in my mind and we were happy that we had PJ’s do this for us. The cost for the day for a private driver and Jiab as our guide as well as breakfast, lunch, dinner and a packed vehicle full of snacks and sodas was 6100 baht. That got me and the boyfriend pickup service and a full day in a private car and all the excursions we took. Some choose to go the route of a organized visa run to save expenses and I have done that on most occasion I travel but I had never been to Myanmar and I wanted to take the day at my own pace and stop as often as I wanted. If you are looking for an organized trip, you can also ask Peter and Jiab about this or about a private day. My only regret was not staying a few nights over in Myanmar to take in more of the country but I will travel there at some point in my life.
  9. B-Beez B-Beez is clean and fun. The 2 guys I hired from there were excellent at massage and good sex as well. The place is close to PJ’s so it is very convenient. The owners were friendly and knowledgeable. They had a book of guys and if the guy was not there, they would call him. I just picked guys that were there and both times I had a great time. The bathroom is on the roof and enclosed. It was interested to shower with a bit of light from the sky but it was a pretty area and well done. The room was medium size. Massages were 300 bath for Thai massage and 400 for Cream and Oil. Minimum tip of 500 baht. They have about 15 guys photos in the book. B-Beez' 1/8 Soi Lanna Villa, Chiang Mai-Lampang Road Phone: (0) 5340 - 6270 Website: http://www.b-beez.com Maple Maple is right next door to New My Way. They have a great selection of guys with some very handsome ones. As with most places I have been in Chiang Mai, the majority of the boys are NOT gay and are VERY limited in what they do. I did not pick a boy the first trip but went back and tried a guy. He was great at massage but the happy ending was not as happy as it was at other places. The manager was nice and honest. The place is clean and they seem to be spending money on it to fix it up even more. Maple House Hatsadisawee Soi 3, Chang Phuak Phone: (0) 5323 - 0569 Gemini This was my favorite place to get a massage but I think a rip off when it comes to prices. The cream massages were 900 baht. That is almost 2 times the cost of the other places. The boys were hot and sexy and I found a boy I really liked and went back 2 times. I am not sure if I was charged more than others as the manager did not have a sheet with prices. I do feel something was up with the rates at this place and I felt something shady was going on. But as I found one of the very few guys I liked at this place, I paid what they requested and went back. It was not the cleanest of places and the shared massage area with other rooms was a bit odd. To hear some moans and groans from the guy next door was odd. The shared shower area was odd as well as the door didn’t lock well and we were interrupted once. This was my least favorite facility but it was the sexiest guys I had found of all the massage places. It is around the corner from New My Way and Maple. Gemini 48/1 Hatsadisawee Rd, Chang Phuak Phone: (0) 5340 – 4146 Marn Mai Chaai Khan An hour and half here is 500 baht for Thai massage and 1000 baht for a 4 hand cream massage. The room was fine and the area was relaxing. Classic House 27/2 Thapae Soi 4, Thapae Rd Phone: (0) 5390 - 4582 Website: http://www.classichousemassage.com
  10. First, there is simply no better place in all of Thailand then PJ’s Guest House if you are looking for a gay friendly B and B. Two men who are lovers run it and their staff is excellent in what they do and the place is simply wonderful. PJ’s has high speed Internet for all guests. They serve a daily free breakfast from 8-10. The breakfast is a mixture of options and the boy that wait the tables are dressed in traditional Thai attire and the place settings are done to perfection each day. The boys are friendly, always have a smile on their faces and very easy to look at every day. The owners are Peter and Jaib. They run the place and oversee the guest’s stay. They are always available for comment and assistance. They gave so much advice and went the extra mile to make sure that the boyfriend and I had a great trip. We choose to stay in one of the suites, which is actually a small bungalow by itself. There was a bathroom and living room / office area on the first floor and a bedroom and bath on the second floor. Both floors had air conditioners and were sunny and great views of the gardens. The gardens were beautiful and well maintained. They had amazing blooms from the plants there and the sound of the water in the waterfalls were very soothing and relaxing. PJ’s had a guy for massage that would come to the hotel. He was excellent in Thai Massage and it was great not to have to leave the hotel. The cost for 2 hours was 600 baht. I thought this was an excellent rate and well worth it for the comfort of my own room. This was not a sex massage but it was an excellent relaxation. The only drawback to PJ’s was the Internet. It was fine for checking e-mail and cruising the web. It was very slow during the day and at night got faster. The only thing I would change if I were the owner is that I would make sure long stay customers got breakfast in bed by one of the cute waiters. This would have made me stay another month. Just kidding on this one although I would not have complained if any of their boys served me breakfast in bed. All 3 guys were hot and beautiful smiles and personalities. I think PJ”s picked the cream of Chiang Mai to be staff. I had trouble finding anyone in the city as hot as the tall hunk of a boy that works at PJ’s. And, yes, I did proposition him but was turned flat down. Over the course of 4 weeks at PJ’s place, I met some great guest who I enjoyed chatting with and got to know a few of them socially at night. It was a nice change of pace to meet guys that were more well rounded than the chaps I met in Pattaya who only cared about the newest bar or the next boy. The guests at PJ’s were from all over the world but the ones I spent time with were from Australia, Germany and England. I cannot recommend PJ’s enough for anyone. It is a great place to stay and an excellent value for the money. PJ's Place 19 Soi Plubplueng, Huay Kaew Road Phone: (0) 5340 - 4894 Fax: (0) 5340 - 4272 Website: http://pjs-place.com
  11. Climbing Thailand was an excellent day trip. We choose a day at the rocks plus an extra adventure to the Hot Springs. The cost was 2500 baht per person. I had the boyfriend and 2 other Thai guys and the four of us were given our own 2 guides and instructors. We didn’t have to have others in our group and we had great individual attention. PJ’s arranged the trip for us and I found much easier to just let these guys do the work for us and all we had to do was show up at the right time in the dining room. We were picked up at the hotel and taken to the rock climbing store and school. We signed waivers and were given a choice of meals to order for lunch. We were then driven to the mounting where we went to our area for instruction and were given several suggestions before we took to the rocks. We had been given shoes, a harness and a helmet at the school earlier so we had everything needed for the day. The rocks were Class 5A and 5A Plus and 6A and 6A plus. I don’t really know what all that means but I know the higher up the numbers go the harder it is to climb. I am sure we were all on very basic climbs and that was fine for us as we were all really new beginners. We did 4 different climbs all together. The boys made it to the top on all 4. I made it to the top on the first 2 and part of the way on the second 2. It is true that the bigger you are, the harder it is to climb. At least that is my thoughts on why the boys were able to scale the mountains so fast and it took me a bit longer. The huts we put our bags in were made of wooden branches and comfortable to relax in. Lunch was served for us around 2PM. That was after several hours of climbing. The lunch was good and we all ate every bit. We were exhausted from the climb so we were thrilled to eat and drink the Gatorade they supplied. We had chosen to go to the Hot Springs, which was nearby. The springs were great fun and a perfect way to end the day. The springs were very hot and ran though the park filled with tress and flowers. The springs were made so that visitors would sit on the banks and put their feet and legs into the water. We all did this and it was great comfort after a long day of climbing The boys bought some eggs. I assume they were bird eggs and they were pretty small. They came in a basket, which they took over to an area for the eggs and they put the basket into the Hot Springs to allow the eggs to be cooked. They left them in for 3 minutes for a soft egg and up to 11 minutes for a well done egg. They all enjoyed the eggs including the instructions. I had bought them all eggs and all the eggs were eaten. I think the eggs were 20 baht for a basket. We then went to the Mineral Water swimming pool. This was also warm but not as hot as the springs. It has a huge 2-story waterfall flowing into the pool. We stayed there for about 40 minutes before we had a food massage outside the pool area. The pool and the massage were extra fees to partake in. The pool was 50 baht each and the massage was 120 baht for ½ hour. Our day ended with the guides taking us back to the store and school for us to fill out evaluation forms. We did this and I bought the boys a t-shirt with the company logo and the mounting we climbed on the shirt. The shirts were 300 baht each. I always tip for good service and I gave each of our two instructors 200 baht each. I am not sure if this is the right amount or not but it was what I felt comfortable with and they appreciated the tip. I figured that most guys in Thailand can make about 200 baht a day in a regular job and they were with us from pickup in the AM till drop off after dark. So, I gave them what I thought was a good tip. I tipped the driver 50 baht. I simply wanted to give a summary of our day and the costs of the day and I don't know if the tips were good or cheap but it was a tip for the guides and they seemed to be thankful. Most of the climbers were younger guys and gals and I am sure most don't tip at all so, our instructors did seem to appreciate the tip. The rock climbing was perhaps the best day we have had here. It was fun for all of us and it was great to see the guys climb the mountain and do things they never thought was possible. I recommend this to anyone who wants a fantastic day! http://thailandclimbing.com/

  14. There is an article online talking about gaydar and it could be attributed to some scientific based rationale. I have always had a pretty good "gaydar" when I am in America and I think I am pretty accurate over 95 percent of the time. Of course that is my country of birth and I am so use to the prejudices and nuances of the people there. When I travel to Thailand, my gaydar goes into hibernation mode as I cannot tell at all which Thai boys are gay or not. It is almost impossible for me. The same clues that I use in the states does not work here at all. I have seen the boyfriend and he is able to tell which ones are gay and which ones are not much better than me. I think a lot has to do with this is his home. Have others seen the same thing? Does your "gaydar" work in LOS? Article: When people claim to have an acute “gaydar,” they may not be referring simply to their intuition. Long accepted as a fact in pop-culture lore, the ability to perceive homosexuality in others could be scientific. The Jan.-Feb. issue of Psychology Today (not available online) reports on a study by the Monell Chemical Senses Center where volunteers sniffed the armpits of sweaty T-shirts and rated how attracted they were to the scent. Lesbians were most attracted to the scent of other lesbians, gay men to the scent of other gay men, and straight people to the scent of straight people of the opposite sex. “This kind of scent-based gaydar enables gays to pinpoint potential partners instantaneously,” writes Psychology Today of the study. In the same vein, an article from Science Daily reported that homosexuals can be identified by gender-incongruent body types and walking styles. However, the way these ideas of gaydar differ from “straightdar,” if such a term existed, remains unclear. http://www.utne.com/2008-02-13/Science-Tec...ce-Technology++
  15. Jessie is a performer. He is sexy and looks great on film and on the stage. I saw him in Vegas at a few events and his smile was large and sexy. There were many escorts around him at all stages during the event. I don't think he has a problem with escorts, I think he is angry that people assume that just because he does porn that he is an escort. I did offer to take him and the boyfriend to a show while in Vegas and it was turned down. I think the boyfriend had a lot to do with this. lol But, that is because it is what I want to believe. Reading his statement, I guess perhaps he thought I was trying to proposition him for sex. I would never have done such a thing on the first date especially since the boyfriend was so close and wouldn't take his eyes off of him. Jessie is young and right now at a peak in his porn career. I hope that he is able to take this as far as he wants to go and does lots more movies. Not all porn stars will escort. And, not all escorts will do porn. Some escorts will not even show their face because they are worried about future repercussions. I don't have a problem with this at all. I have known more than my share of escorts who want to remain private in their lives and do not want the public to see them. Porn stars are the opposite. They want the public to see them. It is just my opinion but I think a lot of young guys that go into either business go into it with ideas and dreams. Some come to fruition and some do not. The longer one is in either business, the more likely the lines they had when they started their career will start to blur and the grey area will take foot. I am glad the information was posted here and have found the opinions stated so far very interesting.
  16. Mention homosexuality and many Thais will blame it on recent Western influences. Ask Varaporn Vichayarath what she thinks, however, and she would simply smile before providing a list of old temples with murals depicting same-sex courtship. Yes, homosexual courtship between both men and women. And yes, at temples. "Contrary to conservative beliefs, homosexuality has long existed in our society, as evidenced by these mural paintings," said Varaporn, a book editor who has researched the topic. Varaporn recently presented her findings at Thailand's first ever national conference on sexuality and sexual diversity, where she displayed photographs of murals painted on old temples in various parts of Thailand. Varaporn started with images of the 18th century Buddhaisawan Chapel in the National Museum, where the sacred Buddha Sihing image is housed for public reverence. There, she found some murals with images of lesbianism. One, located on the middle of the left wall after the main entrance, depicts two mermaids frolicking with each other above the ocean waves. On the opposite wall is the scene on the Buddha's Great Renunciation, the night Prince Siddhartha decided to leave palace life to ordain. In the portion of the mural that shows a group of court ladies sleeping in front of the royal chamber some of the women are embracing one another. Lesbian love is often seen in murals depicting the Great Renunciation, Varaporn explained. "While it reflects what must have been a common phenomenon among court women in those days since they were barred from direct contact with men, it may also symbolise worldly lust, which the prince was leaving behind," she said. A few other paintings of palace ladies cuddling each other can be found on the scripture cabinets behind the Buddha Sihing image. Suwannaram Temple in Bangkok Noi is another place Varaporn discovered murals showing homosexuality. Lesbian cuddling is again included in the scene of the Buddha's Great Renunciation, found on the front wall of the ordination hall or ubosot, opposite the main Buddha image. Yet Varaporn pointed out that representations of homosexuality in the sacred space of temples does not equate to social acceptance. "These scenes appear in the context of mainstream values of heterosexuality, so what they convey ranges from a humorous peek at homosexuality to outright ridicule and condemnation." An example of this is a depiction at Suwannaram Temple of sodomy used as punishment. Found on the ubosot wall to the left of the main Buddha image, it reflects social contempt of homosexuality and how some men used rape as a means to punish and humiliate other men. Murals showing same-sex relationships also appear at the Kongkaram Temple in Ratchaburi, Pratusarn Temple in Suphan Buri and the Phra Sing and Buak Krok Luang temples in Chiang Mai. The ordination hall of Kongkaram Temple houses two of Thailand's most well-known mural depictions of lesbian love. One, found on the right wall of the ordination hall after the main entrance, shows one court lady teasingly touch the breast of another. Another mural found to the left of the entrance features two court ladies in a close embrace, unperturbed by surrounding commotion. The paintings of lesbian love at Pratusarn Temple, though not as refined as those in city temples, reflect the folk artists' sense of humour rather than social condemnation. One painting seen immediately after entering that depicts the Buddha's Great Renunciation shows a group of court ladies in a romantic embrace. Another mural, showing an elderly woman playfully chasing another woman, is found on the far end of the left wall near the main Buddha image. The ordination hall of Phra Sing Temple in Chiang Mai, meanwhile, houses murals inspired by the popular folk tale Sang Thong, not the life of the Buddha as in most other temples. Interestingly, these murals show homosexuality to be part of local life, be it in the court or the village. One of these beautiful paintings depicts a group of nymphs (nang fah) caressing one another. Two other murals detail gay courtship; one in which two princes have romantically locked eyes while on a journey to marry their princesses, another in which two young village men hold each other in a loving embrace. All the murals are on the right wall after the entrance. Varaporn said that murals showing lesbian courtship are more common and easier to identify than ones showing gay courtship, which, as they are not overtly sexual, some may argue reflect only male friendship. Varaporn compared the gestures in murals at Phra Sing Temple showing gay courtship with those showing heterosexual relationships. She believes that in the representations of heterosexuality, these gestures, which include eye contact, close embraces, placing hands on another's hips and offering someone a cigarette, indicate romantic advances between men and women. But she remains cautious of claiming they mean the same when seen between two men given the culture of male camaraderie in the North. "We should note, however, that other studies on the North show that gay relationships were not a strange thing in the past," Varaporn pointed out. But why do these paintings on same-sex love appear in temples, supposedly sacred spiritual spaces? And why and when did they cease to be produced? According to Varaporn, the agricultural society of ancient Thailand had long employed sex-related rituals or items associated with fertility in worship. "Consequently, the people saw sexuality as a normal part of life." When, starting in early Ayutthaya period, temples became more widespread and more accessible to commoners, it was natural for the painters of murals to depict what they saw in daily life - including sexuality - in their work, she explained. The temples that house paintings of same-sex relations mainly belong to the early Rattanakosin period during the reign of King Rama I to King Rama III. This was the time society was opening up and allowing more diverse groups to interact with one another on an equal level, at least in religious spheres, said Varaporn. The depictions of contemporary life, however, are just a tiny part in the ubosot murals and do not in any way interfere with their main stories, which are the Buddha's life and other folk tales. Instead, the everyday scenes were used as space-fillers by the early Rattanakosin mural painters, who liked to make their characters and decorative scenes small and compact in order to cover every minute detail of a story. "This left a lot of white space given the size of the wall," explained Varaporn. "The mural painters solved this problem by filling the space with scenery such as trees and mountains as well as depictions of commoners' daily lives." Since these portions of the paintings were not as stylised as those showing the main story, the artists were allowed more freedom and creativity to paint contemporary life and to express themselves, she added. Murals showing same-sex relations started to phase out after the reign of Rama III and disappeared altogether after the reign of Rama V. Contrary to the mainstream belief that homosexuality arrived with Western influences in modern Thailand, the relative social openness toward homosexuality - as indicated by same-sex courtship seen in the murals - started to disappear when the ruling elite began to accept 19th century Victorian morality and sexually repressive beliefs, said Varaporn. Consequently, the artists' playful murals showing same-sex courtship were frowned upon and eventually disappeared. During the reign of King Rama V, the country adopted Western laws making sodomy illegal. Those laws were repealed in 1956. The silence on same-sex relationships, which has contributed to various forms of discrimination against homosexuals, is actually a recent social phenomena, said Varaporn. "We can see this by going back to our temples and our mural paintings," she said. http://www.bangkokpost.com/Outlook/23Feb2008_out001.php
  17. Thai Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej is planning to revive a controversial anti-drugs campaign which reportedly killed 2,500 people. Mr Samak, elected in December polls, promised a decisive, and quite possibly bloody campaign against drug dealers. He said he would use the same ruthless tactics as his political patron and predecessor, Thaksin Shinawatra, who was ousted in a military coup in 2006. "I will not set a target for how many people should die," said Mr Samak. "We will pursue a suppression campaign rigorously. There will be consequences." Extra-judicial killings While Mr Thaksin's 2003-2004 campaign enjoyed popular support and did, briefly, curb Thailand's rising drug problem, it resulted in some 2,500 deaths. Human rights groups accused police of extra-judicial killings, saying many of the dead were later proved to have been innocent. 19. One place I have always wanted to visit is Cuba. I am hopeful that this new turn of events will allow that to happen. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/02/20/world/am...nyt&emc=rss
  20. I have been to this event in the past and had a wonderful time. I sat at a long table full of funny men and sexy guys. Anyone making plans to attend this year?
  21. The first event of 2008 will take place on Feb. 25th in a Street Party Fashion. Attached is the flyer for the event. For those of you in Pattaya, I hope you enjoy!
  22. I brought my IPhone to Thailand and it works fine for me. But, now the boyfriend wants one. I tried to explain to him that many if not most of the features won't work here. I just assume this is correct. Is there a legit version of this in Thailand? Has anyone used one here on a Thai network? I have been using mine only for important calls to USA as the rates are not cheap. I also made sure I turned off my mail as that is data and I had a friend that had over 1k in charges when he was in Asia. I have seen the Iphones in the IT places in Thailand so I know an unblocked version is available. I am curious if anyone has a legit one that is of use in Thailand.
  23. I didn't realize it was such a big day but all the guys I know were really into it and had dates and the bars were not crowded at all. There were many I talked to who had plans late with their significant other. I didn't know this was such a Thai holiday but the boyfriend said it was a big day here. Have others seen this? I saw tons of red and lots of roses last night.
  24. I met a guy that I like. He has worked in the bars for 3 months. He is not gay. He is very straight acting and Alpha male. He has been off with customers 3 times only. He is sweet and handsome. He does not bottom at all. But, I asked him what it would cost for him to try. He got all flustered and wanted to think about it. He spent time with his friends whom I've met in the bars as well. A discussion ensued about this. The entire group is straight and all have girlfriends. BTW: I do believe his story as a good Farang friend of mine who is in the bar each night confirmed this for me. Now, as to price, he wants to let me know tonight. LOL He needed a night to think about this and last night was Valentines Day and his Girlfriend was there. I was very discreet about asking him this and would not embarrass him in anyway. I just like to know up front what my options are. At first it was only massage and JO. After a week, it is now oral. Now, he wants to give me another rate. What is the cost of a virgin today? I normally do not like Virgins and much prefer those who have been around a bit and more experienced but I do really like this guy. 19 years old, Thai/Burmese/Laos/Chinese/Farang Mix. Straight. Masculine. Cute ass. What is the max you would pay for someone that you really really wanted?
  25. I guess I believe in love but not sure about the typical sense of one True Love. I have loved many over the years and it seems I still have room in my heart for more. I did find that the more heartache I have experiences the less willing I am to give love a try. I have had the same BF in Thailand for 4 years now. We are not monogamous as he is not even gay, according to him. He likes ladyboys as they are called in Thailand or TV in other places. I have been with him a couple off weeks now and every night he tells me that he loves me. I am not good with saying it back and often feel bad that I don't. I do think he loves me and I do love him. It is not the googoo gaga type of love but the one that has developed over the years of history and friendship. Perhaps, my closest thing to true love was my first boyfriend. I would have done anything for him. I even let myself stay in a horrible relationship with him for 5 years. It was bad after 3 months and I knew better but this feeling of love I had for him was unmistakable. I could not get out and as hard and often as I tried, I stayed in the relationship for years beyond what was healthy for either of us. I met two guys in Thailand who have been together for over 20 years and they are monogamous. They seem perfectly happy and content and I do see they love each other immensely. I don't see true love as being synonymous with monogamy. That has never been a part of my dream guy fantasy. When you see an escort, are you looking for an opening at love? Do you see it as possible? Or, are you pretty straight forward and it is just sex for you?
