Vinapu you kind of hit the issue with "Superiors". I got a bit more info, though with language issues its a bit hard to get it exact. It appears there are 2 policemen that handle the goings on in Soi Twilight. Their superiors came to them and said there were talks from very high up to create trouble in the sex clubs in the city. The superiors told the 2 policemen to try to clean up their area a bit so there would not be any big raids. They, fearing loss of income....told club owners, Thai only, no sex on stage. Things from high up quieted down and clubs were told non-Thais could wear clothes onstage. This makes for fast getaway if necessary. Things are a bit better this weekend. Non-Thai still in long pants, but no shirts ok. And Non-Thai boys are back doing shows, nudity ok,but quickly back to clothes when done. I was eating at Dicks last night and noticed several boys at the massage places next door were also wearing long pants, so rules extending to all places. Talking to a couple of Non-Thai friends of mine, a couple of mamasans and owner of one club, they think the worse is over, but they are still a bit uncomfortable about the situation, not sure if something is still going to come down from the top.

For me, I'll always have a good time here. It's no different than in the U.S. When the police decide it's time to do a vice crack down. I just feel bad for the guys trying to make a living. $20 to you or me doesn't mean much, but to them it means eating for a few days. This stuff happens here in cycles. Next it will be the ladyboy clubs and then the girlie clubs. It will be back to normal soon enough. It's interesting with the smuggling situation. I watch a lot of CNN and BBC and see more on this subject than I do on Thai TV. It is showing up in the Bangkok Post. But it's a lot like the religious issues in the south of Thailand, it's a long way from Bangkok and locals don't get worked up about it.

It gets stranger by the minute. Went out to Soi Twilight for a bit last night. The police affect is still going on. Now Thai boys can be on stage in their shorts as usual. Now non-Thai boys can be on stage but have to wear long pants.looks kind of strange when seeing 20 boys on stage, half dressed and half undressed. The low season is setting in. Just doesn't seem to be an abundance of tourists around. Still very hot and humid. Haven't seen much rain though in my 3 weeks. Woke up this morning to a big thunder storm and totally overcast all day. Actually with no bright sun the temp has been a bit lower than normal. Took advantage to head to Siam Paragon for some shopping and lunch. They have a food court there that rivals any. Lots of great people watching also. Get home, jump in the pool to cool down a bit. Nap time now before heading out for the evening. Hopefully the police can find something more important to keep themselfs busy tonight, than worry what some boys are wearing on stage in a sex club.

Now it's almost comical. Thai boys can dance on stage in their shorts, business as usual. Non-Thai boys can be on stage, but they have to wear long pants, but can work shirtless. It's better than nothing, at least they can be on stage. But when you see half dressed and half undressed, looks a bit strange. Many shows get cancelled because they don't have enough Thai boys. I heard Dream Boys is all Thai boys anyway so they are still packing them in. Management is hoping things will be back to normal this weekend. Costing them lots of money.

The massage places on Soi Twilight will be open till about midnight.

Police action still messing things up tonight. That's 4 nights in a row. Difficult to have shows and keep customers as not enough boys in some clubs. Tonight was a bit better. They only allowed Thai boys onstage . Non-Thai boys could be in the clubs but had to stay fully clothed and sitting in the audience seats. When customers would come in, they would try to sit close to them and get noticed. I was told they are hoping things will get back to normal Monday or Tuesday night.

I've already got it lined up. Was supposed to happen yesterday, but other boy didn't show up. My friend said we could pick another, but I really like the one we had lined up. They said wed/thur should work.

I guess the police have still been affecting the Soi Twilight clubs. It's now been 4 nights that only Thai boys have been allowed to work. This has affected business as not enough boys to do shows . Customers come in, look around and leave. Tonight there was a bit of easing up as only Thai boys could be on stage, but non-Thai boys could be in the clubs as long as they were fully dressed and were sitting in the audience. It was hard for boys to let customers know they were available , but some of them are darn good at it and got some dates. I was told they hope things will be back to normal in the next 2 days. My good friend is Vietnamese and was sitting with me. By the end of the night all 5 of his Vietnam friends that work there sitting with us. All trying to work me. I'm glad I've been around this a little bit, and can say no. I could have drained my bank account tonight. but it was a fun evening and hopefull for the boys, they will be able to start working again tomorrow.

I went back to Hero Saturday afternoon. When I walked in I noticed almost all the boys were shirtless and posing. Really trying to get your attention and show you what they were offering. The waiting room was quite full and all the rooms full. I have a regular I see and asked him about all the energy. He said, Friday the weather was so bad with all the thunder and lightning, they had almost no customers and Friday is usually big money day. So they were all trying to market themselves and make extra. Also noticed the mamasan was asking customers if they wanted 2 boy massages. He asked me, but I was all set. It was fun watching while waiting for a room . My wait was only about 5 minutes.

I'm in Bangkok now, but have to admit, Tawan doesn't have my type of boys so I walk by but don't go in. Very few American or European tourist in town right now. Mostly Chinese and they don't post much.

I'd like to see the policeman that won't accept a bribe . Most of the bars have to pay. The police are back again tonight. Most non-Thai boys sent home about 8pm. This is 3 nights in a row, not sure what's up. I asked my Cambodian friend who has a work permit why he didn't work Friday. He said his Boss just didn't want to deal with the police and only wanted Thai boys working.

Friday was a bit of a wasted day. We had some heavy thunder, lightning and rain. I was planning to go to Hero Massage. The rain and thunder I could deal with, but the Lightning was really bad. The heavier the rain, the harder to get a taxi. So spent the afternoon in watching TV and reading a book. Friday night I went to Soi Twilight. I heard rumors of police being around Thursday night, though I didn't see anything. But I knew something was up Friday. At Hot Male, only 4 boys working bar downstairs, usually 10 or so. Upstairs on Weekend nights should be 30-40 boys working, only 12. I asked mamasan friend what was going on. He avoided the question but did say only Thai boys working and everybody will be back to work Saturday night. That says police raid. I finally talk to a friend that was off last night and he said police were around checking papers of the clubs and boys. They do this a couple of times a year. Checking bar licenses and illegal boys working. Usually advance warning of raid, so non Thai boys just dissapear for the night. The worse part, because of all the rain in the afternoon it cooled off the evening a bit, so was a pleasant night to be out. I just went to Dicks Cafe to grab a bite to eat and call it an evening.

I went to Hot Male tonight. Something was up, as only 4 boys working bar downstairs, usually about 10 I went upstairs and only 12 boys on stage. Usually 30 or more on a Friday night. One of my mamasan friends saw me and knows I like Vietnamese boys. He came over and said only Thai boys working tonight. I asked where everyone was. Avoided the question, but said everybody back tomorrow. One of my friends that works there has been off this week and was do back tonight . He sent me a text a little while ago saying, I will see you you tomorrow. I asked why not back today. He said police going thru the clubs today checking paperwork. He knew things would be off so just took an extra day.

I was sitting with a Cambodian friend at Hot Male tonight. A couple of his friends (Cambodian)came by and said the police raided Fresh Boys. They said no one was arrested, but anybody than did not have a work permit had to leave. They had legal passports, but police wanted permits. I didn't see anything going on or any boys talking about it other than what was told to us by these two boys. They said they would probably be back to work tomorrow.

I hit up Hero yesterday. All I can say is the place just seems to get better. Choice of boys was amazing. A lot of these boys seem to be spending more time in the gym. Many boy next door types. A couple of borderline twinks, But not a bad face in the house. I have a regular boy I see, and as usual a great time was had. Probably head over a couple more times in the next few days. I got there about 6pm and place was quite full. My friend said right now, most customers are Chinese. Very few American and European.

I think some of my good luck comes from spending so much time here now. I've been here 3 months this year. Boys recognize you being around. After you have taken boys off, they talk. They know if your a good guy or not. Instead of looking at you, they start talking to you. I'm also finding more boys are speaking better English. This is huge because it makes it easier to go out to lunch or dinner and hang out and do stuff without just staring at each other. I've been finding that if you go to a club and pick a boy, take him home, you just have sex. If you get to spend a little time with the boy and sex isn't the first word, the sex is much better. They don't live all that far from where I did. Time to call it a night, tomorrow could be a big day......

Wednesday afternoon we got a rainy, thunderstorm filled couple of hours. Late afternoon it let up and being in the apt all day, a massage was on the horizon. I sent a text to my friend that works at Hero Massage. Said he would be there. I'm on my way. Got there about 6pm. My friend was finishing a massage but I figured I would wait and talk to him and hope he wasn't to tired. While waiting I got to sit and watch all the boys thru the glass. I lived in San Francisco for 33 years before I just retired to Ft. Lauderdale. It never got tired to just go 15 miles from the city past the 280 freeway and you would think you were in a different world. Many times on a Sunday I would just take a ride down the coast as an escape from city life.

Farang doesn't translate into Vietnamese, but it pretty much has the same meaning in any language. "Rich White Person" A couple of nights ago I saw a credit card sliding machine behind the bar at Hot Male. I said to my friend I have never seen the beer bars use credit cards before. He said, sometimes farang don't have money to pay bill or off boy, but all farang have credit cards.

Yep it's hot. I just got in at 2:30am and it's still 89 degrees. But for some fun reasons the heat didn't bother me tonight. I haven't had a 3 way yet, but I'm sure it's coming now. I met my friend on Soi Twlight about 10pm and he wanted to watch the show at Hot Male. He is in a couple of sets on stage usually, but was with me tonight and sat it out and wanted to sit and watch his friends. Just as we were finishing , one of his Vietnam friends joined us. Buy him a beer, sure...few minutes later, another friend joined us. Buy him a beer, sure. Then a few minutes later, another friend, yep another beer. We had our own Vietnamese section at the bar. They were all in such good moods, I haven't laughed so much in a long time. Kind of funny, the owner of Hot Male was there. I have met and talked to him a few times over the years. He saw me and came over and asked me if I was cornering the market on Vietnamese boys. He said to me kind of quietly that he likes Vietnamese boys to. He talked to them a bit telling them they were good boys and he was happy they worked there. The boys are on their best behavior while he is there. When he left, they all let out a deep breath and took a minute or so to get their sense of humor back. This isn't just the boss, but the owner. One of the boys asked me if we could go back and do a 3-way. As fun as that sounded, once a night is good for me. He kept quietly asking me. So I told him there were 4 boys there and I couldn't take 2, I would have to take all 4. All of a sudden they are having a conversation in Vietnamese that I can only imagine what they are saying. They all look at me and say yes. I had to say no. I had just eaten and fooled around. It wouldn't have been as much fun as it should be. I told them maybe next week when my friend gets back. They were happy with that. This one boy speaks pretty good English. I asked if 4 of you come over, what are you willing to do with each other. He explained who would do who and what . That's about $66.00 U.S It's Saturday night and a very big spend for me. Last Saturday night I went to Swinging Richards in Ft.Lauderdale and cover, couple drinks and tips, I spent $100 You can have an amazing time here, and if you connect with a boy the fun is endless. As Oz said above, these boys go out of their way to make sure we have a great trip, not just a great time. Sure it's a payday for them, but most of them do make it an issue to check up on you over the course of a trip. Even when they leave town, they will find you a friend, or 4 . But guys, don't fall in love. You can have so much fun, but I feel so bad when I meet a new guy over here and buys everything a boys says to him, and think they truly love only him. Actually didn't lose it, know exactly where I left it. At the airport in Dallas. I remembered it 2 minutes after takeoff for Hong Kong. So I'm working with my Thai Iphone4 and iPad .

Yesterday turned out to be a fun day. I have a bad habit of hanging around the apt during the day and just going out in the evening. Do to language issues many of the first texts of the day from the boys is, Hi how are you, what are you doing. I told him i was going out to get a pedicure, at Cute and Beauty, a fun male beauty salon. He asked if he could go. So he showed up just after noon. He didn't quite understand the concept of gay beauty salon or pedicure, but when we got there he watched a movie on his phone and I got pampered a bit. Considering you live in sandals here, might as well try to look decent. Finished there and it was time for lunch. There is a Pizza Hut in the same block so we hit it up. People always say to me, why there? I love pizza but they have great salads and that's what I go for mostly. This is where I would normally head home, but since I was out and with good company....I said lets go down to the river and go for a boat ride. It topped out at 100 degrees so a breezy boat ride was sounding pretty good. They have tour boats, but I take the water taxi. They go to the same places with a couple extra stops. But less than a $1. Compared to $10 or so for a tour. So we killed a couple of hours and had some fun. But we were both beat from the heat so we headed back to the apt to cool off in the pool. Jokes on me. I jumpeded into the pool and realized I now have a swimming pool size hot tub. Holy crap, the water was way beyond bathtub warm. I have never felt a pool this warm. There has been a lot of 100 degree sun the past week. I'm starting to understand solar energy. We went inside to take a cool shower. The water may have been cool, but the atmosphere was quite hot. My friend has to go home to Vietnam Sunday for a family obligation and he brought his A game. I think he is hoping I'll be feeling quite generous for his trip. (It's working). After showering, we hit the bed to finish up, which didn't take long. We both fell asleep for a few hours. When we woke, it was time to feed him dinner. Asian boys eat small meals about 5 times a day. But if you go to a nice restaurant they can pack it away. We went to Balcony in Silom, Soi 4. It was about 8pm. Being May 1st and a holiday, many locals out of town, but lots of tourists in town. So quite busy but more eating indoors do to heat. He doesnt need to work at Hot Male this weekend as he is with me. But he said he wanted to go. He needed to talk to some friends that worked there. No argument from me, hanging out with a bunch of hot boys. We got there just in time for a show. So we went. Typical show. Couple traditional Thai dances, Hot wax show, suck show. No fuck show, regular boy out of town. Big cock show. 3 Vietnamese boys working and he introduced me to all of them. Living in Miami, the fares are always in the 1500-2000 range. Higher than anywhere else in the country. I can fly Mia-jfk-gig and fare drops to about 1k. But I noticed last week some fares were running about $975.00 from Miami. So maybe this will be a trend for a little while. I am in Bangkok now and I paid $750.00 from ft.lauderdale, more than twice rio. It's hard to figure sometimes, but they change so fast you need to jump on it.
