@Foolish Can you share with us when and how you finally got your luggage? Would give some of us an idea of what happens at Suvarnabhumi when things break down like this.

Hello, I'm alive and well haha. Had a busy last couple of days cos I was stalking my fave thai actor/singer 🤭
But i did not waste my time just doing that of cos!
On Monday, I visited Pribta clinic for my half yearly test then I had a very nice massage with a very proactive guy that left me all relaxed and exhausted. I really needed that after the traumatic flight haha. My first stop of the night was at Dream boy. Was surprised to see that one of the ex-masseur at S'sense is now working there. But I was tired so I left without bringing anyone out.
On Tuesday, I went early to stake out a good spot to stalk my idol. But at night, I was at Freshboys. They had a good crowd. I don't see many new faces but left with a Vietnam boy who kept smiling at me.
Wednesday was another day of stalking as I went early to his birthday fan meet. Had a very good spot to see him up close, that was a highlight haha. With a very good mood, I went to Jupiter. Surprisingly, the venue was only half filled. The show and the boys were the same and I got bored. So i went to good boy, which had a good crowd. Alot of the cuter guys were picked, but i left the place with a cute guy from Myanmar 🤭
Based on the crowd i seen so far (mostly from china I believe), I can't believe it's the lull season. Although the Myanmar boy did say that their business is slow and they are relying on regulars... But with the golden week in China, I expect more will be coming here so the boys should be getting more business :)

The second part of my post above about the teenaged brothers sounded more sexual than I intended. It may be hard to recall from so long ago, but when I was a teenager, my anatomy was often out of control too.
I should also mention that a thought briefly occurred to me, and it was that the 2 boys knew the 3 guys and it may be why they seemed comfortable even in some proximity to each other. Perhaps one of the guys was a young uncle who brought the 2 boys to the sento.

Now that @jimmie50 has reappeared in the Cambodia forum, to everyone's relief, @Foolish is missing in action. Last we heard, he was in a massive queue to file a baggage report. I hope he didn't have to spend all night at Suvarnabhumi in that queue, or better yet, I hope he's been reunited with his luggage by now. It's a very upsetting way to start a holiday.

That's a good attitude to have when things just can't be under ones control. When you're surrounded by people who will look out for you, you can trust that the "flow" they arrange will probably turn out fine, even if in unexpected ways.
There have been situations when, having no choice but to go with the flow, I surprised myself what I could put up with and what I was capable of in circumstances I never imagined. A bit of an ego booster, then.
Good to hear you're well and adjusting to a new life!

Thank you for taking the trouble to write these reviews. They're very much to the point with useful information, though as you yourself said, ultimately taste can differ. But the information about shops and pricing are definitely helpful.

Hold your hopes in check: This is Thailand. Just because a beach needs repair does not mean repair there will be. Much depends on things like how much of the allocated budget is left after someone somewhere has skimmed off his share. Of course I too wish you're right.... but one nevers knows in this country.

    These are steep prices.
I wished the reporter enquired who the patrons of Tool Box are, specifically the patrons who choose to sit in the men's poledance area or who book the men out.

I have been admiring your very careful and patient research and planning. Glad to see that you have very comfortably and confidently made these big decisions. Does that mean that you will be splitting your time 50/50 between Cebu and Pattaya? Does Thailand allow you an aggregate of 180 days per year?

@aaroninatl you've mentioned Chiang Mai being in the mountains and therefore cooler a few times. I don't know which video gave you that idea but the city is only 300 m above sea level. Considering that temperature drops on average about 6 to 7 degrees per 1000 m increase in elevation, we're only talking about 2 degrees effect on temperature. However, being inland, the air is usually drier unlike the high humidity of Bangkok. But inland can also mean that the summer maximum temp will be higher than Bangkok, say 40-42 degrees on bad days.
Good that you're asking people you meet how they cope with haze. You may also want to ask about the hot season (after the haze).

Haha, hold on a sec. The family isn't building a new house for @jimmie50 they're building one for themselves. If they are used to squat toilets, they will build squat toilets.

Jim has replied to my Line message and said it's ok to share update with all of you:
"Hi, Lee! Well, it has been interesting. Original plans got changed, so first few days we were at the family farm tending to the rice fields. Very rural with no cell service. Definitely what I call isolated. As I expected, the fence project wasn't finished, so we are currently in his hometown with family. Cam and I are fine. No problems there. Have no been online at all, so unable to post. Electricity is extremely expensive here, so once we got to his parents house I have avoided plugging anything in to charge other than my cell phone. Hope to be in Siem Reap Wednesday...finally. lol. Go with the flow is my theme song at the moment. ~Jim"
He adds that he will post update on forum when he is in Siem Riep on Wednesday.

macaroni21 got a reaction from emiel1981 in Where have all the numbers gone?
@vinapu @hank75 @a-447 my reading is different. I don't think that's what @12is12 meant. The fact is that boys in most bars still wear numbers. My sense is that that's not the "numerology" that he laments has disappeared. What he is saying is that on the Thailand board we do not discuss the attributes and service quality of specific boys (based on their bar name and tag numbers), but that we are too coy (some would say polite/ considerate/ respectful) to do so.
I think @12is12 would much prefer we discussed the boys like cheap non-human merchandise: #115 will fuck like an energiser bunny, #193 will rim, #86 has a cock curved upwards and to the left, but the head is much bigger than the shaft, #109 has a short, but thickish one, but his best attribute are his low hanging balls that slap you joyfully as he bangs you, while #60 has what look like anal warts. Or: #72 asked for $4,000 baht, but can be negotiated down to 2,500, which is a bargain for one who will bottom for bareback. On the other hand, #132 who looks like a meth head asks only for 1,700, but he rushes things.
There's a guy on the Africa forum who does that, cock pics, sometimes face-pics, prices and all. He's breaking the board rules, obviously.

macaroni21 got a reaction from Farmos in Thailand 7 Eleven Musts
I'm with @mauRICE here: the best feature of the 7-Elevens in Thailand, Japan, and across much of East Asia, is their selection of fresher foods. They have chilled salads, yogurts, fresh fruit, sushi, ready-to-eat sandwiches for a light meal -- albeit in addition to lots of processed foods nonetheless and instant noodles. Go to those with bigger floor area, you get a better selectiion. Family Marts are just as good. The Lawson's on Silom opposite Soi 6 is one of my favourites.
The 7-Elevens in the US are possibly the worst I have ever seen, stocked 80% ultra-processed foods, 20% alcohol. No wonder @aaroninatl only goes there twice a year. He may be the exception because 7-Eleven USA must be stocking what its target market wants.
I'm just a little bit surprised that @aaroninatl has not commented on this difference between the 7-Elevens of the US and those in Thailand, but instead is still highlighting super-processed snacks. I get it though that the main point of the opening post was about what his top picks were, so it's a personal statement. Not long ago, a couple from the US I bumped into during airport transit at Narita was commenting on this (to them) very noticeable difference in a highly positive way. They were like "wow, I didn't know convenience stores could be like this."
So, here's the question for @aaroninatl: did you notice the difference? What other observations have you made about Family Mart, etc?
Re cash payments, it's a good thing! 7-Elevens are a wonderful way to break 1,000-baht bills into smaller bills, especially red 100s for tips.
