Drink 450 baht

As mamasan informed me the other day, Dream Boy Bangkok opened today.

The bar is fairly big Perhaps twice the size of old Twilight bar upstairs.

Seats are all new and comfortable sofa type.

I didn’t see anyone smoking at show time 10:30-12:00.

The bar was surprisingly full 40-50 customers.

There is a large stage at the back of the bar but the view is obstructed by the huge structural column in the middle.

The boys wear white shorts and not underwear like Twilight days, all shirtless.

The boy are mostly muscular older guys.

There were only 20 boys parading when I visited and maybe 5-6 boys sitting with customers.

If they insisted on employing only Thai boys as advertised outside, I am afraid the bar would struggle to find younger boys and average age gets higher.

After parading on the stage, they come down to the floor and walk among customers so easier to contact directly with them.

Shows are almost exactly the same as the old bar including ugly lady boys exposing cocks.

They did have a fuck show.

is Dreamboy Paradiso still opened or new bar replaced it?

It looks that industrious bar owners  found a way of resurrecting soi Twilight in new environment.

Paradiso wasn’t  closed or at least the door was open and lights were on but there weren’t any staff nor customers around midnight.

To satisfy my inquisitive nature, I went to Dream Boy Paradiso around 9:00 to see whether the bar was still opened.

Yes, Dream Boy Paradiso is still opened despite the main bar is now fully operational.

I had a glimpse of four boys standing on the stage in Paradiso.

The barker said “ same bar, same company “

Apparently Paradiso’s show starts 10:00 and Main bar’s show time starts at 10:30. 

I am not sure if they continue this parallel run of the two bars permanently or just temporarily trial.

Actually I visited New Dreamboy last weekend and you can read my detailed report about it, lol...thank you Jasper 4 d info!!! Paradiso is still open and New Dreamboy is helping by sharing the boys in parade, haa haa

Paradiso only got a very few customer as I heard from the New Moonlight who got a lot of customers...I guess its clear the audience want boys, not ladyboys as main performers.

Oh no...I didn't see the f*ck show, is it in the 2nd show??? After the 1st show, Mr. Perfect Guy and I hurriedly left 2 do our OWN show in the hotel, haa haa

If Paradiso still does not do well, its days are numbered, the downside? All the performers will transfer 2 New Dreamboy, oh no...

So the Thai boy only policy continues.

My friend’s regular guy insisted he would hate to work with guys from Cambodian, Vietnamese or other neighbouring countries.

I haven’t thought about this.

why would that be though? Fear of competition? Xenophobia? Thai superiority complex? Other? Can't really think of a "reasonable" reason....

Xenophobia or Thai Supremacy most Thais look down on them IMHO although they, Thai or other ASEANs are not that much different to us.

I would think it would have more to do with others taking their jobs away. Just like the Americans and the Mexicans. Americans are really upset that the people from South America are coming to the USA and taking all those hard outdoor jobs that Americans love. Just like the Thais are upset that the other Asian countries are coming here taking all their clients from the bar business. However, one of these I believe and the other is total BS.

Thais are being nationalistic, I think...4 me I'm already contented with Thai go go boys...but its also good when there are varieties like Vietnamese, Cambodians, Myanmar, Lao and even Indians...

I don't think the Thai boys only policy has anything to do with xenophobia.  

More likely it has to do with raids by the immigration authority who can cause problems for bars if they employ foreign workers.

But as I understand, it is Not Legal for the bars to even employ workers what are not Thai. Seems many of the bars just ignore the laws...
