Monday night i was told there were 39 Escorts working at Manhattan-Rios, they are shooting for Monday and Friday nights to be their biggest nights as it used to be at Meo Mundo! they are running special deals every week so check their FB page. If 117 garotos do not meet your standards, the day of the week at MR will not be too relevant. Depends on your tastes. 

Everyone's taste isn't the same.....he might like it.

 

I like everyday looking guys from the street....not into too many muscles.

I used to like MM, met most of the good guys that I've liked, more humble.....I also like Fragata (not the facilities).

I went to Manhattan Rio for the first time tonight (Monday)

- It is a pretty far walk from Cinelandia metro station - at least 10 minutes.  Centro is a sketchy area and at night you definitely should not walk back to the metro.  Uber was about 22 reals to get back to Copacabana

-The club seems small and I felt a little claustophobic in it.  The ceilings are extemely low.  They are not much higher than 6 feet.  My head was almost brushing the ceiling.  Very small bar area, very small smoking room, small steam room.  Everything seems shrunk here.  Much inferior to 117, Point 202 and Lagoa

-Lots of garotos were working, at least 25.  They were all guys I had never seen before at 117 or 202.  The guys are definitely not model types.  Some were cute but in a guy -next-door way.  More toned/skinny body types vs muscle.  There were a handful I thought were cute, but I didn’t necessarily want to pay for them.  Most started out asking 150 and then lowered to 100.  I think 80 would be a more fair rate, and someone said locals pay closer to 50?  For 50 I would go with a few of them.  The garotos overall seemed down-to-earth and without the attitude you sometimes encounter at 117.

-The same drag queen performed as at 202.  

-Suites were free tonight (Monday night)

-No wi-fi and my cell had poor service inside

-Overall I prefer 117 and 202.  I can’t see myself coming back here  

So there is a hydro suite! Someone was asking about that in another thread. Can’t remember who. 

And it is 1 hour for all cabins. Nice.

Yes it is clean...I just wish it was more spacious inside.  

It’s really too bad 202 and Lagoa will be gone in the near future when their leases end.  The days of spacious saunas (I consider Lagoa to be somewhat luxurious even) might be over as real estate becomes too valuable..

Thanx Sandunes ... will stick with caipirinhas, hard pass on Manhattans, for now. Though a little softened by the one-hour perk. I usually go for 60-70 minute trysts in bordels and 'love hotels', longer at home there. 

Your appraisal was fair and balanced.

Now then, how could this work if it turns out critical mass not reached with consumers who go for the exisitng type there? The price structure is attractive. Perhaps a smaller number of garotos with sufficient niche appeal to keep the rooms more consistently occupied with a smaller number of clients willing to get down to business. Low admission take compensated by higher room-rent turnover for the house and, for garotos, improved earning:time ratio ... more down and dirty time yet less down'n'dead time. 

i sent a copy of the review(w/o names) to the owner of MR and this is what he wrote back:

 the bar upstairs , the ceiling is very low but it is very cute...  Yesterday we had a very good night. The best night after inauguration day...and we have to improve many things but everybody who goes there, like the place. I have a lot of new boys and the rooms are very neat and clean. It is compact but very charming. Of course some people will not like it because of the size...The wi fi, i have but I only give to those who asks because the customers complain when the boys are always on their cell phones and don´t pay attention to them!  you can’t please everyone but i am trying to please at least 95%!  Like any new business there are things that need to be changed or adjusted it will just take a little time to get everything right!

If the rooms are for 1 hour, does that mean the garoto would stay with you a full hour if you want them to?  Or would they ask for more for a full hour.

Overall I think Manhattan Rios will do fine catering to a different niche of clients that prefer more down-to-earth guys.  The owner has done the best he can with the space - obviously there is no way to change the size of it.  

I did ask an employee if there was wi-fi and was told no.  It is possible the employee didnt understand exactly what I was asking though (language barriers).  Cell signal worked sporadically at 3G speeds
