January 2, 20233 yr Can anyone recommend other beach cities in LatAm that have similar vibes as Phuket and Puerto Vallarta? Meaning a beach connected to a city with a bustling gay scene, lots of good restaurant and bar options, etc?
January 3, 20233 yr Acapulco used to be great years ago, no idea what condition it's in now. Playa del Carmen, meh...lot's of gays, Mamitas beach attracts a gayish crowd, decent restaurants in Playa. Brasil...?? Nothing else comes to mind, I haven't been to San Juan forever, again, used to be very good......I'm not of much help, lol
January 14, 20233 yr I used to enjoy San Juan, Puerto Rico, but I haven't been in a while. Of course, there is Santo Domingo with some of the most beautiful people on earth.
January 15, 20233 yr Author Is the beach clean for swimming in Santo Domingo or is it pretty polluted? Are there a lot of bars by the beach and things going on? Are cruisy are guys walking on the street?
January 16, 20233 yr Active Members The beaches near Santo Domingo are not good. The good beaches are several hours, at least, from the city. Of course, Rio de Janeiro fits your description (beach, gay scene, cosmopolitan city) but perhaps you are thinking of a resort and not a huge, real city. Other major cities on the coast (Salvador, Recife, Fortaleza, etc.) should have a gay scene, maybe a sex sauna or two, and decent food and entertainment options.
