Grindr is picking up key words

Someone here before mentioned it but I didn't take notice 

I guess I lose my subscription 😭

It might not have been a keyword issue.  A few years ago my Grindr account was banned although I didn’t breach any Grindr Terms/Conditions.  Back then I was only using Grindr for free dates.  I suspect someone whom I rejected made a revenge report to Grindr.

Now whenever I go on trips and anticipate using Grindr extensively I bring a second device as backup. And if the date will be commercial I move the conversation to WhatsApp almost immediately.

Ironically, one day after I returned home from my last trip to Brazil (last month) my WhatsApp Business account (which is what I used for my paid dates) was banned.  It looks like (and I hope) the WhatsApp Business ban is only specific to the phone number used and I can register a new number on the same app and same device.

I keep repeating it - the broken kaleidoscope, Grindr, that we rely on to get our guys -->  SUCKS!!!

When @emiel1981 was here visiting Pattaya last week - he had a great time with a French guy that he met on Grindr and I also wanted to meet with this French guy and it took us 3 entire FULL days to make contact because of the contorted way that Grindr works.  Emiel explained to me that the view of guys that we see in Grindr is distorted because if a guy has logged off for more than 60 minutes it will not appear in our view list - even if we ask Grindr to show us off-line guys.  How absurd is this?

Furthermore, there is NO feature in Grindr to search for a guy as they don't issue you a user name and/or user ID - so we just had to wait until the French guy was online and capture his presence within the 60 minute window before he would become invisible.

Thank GOD here in Pattaya the MOST abundant number of guys can be found on the much user friendly app = Hornet where the number of guys displayed is always double (or more) than what is displayed in Grindr.  Also, with Hornet you can search by a user's ID which is very handy when you want to reconnect with someone.  You can also see who is following him and who he is following which greatly helps expand your circle when you really connect with someone - as we say, "birds of the same feather tend to flock together" - which when you like the same feathers is great but when you don't like those feathers you can avoid the flock.

Many of our local guys that want to market their services have also been banned on Grindr - and since this ban is linked to the physical phone device (not the phone number or email) our guys cannot create a NEW Grindr until they get a new phone device.  So sugar daddies out there get your wallets ready if you want to see our guys on Grindr.....

Lastly, as a paid Grindr member - 2 of my monthly fees on Grindr pays for a FULL year of my Hornet subscription.

Now why is it that the gay community is obsessed with Grindr ??  I forgot all of the reasons.....

This is exactly what happened. Grindr are not actively searching for illicit behaviour, a friend who worked for them told me as such. 
Suck it up, make a new account. Western laws have pushed these apps to be brutal, to prevent lawsuits. 
While I don't know for sure, I'm guessing they are using AI now to managing user management. From my own work, I can tell you it's fucking terrible. It gets everything wrong. AI has no capacity to understand tone or context of a statement or conversation. 
But hey, it's a good way for corporations to cut costs! I guess..

I guess it's correct. I have extremely limited experience with Grindr but those few times I used it to get somebody we were definitely discussing  compensation ( at least two times on My Aug trip )and nothing bad happened to my account

@simcity - you are right - It seems that Hornet disabled the Following hyperlink.  

I do remember in the past being able to see a list of who a certain user is following.

Consequently, I opened a Help Desk ticket at Hornet and they gave the below explanation:

Hopefully, they will reactivate this feature, as I found it very useful when trying to determine which "birds of a feather flock together**" to get in touch with --> versus which ones to not get in touch with - depending on the similarities that we might have or not have.

Grindr uses a keywords and emojis to flag potential violations of their terms of service. They were required to implement it because the company is HQ in the US, US laws against prostitution mean they are required to 'take measures to prevent it on their app' in all regions, despite ownership by a Chinese company.

Using $, MB, P4P, massage, 🤑 💵 💲 etc can flag your account for review, it used to just be in your profile but it's probably in messages as well by now.

They do also have a pretty low bar for banning accounts based on user reports too, so it's easy to catch a ban from upset guys you reject.

Sometimes you see accounts last a while with the keywords in their profiles, but more often than not the account will get banned within a few days.

You can easily avoid it, instead of 'how much $' just say 'meet me 2000'. The filters aren't that smart, just need to be a bit careful with avoiding the obvious $ and trade words.

or use another more friendly and cheaper app that does not make the process to find the guys that we want to be with much more easier 👍

Grindr has been my least favorite app (I prefer Hornet, Blued/HeeSay, Romeo) for the reasons mentioned above and for being buggy (various delays and problems that I attribute to poor programming). Issues with login and with saved messages. To the extent that I don't use it any more.

It's only one I have and don't use it much either other than putting me to sleep while being at home and combing through offerings half world away.

I tried Romeo and Hornet  but dumped them  for reasons I don't even remember, likely just too much of digital life at expense of listening up close to heart beat.

Anyway, default should be sex for fun, and I always wait for them to ask for money, never offer.

I ask them if they know how to massage.

It seems to be less offensive to who is not a money boy and opens more doors than not.

Money comes up naturally later by itself after I describe the type of massage that I am looking for.

Some time after @reader suggested the excellent idea to offer that I massage the guy, they seem to think that I want to scam them even though I am offering to pay them for the possibility.

Perhaps this idea only works in massage shops and I prefer at-home in my condo room massages.

I never discus it before massage starts. I just ask them to change places and I've had a few guys who were initially reluctant but they quickly get into it and relax. Same same with offs from bars.

With repeat guys, they come to look forward to it.
