Covid is Back in Thailand with 19 Deaths already

Thank you bkkmfj2648. Luckily for me I get the flu vaccine for free from my Health Insurance company every year. I simply cannot understand why the Thai health care system is not providing the Covid Vaccine at all now. I have a couple of underlying conditions and am 66 yrs old so I am at high risk.

I'm intrigued by the Covid vaccine issue. I remember a long queue in Pattaya Royal Garden  as residents received theirs just after the reopening , and yet today- as far as I can discern from  P- there are no nationwide campaigns. Here in the UK, I had my sixth vaccination a few weeks back..

P is annoyingly complacent about it. He's only had two and I've nagged and nagged to no avail. I thought he would receive advice when he went for a routine appointment at his hospital on Sunday....but no; not an issue. At least he wore a mask.

Which reminds me to ask whether masks are once again de rigueur among Thais again? Seldom seen in London.

Because they mutate all the time. Coronaviruses are single-strand RNA viruses, which generally mutate orders of magnitude faster faster than double-strand DNA viruses e.g. smallpox.

They mutated millions of years before mammal and 200 millions of years since mammal appeared on our planet... and still bird flu is not transmittable from human to human. So my question is: why should that virus to change his behavior right now?

Because it happens all the time with viruses, so why not now? HIV, different kinds of flue ...

Of course it needs humans for a virus to adapt to humans, so 200 million years ago it wouldnt happen.

I find more and more people are wearing masks. But there is definitely no mandatory requirement or even advice given.

yes he did,  it was quite good at mobilizing his base
