Members Popular Post Latbear4blk Posted yesterday at 04:38 PM Members Popular Post Posted yesterday at 04:38 PM Finally, the day arrived. Yesterday was the last day of schools in the network that employs me, and I had my retirement ceremony. My last day is July 3rd. My condo is in the market, as soon as it is sold and all the paperwork done, I am flying away. I will keep working part-time but only online. The first step is Buenos Aires. I think I will end my days over there, so I want to set my health insurance but not yet my base. Once my health is checked and covered, I will start slow traveling. My visits to Brazil and Colombia have been always no more Tham two weeks, and I want to get that feeling of coitus interruptus out of my system. I may start my travels with a couple of months in Brazil (Rio and Fortaleza or Salvador) and then Colombia (Medellin & Cartagena). Then I will return to Argentina to spend holidays with family and friends. After that, I do not know yet. I hope to meet some of you somewhere around the world, but my heart (and most of my time) will always be in South America. Travelingguy, vinapu, FunFifties and 5 others 8 Quote

BTW, the headline had me thinking you were going in a different direction 😝 I thought about making a joke in that direction, my friend. Look, if my current timeline survives (everything depends on when I sell my condo), in September I should be somewhere in Brazil. I still have to decide whether I want to settle in Rio for a couple of months, or one month in Rio and one in Salvador or Recife. You will love Buenos Aires, but not Buenos Aires' prices. floridarob 1 Quote

Any Casa de Cambios is a good option if you have cash. Have cash. I do not know what the situation is with ATMs. Foreign Credit Cards are a good option. If for any reasons you have an Argentine credit card (I will not make assumptions about you never again), DO NOT USE IT in Argentina or anywhere else. floridarob 1 Quote

Members Latbear4blk Posted 5 hours ago Author Members Posted 5 hours ago Taking it on a more serious note, that is one of my major concerns in this new stage. Of course no one dreams of a "job", but I do feel the need to do something productive besides enjoying leisure time. My entire professional career has been others-oriented, first in the federal government in Argentina and then in the K-12 system in DC. I've always found purpose in pleasure, but also in service. The good thing for the transition is that I will continue working part-time. Then I have my blog that I have semi abandoned, and my writing projects, always in slow motion. I am quite sure that I would not be happy if my life were pure leisure, and I am thrilled to see how all these pieces come together. FunFifties 1 Quote
