Santo Domingo - worth the wait

I’ve been in Santo Domingo since New Year’s Day and have been hesitant about bringing guys to my room because I’m staying in a nice hotel and I didn’t want it to be obvious that I was a whore. I am sharing this not to brag, but to share, and also to say it is possible to meet beautiful Dominican men who are not transactional. I still have several others who are interested, but I think I’m just going to stick with this one because he is more than enough.

One more thing that is not about sex - I’m staying in Gazcue and have been trying more local restaurants than I have in the past - found some great ones that I have really enjoyed - Adrian Tropical is fun and right on the water, and I really liked El Leñazo last night for dinner - totally local scene, really pretty restaurant, nice service, good prices, and a selection of grilled meats and typical dishes (I might go back tonight for dinner because it was so good).

I really love the DR and this has become a place that is about more than sex for me (sex is what brought me here, but every time I come, I fall more in love with the island and the culture). Perfect place for a new year’s recharge.

I met him and fully trust him. Dominicans frequently use motels. You drive in and no one sees you. If there is a problem (which I doubt) my hotel has his information.

Not to bore you with stories or to scare you... One guy I know  had befriended someone in Peru, 3 years later, he said let's go visit a friend's house.

The guy sold him to people that  drained his bank accounts, beat and raped him, broken ribs and smashed up face... he somehow managed to escape.

Law enforcement, not the best or most helpful a lot of times.......especialy in third world countries.

Go in Eyes wide open...you just met him, my 2 pesos worth.

Thanks for your concern. He told me all about his work and his family and was super sweet and definitely a legitimately nice guy. Sorry about your friend though I did have a scary experience here years ago, so I am cautious. No motel yet. I might just have him come up to my room again and sit on my face.

I just messaged you, but I’ll answer publicly. I’ve been enjoying some sightseeing beyond the Zona Colonial. Today I went to the MAM (museum of Modern Art) had the whole place to myself for 100 pesos. Fantastic Dominican art and a beautiful setting with two other museums nearby. Went to a Spanish Restaurant “El Gallego” for an expensive lunch, quite a splurge, but I deserved it. Yesterday, I went to the Blue Mall to get some high end chocolates and walk around and the supermarket “La Sirena” to buy coffee (Trump tarrifs). I have been trying a new restaurant every day, using the gym at my hotel, walking along the malecon, I got a massage at my hotel spa and set up an appointment for a facial next Monday, sitting by the pool reading a book I probably won’t finish (and will leave behind because 4 pounds of coffee), and fighting with management here about a no show fee they charged me because I thought I had changed my reservation but hadn’t, so they charged me a no show fee even though I showed up and the clerk told me I didn’t have to worry about it when I arrived…that was finally resolved today. So, it’s been a mix of low key exploring, relaxing, exercising, lots of eating and just having a great new year’s reset before I return to the shithole country I unfortunately call home.

Beyond the huge dicks, Santo Domingo is pretty incredible as a place to just hang out. I wish I had a local guide who could show me more, but it’s so easy to get around with Uber and a lot of places are within walking distance from my hotel.

I will definitely be back.
