Just a wham bam thankyou mam buy,  just like Viagra over the counter, that's all I want ,just a quick transaction

Best advice is to get it via your doctor at home, and doing all the tests regularly (every 3 months). This way it is also free (or at a very small cost).

The tests are important because

  • If you should be HIV positive you need a different medication
  • PrEP can damage your kidneys, bones or liver; especially if they are already under stress (@olddaddy!)
  • You should check for other STDs

Of course if you shop around some pharmacies (not the big ones; the mom-and-pop stores) you might be able to get it in Thailand without prescription. It's called Teno-EM. But i would not recommend that.

Best advice, in my opinion, is to use condoms. Agree about the regular testing but as to whether the treatment is "free or at a very small cost" depends on where "home" is.

Of course use condoms, i never suggested not using them. PrEP adds an additional safety layer.

For the "free" part: I am of course writing from a western perspective, and in most western countries (also in Australia) PrEP is subsidised or free via health insurance.

in the case of some patients - not saying who - an additional psychiatric evaluation may be prescribed. 😏

To be a fly on the wall when that took place, the poor psychiatrist would need a psychiatrist after that consult.

Now if I may ask thankyou, or should I perhaps be pushing it and demand that those of you in Pattaya or Bangkok ask at pharmacies💊 for me and report back please !.

Surely that's not too much to ask🤔

One must make life decisions as we get older that could impact on quality of life , oh please spare me the drama ,I wasn't born yesterday!!!

Risks in not wearing a condom vs PrEP taking ..🎵 oh baby hit me with your best shot 🎵..

I agree, his behaviour is off the charts.... especially for someone of his age.

The Thai Red Cross AIDS Research Centre (Anonymous Clinic) in Bangkok provides accessible, low-cost HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) and testing for both Thai citizens and foreigners. It is a leading, English-friendly facility offering PrEP, PEP, and consultation, with services often available for around ฿450-500 per bottle (30 tablets) for PrEP plus testing fees.

Key Details for PrEP at Thai Red Cross (Anonymous Clinic):

Location: Thai Red Cross AIDS Research Centre (Anonymous Clinic), Ratchadamri Road, Bangkok.

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM (Avoid lunch hour 12 PM - 1 PM).

Process: An HIV test is mandatory before starting or renewing PrEP.

Cost: While PrEP is free for eligible Thai citizens under universal health coverage, for others, it is highly affordable—roughly ฿450 per bottle of 30 tablets as of mid-2023.

Actionable Step: Register online one day before visiting to save time.

Services: In addition to standard PrEP, they offer "Same Day" PrEP and the "Tangerine Clinic" for transgender health services.

Good and informative post.
I'd just like to sing the praises of The Red Cross  Anonymous Clinic..
I went there for an H.I.V. test on the advice from a doctor at Chulaloncorn Hospital ("It's cheaper there than here and we are the same organisation"). (actually 210 Baht and the results either personally or by email one hour later)

To find the clinic,  (walking) follow the skytrain above you to half way between Sala Daeng and Ratchadamri stations. It is under the water towers on your left. Cannot miss it. Everyone there, from doorman to nurse are so nice and helpful.
Being a crusty old fart, I had trouble filling the registration form but a lady went out of her way to help me, so it might be an idea to register earlier online.
The clinic(Red Cross) and Chula hospital (Chula university) seem to be the same organisation BUT who owns whom?
Sorry to go off piste a little but does anyone know if they also do non sexual blood tests like cholesterol, blood glucose etc.?

Don't forget they have lifts so guys your age don't have to walk up the steps .

No use with your old knees, especially as you been on them most of your life

Mind you,  your probably younger than me but want to act old 👴👴

Surely you can use the stairs at your age .

Non-sexual blood tests? Where's the fun in that? Seriously though, you can try giving them a call @Patanawet. I think they have operators who speak English.

And going off the piss is a good idea. No need to apologise. 😉🫶
