Hotel recommendation - going in May

Hi all

I'm a regular traveller to Jomtien and will be going again in May.......I usually stay in the lovely Agate hotel but I've seen a nice looking place called " THE DALE PATTAYA BOUTIQUE AND SPA", next door to Frasers and near the bus station.

Anyone ever stayed there?........I'd be interested to know whether it is quiet or not as the main road there can have racing cars and motorbikes 🥺

The Agate is very quiet considering so don't want to regret making a booking

Quite a nice place, if getting a bit worn. I didn't stay there recently as it's a bit outside the action. I wouldn't hesitate staying there again though. It's in between a few nice restaurants and it's along the Songthaew route. It's a bit set back from the main road so fairly quiet. It's also very near the bus station and a supermarket with western products.

Thanks for the reply.......I know the area really well, and you've just answered what I needed to hear that it's not overly noisy due to being on the main highway. I dislike loud motorbike racing and would be annoyed if it was excessively noisy there 😵‍💫

Perhaps a different price bracket, but I can recommend Rabbit Resort as peaceful, with a pool, good restaurant and breakfast, well managed with a significant number of gay clientele, both long and short stay.

Location, location, location... a major issue when choosing a hotel for a holiday. Rabbit certainly has that to its advantage and much else....at a price.

Which reminds me; our taxi journeys from T21  or Big C often take us along Pattaya Third Road to avoid beachfront traffic. It is amazing how many new and chic  hotels have been built there recently. Ostentatious luxury in that location?

if I were to say in Pattaya, that road wouldn't be my choice. Perhaps marketing experts on this board- of which I'm definitely not one- could explain the rationale behind building  expensive hotels in such an unpromising area?

to cater to bus tours as it may be easier to park bus there overnight ?

(I have friend who owns family run modest hotel in small provincial European city and caters to bus tours exclusively  i.e. you can't show up and book  just 1 or 2 rooms. If there is no tour with reservation , they simply don't open that day. Shockingly they did not even  made an exception for me )

Possibly....but the hotels i'm thinking of are palaces; from the outside they appear to be 5*. Overnight guests surely wouldn't expect that degree of luxury? or be willing to pay for it, surely. But you have a good point about parking; there certainly seems to be room for that in the forecourts.

Speaking of which, I see that the buses have returned to Thappaya Road; congestion is once again an issue in South Pattaya.  The local temple must be making a fortune from parking. I watch the lines of traffic streaming into Pattaya Second Road in the evening and have no idea where they can park once the Central and the temple are full.
