sfcastro Posted May 2 Posted May 2 I will be in Jomtien this coming week and would appreciate any restaurant recommendations. I understand there will be differing views, but looking more for quality vs inexpensive (both combined is fine). Apologies for the repeat post, but the original post with the responses was lost when the site was restored from an earlier backup. Appreciate those who responded adding their comments again as I was going to use the site as my reference and did not copy the recommendations before the site went down. Quote
Londoner Posted May 2 Posted May 2 My recommendations were Sandbar (with reservations concerning the menu) and Pon's in Terminus 21, without reservations. sfcastro 1 Quote
hank75 Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Pupen seafood was touristy but enjoyable. Lots of locals eating there so it must hit the mark for them. Plenty of seating when we arrived early at 5.30 and nice beach sunset view. Overall good value, usual wisdom when ordering seafood applies. Worth mentioning that staff have no interest in upselling you as their job is to serve you as efficiently as possible so they can turn over, though they may point out specials. Compared to the scammers on Beach Road. Lung Sawai just a minutes walk away is also recommended online though I’ve never been. stay away from the other “recomended” seafood spot Moom Aroi, might be good for locals but as a foreigner I found it poor If you’re the bougie sort, Cave Beach Club and Glasshouse were nice. sfcastro and tm_nyc 2 Quote
BjornAgain Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Er' we go again. 2 3 4. You can't go wrong with The Wine Cellar, which is part of The Poseidon Hotel. On your right as you enter JC from the Trappraya Road entrance. 22/23 May is Chef Bart's next 16 dishes menu, like a Chef's tasting menu. Price normally 1200THB, eat as much as you can. Next theme is 'World of Food'. Link to menu:- https://poseidonpattaya.com/16-dishes-22-23-may-2026/ For Mexican, then Buenos Mexican in JC, just down from The Wine Cellar, else a short Bolt or BahtBus away (heading towards Pats), is Mike's Mexican. For French then Yupins in JC, across from CockA2, or Natan's which is on Trappraya Road, across from Take Care Bar which is a live rock music venue, or up from Lone Star Saloon Bar if you like your live music Texas and Country. For a really good French restaurant, then recommend La Bordeaux, which is in Pattaya, behind TukCom. Link to last week's Table d'hôte menu :- https://maps.app.goo.gl/5qCSLsJvCrFa5N5T8 In terms of posh Thai, then May's on Trepprasit Road. Else for cracking value Isan, then Zaab High, to your left as you look out from the front door of TukCom. Be warned, if you ask for it hot, it will be!! For Italian, then with a family feel, Salotto on Trappraya Road, just up from Tinnies Pies, which is ripper Aussi Tucker. Bewarned. Salotto's pizza's are big! Else Tattoria Delina which is at the back of the Jomtien Bus / Coach depot. For traditional English pub grub, then Hemmingways on Trappraya Road, on your right as you exit JC. Sports bar fee, so plenty of TV's. If it's late night alcohol soakage you're after, then none finer then 2 or 3 7/11 hot ham and cheese toasties! On the other hand, for all you can eat Surf&Turf, then The Hilton over in Pats, do a good quality Smash-And-Grab buffet, they also do an unlimited wine option at 1300THB. Depending on if you have a Hilton loyalty status or not, you can get upto 25% discount off the bill. Enjoy. sfcastro, llz, tm_nyc and 1 other 4 Quote

Londoner Posted Wednesday at 01:41 PM Posted Wednesday at 01:41 PM One of the joys of Pattaya/Jomtien is the number of fine restaurants, serving a host of cuisines- some unexpected- and at remarkable prices. At least for a Londoner. Quote

kokopelli3 Posted yesterday at 05:55 AM Posted yesterday at 05:55 AM In Jomtien there is Marcos, an Italian style restaurant on Thappraya Road Pattaya close to entrance to Jomtien Complex. Very popular! sfcastro 1 Quote

BjornAgain Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Just now, Olddaddy said: What's Yupins like ? Nice. Ensure you get an inside table, so AirCon'd. The outside tables will give you the lively ambience of the complex. Peter (Brit) the owner is a local wine importer, got the impression he services Poseidon/The Wine Cellar amongst his clients. Noticed a lot of similarities. On the 2 times I've visited, food has been good. Mediterranean in style with a selection of Thai dishes. Got the impression, that despite closing early, normally fall into the category of "farang sit, farang drink" at CockA2, so notice it closes between 21:00 and 22:00 whilst sipping my gin and FeverTree, his wine business is his main passion. Been away the last month, so unsure of status of the new resturant Schatze's, which is likely to have similar fare. Out for a wander later, so will check on Schatze's status. Quote

Read recently that 2 weeks before a major competition he eats nothing but McD's chicken McNuggets, as needs to built protein and quality guaranteed, rather than sample any of the local stuff. Quote
