I guess I really should be looking at the Facebook Jomtien complex events page to see what which & how bars are having events 🎊🍷

I usually turn up at a Balloon 🎈 🎈 party , pretend to everyone I'm a regular bar patron then eat all the food ,sometimes I bring a few containers to fill up 🫙🫙

As other regular patrons stare at me wondering who I am I usually pick some old farang whose name I overheard , and  I never seen before and shout out ' Hi John , good to see you again mate , haven't seen you for a long time , your a good man ! Remember last time !

The old Cxnt usually looks perplexed before shaking my hand back , "yes yes he says excitedly , grab yourself some food old boy he says , good to see you again " 

 

Wednesday, July 29th is Asarnha Bucha, the beginning of the Buddhist Lent and a major Buddhist and public holiday.

Wednesday, August 12th is the late Queen Mother's birthday and Mother's Day in Thailand. It's a public holiday but other than banks and government offices being closed, it's pretty much business as usual.

Tuesday July 28 is HM King's birthday. Not sure what protocol is on such occasion but  does it mean bars will be possibly closed 2 days in row ? Previous king  was known to express opinion that he is not against subjects having a drink or two on such a jubilee.

reminds me my own , kind of similar and certainly true story.

While sitting  in front of Copa hotel I saw  our member passing by. We never met before and were supposed to meet later that day. To make things easy he send me his face pic and signed message with his  real name, not forum's nick. So I called him " Hi (insert name) , how are you ?" and his face , seeing me was perplexed indeed . Suspension was broken immediately when I said " I'm vinapu ". Later one he confessed that based on my posts  he had completely different imagination of how I look like. " Dour faced, overweight German " he said . I can live with not being either.   So we had good laughs both.

Flattery wiĺ get you everywhere! Mind you there are plenty  of British people who think we still have an empire, and are important, cf Boris Johnson.
