Correct. I did not mean to imply it would cover one trip abroad that would last one year. There is a restriction on the number of days per trip. This would just be good for someone who travels extensively on multiple trips during the span of one year. floridarob 1 Quote

Hi Rob, The Allianz annual "Premier" plan (the intermediate-level plan) has a maximum trip length of 90 days. Not sure if that means one must return to one's home country every 90 days or whether one could go on to start a new "trip" to a third country for another 90 days and then (presumably) be able to return to Thailand for another 90 days. Not sure how it works, but you are right it definitely does not cover you if you plan to spend "a year" in Thailand. Aloha, Marc floridarob 1 Quote

Londoner Posted Saturday at 08:55 AM Posted Saturday at 08:55 AM Coincidentally- sorry, I'm joining this thread late- have any posters who have reached eighty in the UK found the sudden rise in the cost of premiums astonishingly large? For my thirty years of travel to Thailand, my insurance has been covered by my bank card which provides insurance through a large UK company. When I reach eighty- alas, not too far in the future- I find that it will cost me over £1000 a year for the same cover for my three trips, despite being in the flower of youth, health- wise. Well, almost. Quote

Out of interest have you ever actually sat down and read the T&C's on your bank insurance coverage. I was given it once with my card and on reading it it was almost worthless, absolute bare minimum coverage amounts for things and most of the areas I choose to pay a bit extra for on my usual policies weren't off course on there too so I didn't bother taken them up on it and stuck with my own insurer. This just in case you're ever caught out and THINK you're well and fully covered using the bank card insurance when that not not actually be the case ! floridarob, Olddaddy, tm_nyc and 1 other 4 Quote

You direct your comments at me on the basis of one or at most two posts. Fine, since you clearly like to track posts (as indeed I do!). But constantly to refer back in your childish way is just boring. Enjoy your little games. Interesting. When you repeatedly point out other members’ minor errors, misquotes or even tagging the wrong person, it’s apparently just maintaining standards, like we have any 😲 When someone remembers your own words and turn the tables on you, suddenly it becomes “childish,” “boring” and a “little game.”.... which I'm game for all three, at times. That distinction seems remarkably dependent on which side of the correction you happen to be on....were you an only child 🧒 And really, as a community we’re only looking out for you, I'm not alone in asking you about your travel insurance selection....If you ever do have to make a claim, we’d hate for your confidence that you’d “carefully read” the policy to meet some inconvenient bit of fine print that received the same quality control as those posts now apparently written “in haste.” I've been down that road and then it's too late to collect for something that you thought was covered Insurance companies are hardly famous for looking for reasons to pay more than they have to, and some exclusions, definitions and conditions seem almost designed to require a lawyer... I’d give that advice to anyone here, even @Keithambrose, and he’s an attorney, so he says 😝. He probably knows better than any of us what can be buried in the fine print. That’s probably the one place where being absolutely certain you read something correctly really does matter..... And don’t flatter yourself, I’m not “tracking” you.
