September 8Sep 8 Active Members Although not a close friend, I was acquainted with Hunter Hardin/Lulu Lovebottom, and found out yesterday that he committed suicide after he apparently timed his announcement of giving up on life to pop up after it was too late, on Instagram. He was a talented burlesque dancer, and performed at one of my parties. I knew him mainly as the friend of some mutual friends. We would talk briefly at parties, but I never got to know him well. His post simply stated "Been hurt for the last time by someone I shared my heart with 💔". I could only wish to have a fraction of his talent, which I admired. Although we weren't close, I had nightmares about his death last night. How many of us wished we could have just talked to him before. I didn't even know until I read the article in OUT magazine this morning that he also did OnlyFans. I admired him as a talented performer/dancer, who seemed to have everything going for him. Would a hug have made the difference? In my cell phone, he gave me the name Lulu Drake. I was unaware of the Hunter name. September 17Sep 17 Author Active Members I haven't been able to verify the exact method of suicide, but since he did it in a fairly small room, and there was no mess, it follows that it was probably substance-related. His room-mates were present in another part of the property, and checking in on him fairly frequently. It could have been an OD with recreational drugs. If he was an insulin-dependent diabetic (and I never heard that he was), I suppose that an insulin OD could also result in a fairly rapid death as well. As far as I know, the coroner hasn't yet announced the cause in the death certificate.

The crisis doesn't have to be immediate. Only in rare cases do they have to send someone to help, although they will if necessary.

September 24Sep 24 I think it’s very sad and one cannot know all of the backstory or clinically relevant drivers for self-annihilation, but what stood out for me from his note was the implication that unrequited love interest was a predominant one, essentially the last straw. I wonder if that was a quiet parting sting directed at a particular person. Additionally, once the time release message was out there that step may have anchored the follow-through, its particular mode preventing back-pedalling. Aborting a relief all round but perhaps the poor guy would have envisioned a potentially embarrassing ‘cry-wolf’ shadow dogging him.

I hope that wasn't involved in his decision. I know from RuPaul's Drag Race that having a feminine demeanor can be emotionally taxing, as many on that show have confessed to severe depression and/or suicidal thoughts. Some drag queens definitely look better in drag than out. However, some look pretty hot to me when out of drag. One of my favorites is Ella Vaday/Nick Collier. I definitely wouldn't have minded him as an intimate partner (nor does his husband, obviously).I guess some members would say thumbs-down to this?
