Friends, for some reason this newbie is not able to open all of the forums! Any help would be appreciated!

We have banned very few people on this site. However, we do get demands from time to time by individuals to do just that. Individuals who feel they have been abused or otherwise sufficiently aggrieved, to warrant banning a member. We as admins have to take the broad view of what is good for the community as a whole regarding contributors and personalities. We believe a broad community is the most interesting to more people. That requires tolerating different personalities. Where to draw lines about what cannot be tolerated is a sometimes a simple question and sometimes more subtle. One of the great things about forums is that anyone can post. One of the hard things is that it is easy to derail a topic. Keep topics on point and follow the message center policies. If you have not viewed them recently, go to the About Us section of the main site and there is a link at the bottom. I have spent more than a week trying to open my old account without success. This started when I had tried to change my password to bring it into line with some others. Having done that, I discovered that you need to provide your original email address. And it was then the problems started. Under PeterRS I joined the old gay thailand site about 15 years ago using a hotmail email account. But Outlook made my hotmail accounts inactive and all their contents disappeared about three years ago - at least in Thailand (I work on Macs). So no email could be sent. I seem to recall that whenever a poster quoted from another post, the poster's name was always attached to the start of the quote. It now seems that quotes no longer have the original's name. This can make it extremely difficult to work out to which post a reply refers - in fact it sometimes means having to read through a host of posts trying to find out the source of the comment being replied to. Please, please can quotes from earlier posts go back to including the names of the earlier posters!

I’m being e-mailed often by the gayguides.com system saying I should put on a profile picture. It’s happening often enough to become annoying as I dislike spam. I don’t particularly want to upload a personal photo so have tried to upload something neutral (a rainbow flag) just to stop the system e-mailing me. For some reason it’s been rejected which is really annoying. I don’t really want to have to add gayguides to my junk/spam filter as occasional messages are fine. Anyone got any ideas?

In the upper right corner, my user name and password are stored. For years I have used it to sign in. But now I get a page saying that "something is wrong" and I am referred to a new page with my stored information. That works, I can sign in there, but why the change? what is the "something" that went wrong?

Hi, I humbly suggest organizing here Latin America the same way Asia is organized: by countries. Brazil, Colombia and DR - each deserve a forum of its own, for sure. The rest could also be independant (just like the minor Asian destinations), or bunched together. There is also a rational for having within the big countries forums a city division: RdJ, SP, Meddelin, Bogota. Another point: I'm guessing I'm not the only one getting mixed up between the regular forum and the "for members only" one. It was set up for XXX items, but most of the threads there don't include them. Can anything be done to simplify and improve? Thanks…

Would it be possible to creat subforums for the discussion of useful Portuguese and Spanish phrases? I have found myself looking for words that don’t seem to be part of the standard Duolingo course on more than one occasion.

So I went to gayguides.com to find a list of gay bars in New York City. Much to my surprise, there are none. At least that was the result of my search. I entered "bars" and "New York City." Shouldn't that have come up with a list?

The possibility to delete posts seems to no longer be available. We can still edit the posts for a time period, but where has the possibility to delete them gone to ? If anyone has accidentally duplicated a post, completely deleting it is more elegant than turning it into a blank post.
