I will be in Jomtien this coming week and would appreciate any restaurant recommendations. I understand there will be differing views, but looking more for quality vs inexpensive (both combined is fine). Friendship Supermarket in Pattaya Tai has a large selection of craft accessories which my partner checks every time we go into Pattaya. This is to feed his hobby of making these models. On display at home I have monks, farmers, a fearsome -looking temple guard and even village scenes with houses. He takes enormous care when making them. The detail is impressive. Why are Thais and other Asians so attracted to the miniature? Is the Japanese love of bonsai trees another example?

Good news, the culinary map of Jomtien Complex will be expanding further with the opening of Schatze (German for sweetheart) on the 1st of April serving Mediterranean style dishes as well Thai. Located on the Agate Hotel Soi, the restaurant will be sandwiched between the hotel and the Sutiyada massage shop. For those around the Complex, owners are Joe and Ziggy (chef). Renovations are already underway, plus there will be a couple of rooms above the establishment. Seating will be a combination of inside (AirCon) and outside, totalling 30 covers.

Hi all I'm a regular traveller to Jomtien and will be going again in May.......I usually stay in the lovely Agate hotel but I've seen a nice looking place called " THE DALE PATTAYA BOUTIQUE AND SPA", next door to Frasers and near the bus station.
