The Last In The Series Marking LGBTQ-History Month LGBTQ-History month is celebrated in many countries, although the months are different. I chose that celebrated in the UK and a few other countries since the low season has approached in Thailand and there is less being written about. I believe our gay history deserves to be remembered. Wherever it falls where you live, this is my final contribution on the subject. Our LGBTQ history is almost certainly as old as recorded time. Even just going back as far as the Greek and Roman worlds, when much male to male sexual activity would almost certainly today be called pederasty, there were genuine homosexual bonds. A…

I can't remember the event, but my husband and I listened to the song "Goodbye to Love" by the Carpenters, and, as I often do when listening to old music, I asked him if he'd heard that song before. He said he hadn't, but remarked "Those lyric are really dark!" (or words to that effect). I was a young child when it came out, and it had never occurred to me to listen to the lyrics. I was shocked to read them, especially since we now know she died due to mental illness, apparently feeling unloved (she had an unhappy marriage and filed for divorce prior to her death). If a friend of mine had sung such lyrics, I would have taken him aside and expressed by concerns. It feels s…

I was amused to read, today, that a French guy went to hospital with a World War 1 shell, 16x4cm, lodged up his ass! It caused the temporary closure of the hospital, and the attendance of the Bomb Squad! The shell, and the guy, were safely defused. A rather advanced form of Russian Roulette, perhaps? One reads of unusual insertions, but I thought this takes the biscuit, so to speak. Entertainingly, the guy may be charged under French weapons legislation. Interesting to speculate what the charge (sic) might be!

FInished earlier as I had a free day today! LGBTQ-History Month – (Part 2 of 2) It is hard today for us to think of Mineo as a big star because he never landed a really starring role. Yet as a teen idol he was massively popular and had a huge young fan base. By 1960 "Mineo Mania" was sweeping America. Mineo Mania In America As the young writer/director Peter Bogdanovich who first met him on a movie set mentions in an Esquire Magazine article, “I have never met anyone quite so instantly disarming as Sal could be; inhibitions and prejudices dissolved in the heady rush of his good humor and happy conspiratorial manner. No one took himself less seri…

LGBTQ-History Month – (Part 1 of 2) Preface: Like a small number of other posters, I sometimes write long blog-type articles. Obviously readers can choose whether or not to bother reading them. I have decided the two parts of this and one more dealing with aspects of gay history this month will be my last such long ones. I hope at least some may find these interesting. February 12 sees several anniversaries. We'll skip over the birthdays of Abraham Lincoln and me, and remember only it was the day 50 years in two days time when one of the cutest and most talented screen actors was murdered. Sal Mineo had just driven home from the rehearsal for a play. Walking to…

The Santa Cruz Church is located in Kudi Chin, a neighborhood in Bangkok that's also known as "Little Portugal." From National Geographic Bangkok’s Kudi Chin neighborhood, in Thonburi on the western bank of the Chao Praya river, is a sleepy one; a jumble of narrow alleys and old houses, some on stilts. It is sometimes called Little Portugal, as it is home to a number of Thais descended from the Portuguese, who had settled here in the late 18th century. The Portuguese were the first Western nation to contact the ancient Thai kingdom of Ayutthaya in 1511. They soon became a prominent trading partner, and introduced a number of fruits and vegetables, which are…

‘Winter Olympics & Paralympics Don't miss out on the headlines from Winter Olympics & Paralympics. Followed categories will be added to My News. Follow Anti-doping chiefs at the Winter Olympics said on Thursday they would investigate bizarre claims that Olympic ski jumpers are injecting hyaluronic acid into their penises to get a competitive advantage. The claims, first reported in the German media, are based on the theory that adjustments to ski jumpers’ body suits, especially around the groin, can create the effect of a sail that can add metres to a jump. When Witold Banka, th…

A married couple and we were in Miami Beach before we'll be embarking on a cruise tomorrow. One of the couple bought a muscle hoodie at the store. After we'd left the store, his husband asked him if he'd seen that the store also sold MAGA caps. The hoodie-purchasing hubbie said he wouldn't have bought the hoodie had he known. I wouldn't have either (I guess I have to look more carefully). Later that day, I was surprised to walk buy another tourist store which sold both MAGA and rainbow flag caps, and prominently displayed them in the front window! I thought that was a strange combo. One would think that LGBTQ-friendly people wouldn't patronize a store which sold MAGA hats…

Did anyone else see the article in the Toronto Sun about a billionaire who died in France while getting penis enlargement surgery? https://torontosun.com/news/world/doctors-banned-billionaire-dies-during-penis-enlargement-surgery I didn't know such a thing was possible. I cannot begin to imagine how painful getting injections in your penis would be. And beyond the injections, what else would the surgery entail?

Sepp Batter was once a salesman of ladies undergarments. "Knickers" they were known when he was appointed President of FIFA in 1998. The World Cup is a massive money spinner for FIFA. Blatter was to become as corrupt as they come and led an organisation that was just as corrupt considering the number of executives around the world who were indicted for corruption. The marketing organisation for FIFA with its huge sponsorship revenues was handed to his incompetent nephew. It quickly went bankrupt. Not surprising, though, that Blatter was re-elected to the President's position no less than four times! Money spread around voting members talks. Surprisingly, perhaps, he was e…

Hi guys, I'm planning a vacation and would love some tips on countries where hiring gay escorts is more affordable. I am specifically attracted to muscular Black men (tops). I’m from Europe, where rates for this specific type usually range from €150 to €250 per hour. If I were to hire someone daily for a week, it would cost me between €1,050 and €1,750 just for the escort. I’m fine with travel expenses since I’ll be traveling anyway, so I'm looking for a destination where the service itself is cheaper. Any recommendations?

Celebrating LGBTQ-History Month in February The name Milton Moore probably means nothing to most people. Only in the art world might a few handfuls remember the name. For it is not his role as an artist’s model that we recall. It is just one photo for which he acted as the model that continues to strike us today. Robert Mapplethorpe was a photographer who preferred to work in black-and-white. Born in New York in 1946, he originally lived with his girlfriend, the musician, Patti Smith, for six years. She helped him with his work and was to remain close to him all his life. In 1972 that life changed when he met the man he assumed would be his lifetime companion, S…

That is the statement made today in an article in The Guardian newspaper. The full detailed quote is - Some of us have always been Instagram and Facebook refuseniks, and never publicly posted pictures of our lives or families or any of it. But it’s not the norm, and billions of people have entirely forgivably got sucked into a world where they are the product, where they work for free for the tech lords, who successfully devalued the idea of privacy at the altar of their big lie: that “being connected” via their networks is far more important than privacy; that it is a win for humanity; that it is social. But it isn’t. Societies are in a mess. Literacy’s in a mess. …

A few days ago I was discussing with a friend why it is much harder to find a hookup or date using online apps or sites than just 3-4 years ago. My idea is simple: I am getting older. No matter I good look, have some other preferences and so on. Friend told me to read post about online dating reset, In some moment it makes sense that hookup or date online game is changed in past years: sites and apps works worst than ever. You need to pay various credits and subscriptions, still with minimal chances to meet someone. Also, my impression is that most apps/sites have no goal to find person for you. I think they just want you to stay as much as they wa…

The North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirms to PEOPLE that Naroditsky's toxicology report showed that he had taken a mix of drugs prior to his death, including substances such as methamphetamine and amphetamine. Traces of 7-hydroxymitragynine and mitragynine were also discovered in Naroditsky's system, both of which are known to be common ingredients in the opioid-like drug kratom. The late YouTuber di…

Well, here's something I thought i would never see! We know that roughly 40% of men around the world are circumcised, the majority for religious (Jews and Muslims) and cultural (The Philippines, many African countries etc.) reasons, and the remainder with many allegedly for health reasons (prevention of HIV etc.). An article in today's Observer/Guardian newspaper states that the UK Crown Prosecution Service has issued the draft of new guidance for prosecutors under which male circumcision would be classified as "a potential form of child abuse." The draft CPS guidance states that, unlike female genital mutilation, “there is not a specific criminal offence …
