We are in precarious times, at least in America, where our economy is such that we are being told by our govt that "affordability" can be combated if we just manage the amount of stuff we need, want and purchase. In the spirit of the holiday therefore, IF you could only have 1 thing for Christmas this year, WHAT WOULD IT BE ? Peace and love are "givens" for purpose of repetition...... I have always been a "shallow bitch", therefore MY answer would be the following...... I WANT THIS ! If I get it as a "gift", I promise NOT to return it ! ๐ '

One thing I have to work on when I arrive in Thailand for my trips is the hours , sleep๐ค and time ๐ I have found nowadays unlike 20 years ago ,guys(boys) are available 24 hours from the apps so no need to stay up late or early hours anymore I usually rise at 4am in Australia,go to gym , then start work at 6am and bed by 8pm Now I did that last time when I was last in Thailand and it worked well, I had more energy, boys were cheaper and available, and believe it or not I had many boys messaging me at odd hours such as 730am Would you describe yourself as a day or night person?โ๏ธ๐๐ When your in Thailand are you up early hours or late afternoon?

I read a blurb about some guy called Andy Dick, who was apparently recently rescued from death with Narcan on the streets of Hollywood. Curious as to who he was, I looked him up on Wikipedia, and I've almost never seen such a sociopath. This man is a registered sex offender, and has committed sexual battery on multiple women and even girls! It looks like he keeps getting probation, and more probation. This man is a complete menace to society. I cannot understand why he's allowed to exist outside prison walls! Does celebrity/infamy protect him, or am I missing something? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andy_Dick#Personal_life

On a day when the ghastly murder of movie director Rob Reiner and his wife appears to have been a result of extreme anger on the part of one of their sons, we are reminded that anger in whatever form can have consequences. In the Reinerโs case, it certainly appears to have been the result of their son's many years of substance abuse, perhaps โ although this is only being hinted at and may not be fact - a misunderstanding on the part of the boyโs parents on how to deal with such very substantial on-going substance abuse, and a steady build-up of anger. We know that anger can be exhibited in many forms. Sometimes in an outright explosion of sorts. Sometimes it is bottled up…

After an elevator ride, my husband remarked that the language a couple of foreigners were speaking while on the elevator really got on his nerves. Although I've never remarked on it before, I would have to say that a number of accents and languages do rub me the wrong way. For example, whenever I hear someone say "me" instead of saying "my" (such as "me car" instead of "my car"), it makes me want to punch the speaker in the face. Without necessarily calling out a specific accent or language, are there ways of speaking which irritate you?

In Kuala Lumpur this week, Trump co-signed what he termed "another peace deal", this time to solve the Thailand Cambodia border hostilities. Naturally Trump called it "a momemtous occasion" and claimed credit for having stopped the hostillities. Only, as the BBC correspondent notes, the deal does not solve the root of the century-old problem. It merely pushes a solution further down the road. As Thailand's Foreign Minister told the BBC, it is not a peace deal but "a pathway for peace." What the deal states is that both parties will withdraw their heavy armaments and permit an ASEAN observer team at the border. As importantly they agreed to coordinate in removing land…

Fires in a sauna are surely exceedingly rare. In Tokyo on Monday two were trapped inside one and died. It appears to have been a chapter of disasters. A faulty door knob, fire alarms switches that had been switched off for two years, and a burnt towel that it is assumed had caught fire when accidentally touching the hot sauna stones. Worth checking all in future visits. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c14v5625l8eo

Putin has cut off internet access to Rainbow Railroad, an organization which helps members of the LGBTQ+ community in hostile countries (such as Russia, obviously) leave the country and get asylum elsewhere (most commonly Canada): https://www.rainbowrailroad.org/the-latest/russia-blocks-rainbow-railroads-website-cutting-off-a-critical-lifeline-for-lgbtqi-people This is an organization I fully support, and also has the full backing of charitynavigator.org as an honest and efficient charity. Hopefully they can at least access the website with a VPN? I don't know if the government has a way of punishing those who access the website via VPN?

To brighten the festive mood and get our minds of all those Christmas balls and fairy lights, how about a few naughty limericks? This is an old one with many variations There once was a man from Madras Whose balls were made of brass In windy weather, the clashed together And sparks came out of his arse.

We have all become too used to gun massacres in the United States. Indeed there was one on Rhode Island just two days ago. In the Sydney attack, more than one shooter was involved. It also took place near to where a bunch of Australians were celebrating theJewish holiday of Hanukah. Initial reports indicate ten have been killed including one of the gunmen and 18 are in hospital. More are being treated by paramedics at the scene. It is likely that more would have been killed had not one individual tackled a gunman. The attached Guardian article has two videos: of two of the gunmen and the hero tackling one. https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/live/2025/dec…

Isn't what's good for goose good for gander? From The Thaiger IMPACT Arena Exhibition and Convention Centre in Nonthaburi province near Bangkok will play host to at least 15 Japanese porn stars at the adult video (AV) expo, organised by AACF International Exhibition, between November 22 and 24. Even though one of the most popular porn platforms, PornHub, is banned in Thailand, Thai AV fans can still look forward to seeing their favourite adult film stars in the flesh at the major AV event at the end of this year. The General Manager of AACF International Exhibition, Mario Su, joined forces with the Chief Executive Officer of Blesstar…

For decades, FIFA the governing body for world soccer which organises the World Cup every four years, has been the subject of way more than a fair share of scandals - nepotism, corruption on a massie scale, working with alleged and virtually certain crooks, and so on. All coalesce around the World Cup if only because it generates humungous sums of cash. Next year's Cup will be no exception. Someone, somewhere, decided it would be a good idea to split the matches between the USA, Canada and Mexico. Such a good idea did this seem that in 2030 the countries will be Spain, Portugal and Morocco. Well, for the hundreds of thousands of fans from all over the world, commuti…

My guess is this was bound to happen. After their utter incompetence destroyed a Chernobyl reactor, the Russians pathetic attempt to build a sarcophagus over the zone had a declared lifespan of just 30 years. Several countries thereafter contributed to a new durable US$1.5 billion shield whch was placed in position in 2019. In February a Russian drone strike hit the shield. An inspection of the confinement structure by the International Atomic Energy Commission last week has now confirmed that the shield can no longer block radiation leaks and requires major repairs. Russia obviously should pay for these, but expecting Putin to come up with the cash is as likely as Mickey…

Beautiful and haunting song that reminds you of our humanity. The Together for Palestine fund is trying to get a Palestinian lullaby to Christmas No 1 in the UK charts in an effort to help provide aid to the people of Gaza, but also to showcase their culture and creativity. For years travellers to Thailand have complained about the dual pricing system at national parks, where at the more popular sites, locals pay 40 baht while international visitors have to pony up 200 baht. Now, according to recent reports, the USA under Trump is set to follow Thailandโs lead by introducing a similar policy. Beginning January 1, 2026, foreign visitors will be charged an extra $100 per person at 11 of the countryโs most visited national parks. For example, a US citizen entering Grand Canyon National Park will pay $20 for individual entry, while a Canadian tourist will pay $120 for the same privilege. Thatโs a much bigger gap than Thailandโs 40 vs. …

After a week of fresh clashes along the border, PM Anutin has dissolved parliament and called elections within 45 - 60 days. Anutin says he is returning power to the people. As one of the snakes in government for a long time, I doubt if many believe that. He will have something up his sleeve to ensure he gets back into power. The question many will be asking: is there any way Pita Limjaroenrat and his banned Move Forward party who clearly won the last election before being banned on spurious charges can return in a different guise in order to take part in the election? Others have done it before. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c3v11rd200yo

A word I had not read until I read it today in the CNN website. Apparently scromiting is the term given to those who overuse cannnibis and end up with a combination of screaming and constant vomiting. Acording to the article the pain is horrendous. https://edition.cnn.com/2025/12/02/health/scromiting-marijuana-vomiting-syndrome-wellness#:~:text=โI'm just begging God,rise in the United States.

If you carry your passport with you-- and you shouldn't-- it is your most precious thing when abroad, a nice plastic cover for it which kept my last one pristine for ten years is the bankbook cover. Just ask for them in your bank. At least it worked for my UK passport with SCB cover. You only need to carry a COPY of your documents whatever the money grabbing B.I.B. may tell you.

Some former porn stars aren't that private, and let their real names be known. I find it interesting to find out what they're willing to share. Some go on to become real estate agents or personal trainers. I was amused to look up one man in his early 30s who quit the business over 5 years ago. He doesn't say what he does for a living, but his Facebook page is one self-righteous Bible and/or other Christian quote after another, using the original King James translation, of all things (not even the New King James). Some people go from one extreme to another. Among his quotes: The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the Lord: but He loveth him that followeth after…

It remains one of aviation's most extraordinary mysteries, one that vast amounts of cash and years of searching yielded nothing but a few bits of debris off the coast of Africa. No one could or can explain exactly how or why it happened. Given that there are still people searching for the plane in which Amelia Earhart is assumed to have met her death all the way back in 1937, I suppose it was inevitable that a search for the remains of Malaysian Airlines flight 370 which totally disappeared of the face of earth and sea almost exactly 11 years ago would at some future time be restarted. And that is what is now happening. A vessel from maritime exploration firm Ocean I…

I've been following this model, turned comedian, for years. He lives nearby, and I've long had the hots for him (he identifies as straight, by the way). Once on Facebook (I think it was about 6 years ago), he even made a post saying he'd be open to marrying a gay man, even though he's not gay, so he could get permanent residence in the US. I sent him a private message, encouraging him to take down that post, since if Immigration Services (BCIS) ever found it out, he could be arrested and deported for immigration fraud. In fact, he's recently married an American woman. A few years ago, I went to these tiny theaters with 20 seats, in which he did comedy performances to smal…

Just a thought. Since I do quite a lot of research, this has meant looking at photos of gravestones to double check dates of birth and death. I remember my father telling me of once seeing a gravestone with the comment after the lady's name "Lord, she was Thin." Thinking this odd, he looked further round and noticed that the stonemason had run out of space for one letter was on the side. He had tried and failed to fit in "Lord, she was Thine." I plan to be cremated and will probably just try to have my name and dates added to my parents' gravestone. Not that I particularly want that, but perhaps some future generations will seek out the family history. But I do not w…
