AP reports: Police say about 50 people threw eggs and plastic bottles of water at about 400 people holding a gay pride parade in the northern Greek city of Thessaloniki. Police moved in to restrict the attackers on Saturday, but no injuries were reported. In recent days, Anthimos, the senior Greek Orthodox cleric in Thessaloniki, had publicly criticized the planned gay pride parade. Anthimos, who only uses one name, is known for outspoken speeches on social and political issues.

Although I'm not surprised but apparently most Americans were surprised.

The Pakistani Supreme Court has ruled that the Prime Minister, Yousuf Reza Galani is not legally entitled to hold the office since he was convicted in April on a contempt charge. I wonder if they cited Bush v. Gore as precedent. you remember that one? That's where the US Supreme Court decided who should be our president. Those judges, can't fool 'em!

Nearly a year after announcing his presidential bid, CBS News estimates that Mitt Romney has earned the necessary delegates to clinch the Republican presidential nomination. With 91 percent of the votes counted, the former Massachusetts governor sailed to victory in Tuesday's Texas GOP primary, earning 69 percent of the vote and surpassing the 1,144 delegates needed to secure the nomination. You may have read last week that Marcus Bachmann finally officially took on his dual citizenship with Switzerland which also automatically made Michelle Bachmann a Swiss citizen as well. I really don't understand how any gay person could even think about voting for any Republican. It is just sad the way the GOP has turned so right. (and I don't mean correct!) President Obama seems determined to double down on equality. He's threatened to veto the Violence Against Women Act as passed by the House, which doesn't include the GLBT protections as one of the reasons.

I really think the Republicans have lost their mind. By blocking this bill during an election year shows how heartless they really are and especially when they would only pay for it but cutting preventative health care coverage instead of increased taxes on the rich.
