Grab's prices are still reasonable in Chiang Mai, but slowly increasing. You are correct about Grab's prices in Pattaya, they are ridiculously expensive. For example, a Grab car from the Hilton hotel to walking street is almost 200 whereas the blue bus is only 10. Grab needs to seriously re-adjust its prices.

Yes, we were provided excellent directions and a map in Thai, but choose not to drive there in the rental car. That is why we want to rent a limo or private car service. The orphanage is located in a very small village outside of a small town called Mae Rim (according to translation). The name of the place and very precise directions are written in Thai with a very clear map. The location is about an hour's car drive from the city. Does this help in providing info requested in my original post? Thanks.

Vinapu, you are absolutely correct with your fee information. Recently I offed a fellow at BBB and was surprised at an off fee of 800. The fellow was NOT in any of the shows, just standing on the stage with all of the other fully dressed guys. I should have asked about the off fee but did not. Lesson learned: do not buy something without knowing how much it costs. How easily we let down our natural guards in certain situations: such is life.

Face it, these guys are con artists; as most people throughout the world in the prostitution industry. At the Copa, the sigh the guy held stated 400 for the room and 500 for the message. After paying the clerk at the Copa the 900, the guy then stated 1000 for his services, thereby making the entire session 1,900. BEFORE paying the front desk clerk at the Copa, I repeatedly asked the guy about the 500/400 prices. Smiling and encouragingly, the guy said 900 for everything. Again, AFTER I paid the 900 to the hotel clerk, the guy mentioned the additional 1000 as his tip. I asked for my 900 back and left. I have paid this price, 1900 and more for massages/fun, but I knew the cost beforehand, not afterwards. By the way, the Copa hotel clerk was a total unfriendly ass! I did not incur such expensive travel costs for this type of treatment! Thank goodness for other places offering more transparent, honest and friendly services. Wasn't it an American from Oklahoma who said "there is one born every minute"? I'm not sure.

Thanks guys. A few years ago I met a couple of very nice guys from Vietnam kworking at a restaurant in BKK. I decided then to visit Vietnam in hope of meeting other nice guys. However, past research on Vietnam revealed very little, if any, positive info, so I did not visit there. Apparently nothing has changed positively concerning the gay scene in Vietnam, so I will again pass on taking a short excursion there. You guys saved me a lot of money and frustration!! This board is truly a valuable asset.
