  1. I would say that Tawan consists of mostly men who might have past their prime years for bodybuilding competition. Given that participating in bodybuilding competition is much hard work & costly, only very few are actually doing it.

All others ... the hardworking ones will try to stay in shape by exercising regularly while the older daddies are not doing much to trim the fats from their bulky frame. Unless you know the guy you like is training for competition, I feel it doesn't really matters much whether it is bodybuilding season or not.

But it has been a year since I visited Tawan ... things might have changed.

  2. Just got back from Las Vegas and played much roulette. 92% protection rate sucks! The house edge is about 7% at the Venetian.

Almost everyone loses over time. That’s why the casinos make money over time. Just a matter of time before you become infected.

On a bright note, I won over 3 thousand from the greedy casinos, betting America football and roulette.

A "trick" question to ponder ...

Given that the infection probability (as mentioned) is low for a single encounter for those people on Prep but will be much higher for multiple encounters, how is it that a similar low starting winning probability in casino will get even lower over time? Shouldn't it be the case that the winning probability goes up for multiple bets?

  3. If HIV is the only disease that we should be worry about, I think bareback sex with prep sounds wonderful. I would imagine those with this mentality would be visiting doctors regularly, taking lots of doses of antibiotics to treat for those treatable STD until there comes a day when one catches one of the superbugs.

  4. From what I recall, there is actually no medicine for dengue fever. Hence, if a person is sick, send to hospital, at most they can do is to put the person on IV and/or treat the symptoms (e.g. fever medicine). Mostly, it all depends on the individual ability to recover by his or herself. And antibiotics is actually not useful in this case 'cos dengue fever is supposedly a virus not bacteria infection. Doses of strong antibiotics will actually cause more harm to the liver n kidney than helping the person.

Another effective but expensive known alternative "medicine" is Porcupine Date (in Chinese is called "豪猪枣"). It is intensely bitter. Less than a gram of it may cost over a thousand USD, but is usually enough to rid the "poison" left by the dengue fever out of the body, the person platelet & white blood count will stop dropping, with rest, the body can then recover.

  5. I got Dengue Fever for the 2nd or 3rd time a week ago. I let it go too long and my kidneys were shutting down. I was lucky to get to the hospital in time and got pumped with liquids and antibiotics.  Again, Bumrumgrad was amazing and they treated me in the daytime with IV's for a few days as I didn't want to stay overnight.   I was a bit shocked this is what it was as I have not been out a lot. But, the doctor said they now had a vaccine for Dengue Fever. Has anyone heard of this?  Done it?

In Asia, catching dengue fever is not uncommon. I have seen quite a few cases of the workers having it (the blood test confirmed it). Personally, I recommend drinking "raw juices" extracted from the fresh papaya leaves. Juice from one big leaf, 3 times a day. It is effective and cheap.

  6. ...Another piece of info on tips: one of the guys at Spa Bangkok, who took a liking in me and went for dinner (and then home, but not for money) with me after a massage, told me that they get absolutely NOTHING there from the shop, no daily minimum salary, and not even a cut from the passage price that goes to the shop. They rely on the tips exclusively. Don't know if and to what extent that is true at other places. Was going to ask my regular at Prime at some point about that.

I tried a 2hr (1hr Thai + 1hr Oil) at Prime back in Feb 2015. The boy told me he will get 200bht from the 600bht massage price.

  7. I remember soda also told me he wanted to go back home and become taxi driver. I guess he finally did?

Any face pic of Soda? I can help to look out for this hot taxi driver in Laos. Let's begin the search for Soda!

  8. My family & I have experienced with bed bugs & cat fleas issue before.

For the bed bugs issue, it happened during one of the warmer months when we tend to sweat a lot. A few of us noticed that my dad has lot of skin "bruises" with blood stain on his arms, legs and that he keeps scratching his body due to itchiness. We too felt that our body were itchy at times. Then we saw some bugs crawling on our living room sofa and realized that it was bed bugs. We managed to trace it to my dad's bed which was infested with bugs & its eggs (literally armies of bed bugs crawling at the edges of the mattress & under it, all over the wooden bed support), blood stains all over the beds & smelly too. Apparently, due to old age & other health issues, my dad was not even awared that he has been bitten by bed bugs repeatedly for a few months. When he felt itchy, he will scratch, sometimes crushing the bugs & leaving smelly blood stains, but mostly his scratching action caused his "fragile" skin to tear & bleed.

What we did was that we threw away his bed & mattress, spray the corners of his room with some chemicals, vacuum his room as well as the sofa, washing the clothes with warm water ... did the trick to rid our house from bed bugs.

What I believe is that the bed bugs need to eat human blood to survive & will stay close to its food source. The warm weather & the smelly sweat will activate & attract the bed bugs. Some bed bugs might actually be from the wooden furniture (its eggs activated by our sweat). IMHO, throwing away everything that you suspect might have bed bugs is just unnecessary & wasteful.

The cat flea issues (originated from my workplace) was actually more frightening that the bed bugs ... 'cos the flea can jump around. Hence, spraying chemicals at the room corners is not useful. Chemical fogging is suggested by the internet. But what we did was basically washing clothes with hot water, wearing socks & jeans that cover our legs, daily vacuum of our house. Of course, I observe the basic common sense of going directly into the bathroom, shower & change of clothes immediately after I step foot into the house & before I enter my room. Again, we do not panic by throwing away clothes or things.

  9. Although I often do short time My preference is to off the boy at about midnight and to have him in bed with me until about 9 or 10 in the morning. I’m versatile but on waking up I’m most definitely top so specifying his time of departure is important. Also I quite enjoy buying them breakfast particularly if they speak some English and very occasionally offering them more money to accompany me to the beach.

Morning wood? How do you still have that? You must have taken good care of yourself. I rarely experience that anymore after the age of 40. Or perhaps waking up to a hot boy next to me will help? ... I still have yet to try LT off...

  10. ..I have had a bulging disc in my lower back for almost two years now.. It pinches on my sciatic nerve, causing pain down my right leg, from hip to knee. Nothing has been of much help as far as improvements. I have had numerous epidurals, and visit a chiropractor regularly, but no real, long term inprovements. And the surgeon says I am not a candidate for surgury.  My latest ailment has been some pretty intense heartburn/acid reflux. This has  been going on for a few weeks, and intesifying before the trip. I went and got checked out to make sure it wasn't a heart issue, and after and EKG, exrays, etc, I was told my heart and lungs were normal. I got the pain under control before I started my trip, so I was hoping it would be manageable while I was vacationing...

Since you are from US, the chiropractor that you visited is he by any chance Dr John Bergman?

I have been watching lots of videos from Dr John Bergman youtube channel. Supposedly, your sciatic nerve problem could be caused by an unstable pelvis, your bulging disc & heart burn issues may mostly like due to the loss of the spinal curves in your neck & back... I liked his videos explanation and thought that the videos are very informative & practical.

For indigestion issues, perhaps you could try the following tips:-

    1. do not drink water 30mins before or after a meal.

    2. for serious indigestion, you will have to avoid all food that are difficult to digest or can cause stomach gas bloating issues. If you have this issues for quite sometime, I am sure by now you would already know what food to avoid or to avoid eating too much.

    3. try the Japanese Water Therapy i.e. drink 800ml of warm water on empty stomach the first thing in the morning before you brush your teeth. Wait for 45mins before eating any food/breakfast.

    4. The doctor's prescribed medicine for acid reflux (one that neutralizes the stomach acids, the other is the proton pump inhibitor) is not really the solution for long term. According to the theory I read, most heartburn/acid reflux is due to low stomach acid and not too much acid. Indigestion causes food to ferment ... hence produces gases which in turn causes acid reflux ...

    5. Taking digestive enzymes will be useful. Limiting water intake during meals is still the most important.

    & so on ...

  11. In Buddhism, the belief is that if that person does good deeds or someone else do good deeds in the name of that person, that person will get the accumulated merits, be it alive or dead. Good deeds may include freeing animals from captivity, chanting buddha name, providing meals to the monks (who will also chant for the dead), donations to help the needy ...

A person's state of afterlife is solely dependent on his accumulated merits and not govern by any divine beings.

Oops ... I forgot the most important point ... the afterlife is also & very much dependent on the person "state of enlightenment / detachment".

  12. I know little about the Theravada Buddhism or other religions in Thailand, but, would their divinities provide a better afterlife to a person if more money is spend on earth to honor them on death?  This does not sound... very spiritual,  but, who am I to judge ?

  13. I heard that a very popular handsome boy of Dreamboy Bangkok had a bike accident and broke his leg. I wish him a speedy recovery.

Most of us get paid in the similar situation while in employment but I wonder if he gets any from Dreamboy.

Sometime we forget how precarious boys working life is.

No doubt some of his loyal customers would receive “help me” LINE messages.

I think it will take about 3 months to recover.

  14. Good experience with potential theft... Met a lovely Thai fellow on the street in Jomtien.  We went to my room and had a wonderful time together.  After some fun he went and opened up a bottle of scotch from the mini-bar and poured himself a drink!  I did not say anything but did make a slight questioning look on my face?  He noticed and smiled and informed me that he was the manager of the hotel!!  Sure enough, about ten minutes after he left one of the staff brought an unopened bottle to the room!!!

How nice is it to just be able to relax in the hotel, without the need to go outside, and be serviced by special room service?

This manager sure knows how to work & play at the same time!

  15. ...

As I said , at Tawan I’m marked men so of course his tip request was inflated, but I settled on 4000 I paid to other two their boys hoping I get value for my money ( and stabilize some heart beat rates of people reading this ). ..

You have "UP" the game so to speak. I just hope the 4000 LT off fee wouldn't be the standard rate for other clients from now onward. :)

  16. ...

    Hope it helped

    It certainly did!

Don't laugh... but I am the type of person who needs specific step by step guide in dealing with something that I am unfamiliar with.

I keep wondering on how to approach a boy ... Do I stand nearby at some corners and stalk the boy? Do I keep walking past them till they take notice? Do I go forward to tap his shoulder and ask to talk to him privately? Haha ... most probably I would never do such things. The most elegant way is still to have an eye contact before more interaction can follow. That means I cannot remain inconspicuous while in the bar. I have to make some eye contacts with the boys for them to have an impression of me.

Thanks for the long post in detailing the various scenarios and what to do. Detailed trip reports like yours are my survival guide for having a good time in Bangkok and much more.

  17. ...

Last year I spotted Tawan boys, Boy#15( left for good) & Phet #51 (entertained you in Day 1) a couple times at a food stall called “ Thaniya Bar Beer” opposite side of Thaniya plaza in Thaniya.

Last month, I also saw Jupiter boy Bang#69 drinking in the place where many Thaniya bar girls eat after work.

The place offer excellent Chim Chum. Highly recommend.

    ..

I took a screen capture from Google Map. The right-most side is the Thaniya Plaza? Is this "Thaniya Bar Beer" stall on the left-most side of this photo below? Is it one of those roadside makeshift night stalls?

    ...

Yes I noticed it that Thaniya seems to be popular with bar boys after shift- saw few Jupiter boys eating there or passing by so it may  be good after hours hunting ground for those still empty handed or trying to economize.

How do you do it if let's say you walk past that spot "Thaniya Bar Beer" stall & discover a few of the Tawan boys sitting there eating & chatting? How to approach them & ask one of them for a possible ST/LT off?

  18. Its true..one of mamasan in dreamboys told me chinese only want to see the show but never offing..the worst is they are straight and coming with their couple..

Not true. Go look for yourself. Chinese do off boys. Mamasans will tell they don't off hoping you feel bad for boy. Then you will off boy.

    Maybe both viewpoints are true.

With straight couples or straight friends around, less likely to off boys, come as group & leave as a group to their next fun place. Being solo or with gay friends, I believe they do off boys. For instance, when I am with my straight friend, we will just watch the show and then go to places for a drink before going back to hotel. Nothing will stop me from offing the boys if I am alone or if I am with gay friends...

  19. ...  waved him over. He did not want long time  because his friend and my companion from last night warned  him about sleepless night but ‘till 4 OK “ was  quoted and accepted with my internal smile of  “finally nailed” type.

How to get enjoy a good/eventful LT off with boy and at the same time have a good night of sleep? I am not sure if it can be achieved.

I like the idea of LT off with a hunky man by my side & to wake up to. But if the boy has a day job and has to leave at a certain hour, I always wonder would it be too demanding to have another round (albeit a more tone-down version) in the morning. From what I read, it does happen if the boy is of the twink type. Most probably, it will not happen for hunky type of boys.
