  1. Your response to your friend should have been I told you he was Cuban, which he was, what concern is it his color....interesting...I would have had to side eye that person...since there was a clear motive to that question... I traveled to Nigeria and saw every hue across the board from coffee creamer light to charcoal black...there are tribes in Africa that are very very dark but most Africans run the spectrum thanks to the colonizers.... As Americans, we African American don't define our color to anybody except other black people since most only see black...when you travel to other countries, there is where the defining become finite because people either are very proud of their identity, ie, many Afro Latinos OR in the case of some Brazilians, ashamed of their black blood but because of appearance, cant wish or lie it away...
  2. My personal experience was that it was welcoming and I had a great time but it didnt have the same vibe as Rio or the diversity in the people and I actually like the beaches in Rio better...
  3. I understand your response may be based on your age and generation....You tracing your family history has nothing to do with what you stated (although kudos to you for doing that research) The newer generations....those who are a little more "woke"...the ones that do travel more than our parents and grandparents ever did understand that those of us who speak Spanish or Kreole, or French or Portuguese are just as black, they were just raised in another country, with very similar cultures and foods, etc..but when you look at some of them, they could definitely be a part of your family....or mine....
  4. Every country in South and Central America as well as the islands was touched by the slave trade in some form or fashion and have deep histories Africa....hence the term Afro Latino or Afro Hispanic... You can break that down by country based on how somebody looks OR how they choose to identify... I would suggest when you have time to do a little research...you can even use google and look at how much African influence is in those countries south of the border...
  5. This is why it is extremely important to proof read what you type...This right here is racist as fuck... Underhanded racist compliment....
  6. Interesting heading but I get what you are trying to ask...Also noted that it was about time the question got asked since most of the posters seem to be enamored with Europeans traits even when traveling to a country that has has a higher percentage of black and brown people anywhere else in the world except Africa...(go figure) I hope more of the African American posters reply with their personal experiences and opinions... I personally LOVE and prefer people of color....POC...I love melanin, naturally tanned or bronzed or black skin as well as the features that many POC have whether they are "black Brazilian", Dominican, African American, or Afro dot dot dot.... I have been to Salvador and enjoyed the people there and plan to go back more often...Rio just offers everything that I like and its easy...I know how to get around, how to get to the saunas, flights from Atlanta are less expensive for me to get there than other parts of Brazil...I LOVE beaches...especially Copa and Ipanema, I know the Samba scene there and I have friends there... But I have also been to DR...tons of people of color there...including sexy Haitians, Jamaica(really dont have to go back there), Puerto Rico, Panama, the Bahamas, S Africa, Nigeria, Egypt and a ton of other places where POC turn me on and I just prefer them... Currently in Madrid and cant help noticing all the hot Dominicans who work over here and have seen a few very hot African hustlers....selling shoes and purses not ass... I'm cool with everybody's preference and they all stem from somewhere or something... I don't get into fetishing anyone sexually based on their race which I do find happens among other communities but again, to each his own...
  7. Well SAID... They are hanging out at your place versus hanging out with YOU... And I agree, I am NOT trying to befriend any of those guys...I want you to be available when Im in Rio and thats about it... At this age, I don't want or need new friends, especially those who basically want me for my money and I just want for some sex.... Gotta learn how to set boundaries...
  8. Your reality is yours and yours alone...Thanks for the insight I can definitely imagine that guys will quote higher rates because they dont want to go with a guy...But again, when you are in the money game, you go for the most you can get, IF you are smart so those boys just got more money from a wealthy American.. I can also imagine having tons of free sex with Mexicans...(I still need to get to Merida to see what these hot Mexicans look like, since the ones I encounter in GA are NOT hitting on shit) but when you say FREE, does that mean some the 9 guys just wanted to have sex with you and got not a meal, not a snack, not a drink, not anything out of it? No matter how well preserved you are and how young you look (by the Grace of God) we have established that you are a seasoned gent *don't have the old cat daddies flocking to Mexico thinking they are about to come up on free sex because you are As far as the 23 yr old, that goes back to what I said....defining dating is so different based on the person....Your dating may be my fucking regularly or somebody elses "we hang out on a schedule" Does he have a dad complex? I know some guys definitely get into that Are you monogamous...he is he monogamous- hell we all know the answer to this Are you paying tuition, housing, giving an allowance... **I remember being a young guy only interested in older guys myself....I wasnt necessarily interested in the guys but what they symbolized-Stability, maturity, careers, money, etc...(I have never been a fool) Once I established these things on my own, I no longer liked being "kept" What ends up happening, is that based on what you contribute and the little details that are left out (minor details) some guys who arent as sharp as others misunderstand that there ARE details that are missing out...
  9. I have no doubt that he has an amazing personality and guys are drawn to him, especially after traveling to Brazil for other 20 years I think the point that was made by the other guy is that money talks... Its cool to fantasize the sauna scene and the hot boys in Rio for loving us (any of the guys who actually travel to Rio) for our looks or bodies or personalities but it definitely boils down to MONEY...then how you treat somebody If you know that you will get guaranteed money on a bi monthly or quarterly basis, you will keep ties with that person especially IF you enjoy their company... You can disagree with somebodies views without it being an argument or a battle of balls... ***I like reading some of the views that guys post on here on how they deal with guys and how the guys deal with them... Unless the relationship is monogamous and you retired the sex worker, this aint Pretty Woman... Again, not sure WHY I always feel the need to say again in regard to commenting on something said about Tomcal (probably because I don't want shit with his Tomhive) I am not taking anything away from him but lets play a game Tomcal goes broke (knocked on wood that does not happen) he changes how he travels to Rio or where he stays or how he treats the guys who regularly spend his trips with him...(how generous he is able to be) Im sure things would change JUST like that really good looking girl or guy that used to get stares all over the place that gained a ton of weight or that ex ball player that used to be the shit when they were playing and since retiring, are suddenly a nobody... That being said, Good for him for being able to do what he can... If you want to be able to have 4 guys stay with you when you travel to Rio, he is your man on info and pointers...
  10. I love the beards on most guys...young guys without beards just look extremely YOUNG but to each his own... Beards turn me ON....
  11. Depends on how you deal with them.... Are you "dating" them? Connecting for sex? Trying to develop a friendship... Those are all variables to take into account
  12. Having a lot of money, knowing a little Portuguese, knowing where to go to find boys...It isn't that hard... Its called supply and demand..Plain and Simple You find boys (or girls) in some type of need, money, housing, attention, and cater to that...Gets done everyday in the world... Not taking anything away from anybodies fun or escapades but It Is What It Is... I do find the idolization interesting though...But that says more about the idolizer than the person being idolized...
  13. Same here....24 hours a day with the same dude would probably drive me crazy even if I really liked the person...when I don't travel solo I prefer to stay in my own hotel room or at least rent a house with enough space for my own space...
  14. Never say never and gifts can be something as simple as buying hygiene essentials versus underwear or tennis shoes....it would be things that you did not take into consideration...since they are essentially on your dime
  15. Headed to Barcelona in July for Pride... I havent done any gay parties in Madrid and would like to get info on what there is to do for fun as well as saunas...stuff that I can't google and find would be useful... All set for food places I want to try but would love to know some good gay bars AND definitely saunas... Thanks in advance...
  16. I never take sand to the beach because the cost never would equate to the pleasure (too many treats in the saunas, Grindr and on the beaches in Rio)expensive even by American standards when you add up their daily fee of about 400R, airfare, lodging, food, and entertainment... Make sure you know what their expectation for compensation is so you don't have any issues during or at the end of their visit...
  17. Depending on when you go to Rio...try a samba school practice... Mangueira is one of my favorites but there are tons of others....loud music, tons of locals-HOOOOTTT eye candy and you learn a lot about Brazilian culture... You may want to go with a local until you learn your way around Rio...
  18. Your dad is probably a smart man and values his MONEY!!! Truth is, anything tastes great and amazing based on how hungry you are...Just like depending on how horny you are or how hot the guy is, local won't mean ish.... Had Thai food in Bangkok and it was great until I went to a Thai restaurant in Atlanta and was like, this shit is good too..(Panda Express IS good) Had Brazilian food all over Brazil then went back to Fogo De Choa and thought, same quality, maybe even a little better... Let me know when you have sex with a Brazilian guy here in the states.....Smile
  19. Are you sure that was a look of jealously? Or amazement that you could make so much much noise? LOL Just joking!!!
  20. And that is the going rate these days...WHAT THE FUCK!!!! Some of those same boys are fucking for free, right time, right situation... Ill go to Brazil any day before I pay $300 for an hour and the sex isn't guaranteed to be mind blowing...
  21. Great article on skin color and education exclusion which has a large impact on generational poverty as well as generational wealth based on those who have access to higher education thus having opportunity for higher paying careers. https://revista.drclas.harvard.edu/book/skin-color-and-educational-exclusion-brazil
  22. Great arguments on both parts.... Something to note is that even though both Ali and Pele were kings in their perspective sports, the racism that they would have experienced would have been different... In the US, no matter how much money or fame a black (light or dark skinned) man would have amassed, he still would have been looked down on and any white women who would have been in a relationship with him or married would have been looked down on in the 60s and 70s....Even though there were tons of black actors and athletes who married white, it was definitely more discreet and not a way to fame the way it is now....ie, you rarely saw photos on James Earl Jones or Sidney Portier wives...while Pele PROUDLY displayed his white women on his arm and they were proud to be with him because of his fame and wealth Color is definitely a bigger deal in the US versus Brazil, when money is concerned...no matter how much wealth or fame you accumulate, your race will never be mistaken....ie, Obama, OJ... In Brazil, it is overlooked and has been acceptable for longer when wealth is involved... Aside from white land owners having Afro-Brazilian mistresses and brides, the products of those relationships were able to then marry lighter and whiter which was not the case in the US... Here is was more lighter and lighter marrying to create lighter offspring, ie New Orleans and most of Louisiana, part Haiti, DR, damn near all other parts of Latin America... There biggest difference in the whole black and proud movement is that in Brazil, there was no movement so Pele was just happy to have risen from poverty and to be accepted by other who were in power... Something that I find amazing is that white there are large numbers of athletes and entertainers here that choose to marry and procreate with white women, the number is so astounding in Brazil that it was a HUGE deal when one major Afro Brazilian male actor that married another black actress....because it is just not the norm
