Since retiring my daily regiment usually involves reading several newspapers or news websites. Sometimes this takes a few hours of my day but as least I feel well informed. Here is my main list: First is The Courier Journal (Local paper) Then usually I go to: Chicago Tribune Atlanta Journal Constitution Miami Herald LA Times San Francisco Chronicle Montreal Gazette (Canada) CBC News (Canada) BBC News (Europe but lots of world news coverage) The Guardian (UK) Colombia Reports (Colombia) Bangkok Post (Thailand) Indianapolis Star New Orleans Times Picayune CNN Fox News... I know many dislike Fox but I find some interesting stories there you don't find elsewhere and links to stories around the country due to their local Fox stations news coverage. New York Post (For my daily gossip fix) Bloomberg Business News So what newspapers and/or news websites do you read daily online?

My F4F friend, about a year or 2 ago had to move due to his apartment, in a secured building, being stripped while he was at a party (even stole his Hugo Boss underwear I had bought him) None of the multiple neighbors saw anything when multiple trips would have to of been made to rob him of almost everything. I love Colombia and I love the city of Medellin, but one must not have a false sense of security.

I have been watching many of the GOP debates because I am sincerely searching for an alternative to Pres Obama. With him, HOPE is now disappointment and frustration. I too find some, if not most of the questions asked to be so stupid and just trying to stir some headline shit from something that does not exist. The ECONOMY is the people's number one concern and the debate moderators seem to almost ignore that issue and fail to push the candidates on any real plans to correct the problem. Saying your going to help create jobs is one thing but they need to push them, in detail, as to how they can do that. The George S question was just so out there it was stupid.

I will admit to being a Tebow fan. What is wrong with a guy being religious? I think something is seriously wrong when we priase and make quarterbacks heros like Michael Vick (who goes to prison for running a dog fighting ring), Big Ben Rothenberger (who gets suspended for allegedly sexually assaulting a girl in a bar restroom), Brady is known to have a parade of models flowing thru his Hotel rooms every night, A Chicago Bears player gets arrested a few weeks ago for drug dealing with Mexican connections, this list could go on and on. Let's not forget Kobe Bryant and a few other NBA players getting fined for Gay slurs last year, Kobe's directed at a ref. But yet we demonize a guy that seems to be a good fellow just because he is religious. What happened to freedom of religion in this country? He isn't forcing religion on anyone he just thanks God for everything in his life. If he has a true belief in God he should thank him for the priviledge to play and be successful in the NFL. Instead people hate Tebow and hope he fails. I think something is seriously wrong in this country with the Hate Tebow gets for trying to be a good guy. As a NFL quarterback he will win some and lose some, either way I wish him well. Pro Sports needs a few good role models. If you believe in God maybe Sunday's game was his way of taking care of Big Ben for that alleged sexual assualt and if you don't maybe it was as one may say "Karma can be a Bitch".

Well I do not visit or contribute as much as I use to, mainly due to general daily life issues, but count me in and I'll try to do better. I'm at 783 posts.

As I have mentioned in another thread some time ago, I had met a Colombian F4F guy about 5 years ago. We got to know each other fairly well online outside of the F4F site (MSN messenger). I visited him in Medellin several times over a 2-3 year span and even took him, and a friend of his,to Rio for a week. When I was forced to retire a few years ago,he stopped contacting me, I guess figuring the sugar daddy days were over. I hear from him maybe twice a year now. I'm not complaining, had a great time, memories, and fell in love with Colombia. There are some safety issues there but with having my Colombian guy and his friends with me it never was a real problem. I had a great few years and made several trips there. If it works out be sure to have your Colombian friend, if he is in Medellin, take you to Lleras Park to eat at one of the restaurants at night and to hang out people watching. But beware, my Colombian guy told me of 2 stories were guys had gone to meet a few F4F guys and these guys basicly had things taken from them by the F4F guys they visited and left the visitor high and dry in a strange country. I'd strongly suggest getting to know the guy online, outside of the F4F site for sometime, before planning a visit.

He was one of the first to oppose DADT and advocate for it's repeal. He has consistantly opposed the Patriot Act and it's reauthorization due to individual privacy concerns. He has been a strong supporter of stem cell research. He has supported the authorization of tarriffs against countries that purposely deflate their currency, like China does, and he actually opposed NAFTA against the wishes of Pres Clinton.

He was unique and funny and had some good positions. But he was in up to his neck with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and bears a good deal of responsibility for the real estate mortgage collapse that is the foundation of our current econonmic mess. He constantly opposed and openly blocked legislation in committee that would have reigned in Freedie and Fannie for years and pushed for them to have no oversight and a free hand for bad loan guarantees until it was too late. Why say he was such a great Congressman just because he is Gay? I think he should have quit when Fannie and Freddie had to be bailed out and both probably will have to be bailed out even more in the near future.

Last Monday I took my best friend to the Mercedes dealer to look at and test drive his dream car.... a Smart car. He has wanted one every since I brought back a brouchure from a trip to Europe before they were available here in the USA. During the test drive he said the transmission was very jerky, and kinda sucked while trying to drive, shifting at strange times with a jerk. As a passenger I thought it was going to flip over on a windy day while traveling a small curve on the expressway. So sadly for my friend The Smart car is no longer his dream car and his bubble was burst on the test drive. Now he is thinking about a Mini-Cooper. I keep trying to get him to take a look at an American car but he likes small European cars.

But one must also realize that first and foremost we are human beings and being Gay is just a part of who we are and that part of my life has been just that.... a "Part" of who I am. Interesting question but to me to say I would choose not to be Gay is like saying there is something wrong with being Gay. I will admit when I was younger, growing up in a conservative Baptist family, I may have wished I was not Gay. But it would have been because of what others wanted for me and not really what I myself wanted. Unlike many Gay men I actually have 2 grown children and 3 grandkids that I am very proud of. That as a result of "trying" to be straight at a younger age, because that is what others wanted for me. I do not regret those younger days because of my children but if I was born in a different time, 20 or so years later, I doubt my children would exist. I can now look back on my life as a "Gay man" and I can happily say I have had a great life and can not imagine how in my wildest dreams it could have been a better life to have been straight. So NO, I would not choose to be straight if I could. Now if I could choose to still have my hair instead of balding or to have a bigger cock I might choose that.

And as for Dodd and Frank, both of those guys were up to their necks in helping create this crisis with Dodd and Countryside and both protecting Fannie and Freddy. New York's finest are not the only ones with problems. I read numerous newspapers online daily and police issues are getting out of control all over the country. Reading the Miami Herald and the Miami police are becoming a disgrace. Millons of dollars in payouts in Atlanta to police abuse victims. Federal Civil Rights convictions against officers in New Orleans over killing people and covering it up. Denver is replacing their Police Chief after numerous Police Brutality issues. The saddest has to be the beating death of the young homeless man by the Fullerton California Police. To hear the recording of the young man with mental issues yelling for his daddy to help him as he is beat to death is one of the saddest things I have ever heard. Sadly this is just a beginning of what is a long list of Police issues across the USA. From reading it appears to be getting out of control.

OK, as a Wall Street protester you would have a "reason" but when the media talks to them I NEVER hear what you are saying like you did from any of these people. I hear stuff all over the place, even saw one guy protesting for Communism and numerous wanting their college loans forgiven. NEVER hear a solution from anyone they have interviewed. So go protest, this is America and I defend anyone's right to protest (but not necessarily to occupy public or private space forever). But give some solutions also instead of bitching like a Tea Party person. So you and others don't like the banks, what is your solution? Maybe you can invite the homeless to your private property to occupy for a while? So what is YOUR solution since you have a protest issue? The protest in my city stopped after the media quit covering it on the news every night. Even though the city gave them access to a city park across from City Hall to get them off a private plaza. I want to protest all the people that do nothing but bitch and never offer a solution.

Glad to hear Ryan is well. I remember seeing him for a few hours in NYC and then met you and the bf at Stella's afterward. It was my first time to to Stella's and I've still never been hit on so many times in anyplace I've ever visited. I felt like they thought I was a human ATM machine or something. I remember Ryan and your BF wanted to go out Clubbing but you begged off. They invited me along and seemed to enjoy showing this Southern guy, NYC newby the NYC Club scene. I was afraid they might find younger company and abandon me but they both were great host, tour guides, and company that night never leaving me alone until they put me in a taxi back to my hotel sometime in the AM. Good memories.
