  1. Today President Trump said Doctor Redfield, Head of the CDC didn't understand or didn't fully hear questions about when a covid vaccine will be ready to actually use safely. Of course, the doctor didn't answer correctly in Trump re-election world where a second term is more important than anything
  2. The war in Vietnam was about 50 years ago. Many of the so-called grunts were Black and a few Latino. Therefore, why did it take so long to find out. And I don't agree it was "our military's mission in the world." And I hated being part of a stupid war in the late 1960s.
  3. Black United States soldiers kill blacks in the Middle East and North Africa?
  4. Yes, I know. I served in the United States Army from 1967 to 1969. So I know many of the troops in wars are black. My time in a light infantry brigade in Vietnam: almost a year.
  5. You turned against Sanders, Yang and Gabbard when they endorsed Biden. And you accuse almost every United States president, secretary of state and secretary of defense of genocide. Essentially accusing Secretary of State Clinton of enjoying sexually to watch foreign enemies put to death. Now it is another woman, Kamala Harris.
  6. Between his junior and senior year at the University of Pennsylvania he traveled from London to Turkey on his own. He was interested in my experience in Vietnam. And I was interested in his Independence while still keeping in contact with his parents. The day before he was killed in South Sudan, he talked to his parents who told him to please leave that very dangerous country.
  7. My young journalist friend, Christopher Allen, was killed in South Sudan three years ago. Before South Sudan, he wrote from Ukraine and, briefly, Turkey. Chris barely lasted a month in South Sudan, with a government quite unfriendly to journalists. I still keep in touch with his parents and his first cousins in Britain. I contribute to several journalist sites now. Chris also lived in Philadelphia, But I met him as a student at the University of Pennsylvania. He invited me to his college graduation. And I followed his advice to visit Bosnia and Croatia and Slovenia.
  8. Same objections you had on the other site to any Demoratic Party candidate not named Sanders, Yang or Gabbard. Could you please try to get over it when the only other real option is Trump and Pence. Sanders didn't have a chance after praising Fidel Castro. Both Tulsi Gabbard and Andrew Yang were decent candidates, but with little executive experience. And Tulsi Gabbard stressed "no more regime change wars" without explaining how the United States would react to another Cuban Missile Crisis. Or armed Fascist governments in Germany, Italy and Sprain (as happened before World War Two). Strange since Gabbard is actually in the reserves and a quite often praised soldier.
  9. It did? I watched the movie several times. Sleeping naked was more common in the Army in basic training and especially Vietnam. (The weather in the area around Saigon was usually very hot, especially in the non raining season).
  10. Donald Trump must believe he is a hero for playing down the true danger of covid19. Well, he also believes finishing at the top of his class at the University of Pennsylvania where he "dated" Candice Bergen more attractive girls were busy. Now he is blaming Bob Woodward for waiting so long to publish their conversations. On that, Mr. Trump has a valid point.
  11. Saw Ashton and his wife once. Yes, nice guy.
  12. John McCain is always a hot topic to folk who believe Donald Trump showed who he really by slamming McCain for getting shot down and spending many years in a Hanoi prisoner of war camp. McCain wasn't an advocate for regime change wars during all those years in Hanoi. He was in the military partly because his grandfather and father were also. A common occurrence for young men throughout history.
  13. I contributed to Tulsi Gabbard campaign for president and no other candidate so far. @tassojunior
  14. My dad served in the Army when Roosevelt and Truman were president. For me, it was Johnson and Nixon. Those presidents were far from perfect, especially Johnson and Nixon, but they never called soldiers "losers" or "not smart enough to avoid serving."
  15. Now the president is saying he never called John [McCain] a loser. Once again, Mr. Trump is not telling the truth in broad daylight
  16. Not just Senator John McCain or President George H. W. Bush. And especially soldiers who are killed in wars. The president is outraged at the suggestion, but his great dislike for McCain is in the public record.
  17. Delaware is Joe Biden's home state, not Pennsylvania. The same for actor Ryan Phillippe despite being a fan of all the Philadelphia sports teams.
  18. The White Is considering refunding Democratic Party run cities. Comment: Nice campaign bull crap follow up to the Attorney General claiming Jacob Blake was armed and it was why the police shot him. Next Mr. Barr will claim Jacob Blake shot himself by accident, the plane full of thugs shot him.
  19. I look forward to watching one of Ashton's delightful movies with them.
  20. He may have been around for a while but all his posts have been about escorts, not Politics.
  21. And his wife are moving into an apartment here in Philadelphia. What should I know about them we I meet?
  22. As colleges/universities open for the Fall, the battle against covid, such as it is, may lose. The University of Alabama alone has approximately 1000 to 1200 new cases. At the same time, the president is visiting Kenosha on Tuesday to view the scene. Really trying to tie the Democrats to Black Lives Matter and anarchists. Comment I assume the professor will update his predictions. A very important prediction.
  23. Absolutely true of the NBA. Less certain about major league baseball where fewer players are Black.. Still, it a major achievement in this country.
  24. He is also know for writing the lyrics for the Broadway musical "One Touch of Venus.". Famous for "Speak Low" and "That's Him.". Music by Kurt Weill. Director: Elia Kazan
