If Jerry Springer and Maury Povich, are still on the air, I wouldn't know. I couldn't bear to watch their shows. Isn't Povich married to Connie Chung? I wonder what happened to her.

  4. What would Townsend have done had he been stranded in a van with 8 or more escorts? It coulda happened, as it did today with others on the I-5; From the LA Times (abridged) Motorists Stranded in Castaic Heavy rain and intermittent sleet caused frustration and resignation among motorists stranded in Castaic, as they pondered their travel options in the wake of the closure of the Grapevine section of Interstate 5. After a relatively smooth trip north on the I-5 from the Santa Clarita Valley, California Highway Patrol officers directed drivers off the freeway at Parker Road in Castaic. The I-5 would remain “closed indefinitely†between Parker Road and Grapevine Road, a 50-mile stretch of freeway, said Officer David Porter, a spokesman for the California Highway Patrol. “We discourage people to come up that way altogether,†Porter said. In what could be the largest winter storm of the season, heavy rains were expected to last much of the day, according to the National Weather Service. Several drivers said that despite numerous weather reports they had not expected the freeway closure. Many jammed the parking lot of a Carl’s Jr. fast food restaurant and huddled in groups, chatting in the pouring rain... Several trucks lined the streets in Castaic just past the Parker Road freeway exit. A crowd gathered around a CHP officer who had parked his vehicle at the corner of Castaic Road and Ridge Route. Clasping a soggy road map and visibly trembling from the cold, the officer said he had been at the corner giving people directions since 6am. “How do I get to Gorman?†one man asked. “We’re going up to Portland,†a woman said, clutching her own wet map. “When can we get back on the freeway?†another motorist inquired. “It’s going to be closed for 24 hours,†the CHP officer told the drivers, who scrambled to scribble down his suggestions for alternate routes on soaked scraps of paper. Townsend P. Locke and his van full of children were shocked to learn that the freeway would probably not reopen until Tuesday. He had driven up from Huntington Beach and was headed to River Bank, near Modesto. “I just sent my kids off on vacation to the Mexican Riviera, and I’ve got to get back to work,†said Locke, a high school teacher in *****, Calif. “I think I’m going to go back" to Huntington Beach. Other travelers were resigned to staying put for one more day. At the Castaic Inn, manager Tyson Schmid said most of the hotel’s 51 rooms were occupied, and many of the guests said they were stranded because of the weather. “It’s bad weather, but good for business,†said Schmid, adding that many guests would probably book a room for another night. Porter, the CHP officer, said that if drivers “get caught†in Castaic and still wanted to head north, there are two other routes. They could take California 14 north to California 58 through the Tehachapi Pass, and reconnect through the 99 north with the I-5 north in Bakersfield, Porter said. Or motorists could take the 126 west to the 101 north, in order to reconnect with the 41 north and then to the I-5 north.
  5. I like to watch the Oscars. Joan Rivers on the Red Carpet was always a favorite part, but she fell out of favor with the powers that be. I won't watch Ryan Seacrest. After the Red Carpet, there is some kind of awards show which occasionally shows good movie clips.
  6. Leo was not in The Reader- he was with Kate in Revolutionary Road. But I wouldn't mind if the young actor who was in The Reader became the next Leo. It seems there are not so many moviegoers here, but I would ask one question- why is Streep getting so much acclaim for Doubt? It wasn't that hard of a role, and any number of actresses could have done it just as well.
  7. If our purpose in posting is to have fun and entertain ourselves, this thread has been a hoot. I think deej had a tagline "thank you for playing" which fits aptly here. The Palm Springs event appreciates the publicity, and hopes that you are encouraged to attend next year. We can even join Lurker, and call it the HooMer Weekend, but if we can get Rentboy to join, it would be the Hoomerboy Weekend.
  8. Oz, just so you know, I am the one who coined the term "Hooville" to describe Hooboy's forums, so I guess I can switch that term over to Daddy's Reviews if I choose, and I do. Yes, we had a great time, and next year I would love to see you there. As you might remember, you have previously been invited.
  9. Just so it is clear, the party has now been reported on at Hooville, and you are free to read about it there. Also, if one thinks that I am keeping anyone else from posting about it here, please know that I don't care whether any one posts their experiences here. It was just me reacting to someone who actually created a screenname to inquire about the event. He is obviously not new to these boards, so why go to that trouble to inquire? I wanted to wait until Hooville opened to report on it, and so I did.
  10. The bf and I are glad to attend the event again this year, and can attest to Lurker Speak's abilities as a host. The parade is shorter that the ones in the bigger cities, which is a bit of a plus after a seeing a five hour SF parade. And Dick's is loads of fun.
  11. People should post what they want to post, not what some stranger thinks he has a right to know. In this case, I have no idea who JonThomas is, or why I should tell him about a private party, including the guest list. The party was promulgated, and the invitations extended, on another website. It seems only natural to report on it at that website, and on my own volition, not that of some person who showed no interest in the event before it happened, nor contributed anything to it.
  12. That reply was supposed to be to the Reader thread! I am getting old.
  13. His dick was longer until Townsend saw the movie. They ejected him from the theater after he had eaten half of it off the screen.
  14. Here's another article on the subject from the NY Times: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/11/us/11wisconsin.html?ref=us
  15. The web site Made in Brazil has established a portfolio section of Brazil's hottest guys, according to towleroad.com. Here's more proof, if any was needed, that Brazil may have the hottest men: http://www.towleroad.com/images/2009/02/10/edilson.jpg
  16. Obviously I feel welcome enough to post here, but the question on my mind is who is jonthomas and why does he feel entitled to be told the events of something which was, after all, a private party? When you go to a party, you usually tell your friends about it, and, if there are strangers around, you can choose or not to let them hear too. But when the stranger comes up and demands to know what the party was like, why would I tell him? In this case, jonthomas has never posted here and has not identified himself s a poster at Hooville. So my response is, we had a great time, maybe next year you can come see for yourself. That's really all he needs to know, isn't it? As for the others here, we all know that it was a Hooville event. We respect that this is a separate website, interested rightly in growing on its own merits, and that there is no need to bring Hooville matters over here. Just because Hooville is shut down doesn't mean that we have a right to use this site as our place to carry on Hooville business. A joke here and there, a thread for people who need to vent, those are all fine, but I respect that this site is its own, and I have no idea why someone would use his first post to ask about this event. He never showed any interest before.
  17. Interesting to note the different looks that Jesus Luz (Mr. Jesus Madonna) can come up with: http://beat.bodoglife.com/wp-content/uploa...08/12/jesus.jpg
  18. I should concede that Brazil has some of the hottestmen- witness Madonna's new boyfriend- and, it isn't A-Rod! http://www.towleroad.com/images/2009/02/09/madonna1.jpg
  19. The idea that only certain places have the most beautiful boys sounds provincial. Sure, if you go to a mega-event such as Carnaval in Rio, Queensday in Amsterdam, Mardi Gras, etc. you will be overwhelmed by the beauty at hand. But that is because guys from all over the region travel to those events. The days after it is over, the landscape returns to normal. And normal means that there are beautiful boys wherever you go. You just have to look for them harder sometimes. I still have a picture of one of the most beautiful boys I have ever seen. He was selling trinkets at a roadstop near the Cambodian border. For a whole dollar, I got a carved wooden mask, and a photo that has lasted a lifetime!
  20. We had a great time, Townie. Your absence was noticed, but I just told people that you were at a paper convention.
  21. When I was a boy, if I ate meat on Friday, I was certain to go to hell. That is, unless my local priest forgave my sin at confession. Nowadays eating meat on Friday carries no eternal damnation, although heart risks must still be considered. I've always felt sorry for those who chewed before the rule changed. I also thought that if I made communion of the first five Fridays of the month, I would be guaranteed a priest at my death. With the new priest shortage, I wondered if that was still true, so I googled it. Here's what I found- I was wrong! Nine First Fridays Devotion to the Sacred Heart From the writings of St. Margaret Mary: "On Friday during Holy Communion, He said these words to His unworthy slave, if I mistake not: I promise you in the excessive mercy of my Heart that its all-powerful love will grant to all those who receive Holy Communion on nine first Fridays of consecutive months the grace of final repentance; they will not die under my displeasure or without receiving their sacraments, my divine Heart making itself their assured refuge at the last moment." With regard to this promise it may be remarked: (1) that our Lord required Communion to be received on a particular day chosen by Him; (2) that the nine Fridays must be consecutive; (3) that they must be made in honor of His Sacred Heart, which means that those who make the nine Fridays must practice the devotion and must have a great love for our Lord; (4) that our Lord does not say that those who make the nine Fridays will be dispensed from any of their obligations or from exercising the vigilance necessary to lead a good life and overcome temptation; rather He implicitly promises abundant graces to those who make the nine Fridays to help them to carry out these obligations and persevere to the end; (5) that perseverance in receiving Holy Communion for nine consecutive First Firdays helps the faithful to acquire the habit of frequent Communion, which our Lord eagerly desires; and (6) that the practice of the nine Fridays is very pleasing to our Lord since He promises such great reward, and that all Catholics should endeavor to make the nine Fridays. Prayer Source: Enthronment of the Sacred Heart by Rev. Francis Larkin, SS.CC., St. Paul Editions, 1978 All of this came up today when the NY Times announced that the church was again offering plenary indulgences- making Catholics one step closer to heaven by receiving one from the local church. Except that only one church in New York is offering them. That doesn't sound fair to those who go to other churches. You can read it about it yourself: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/10/nyregion...ulgence.html?hp So, things are different now, yet they are coming full circle. I may not be able to eat meat on Fridays in the future. I took this very seriously as a boy, and many people still do now. My mom, for example. But even she refers to my partner as my "boyfriend"- something it took her a long time to do. My guess is that efforts to offer an easier salvation will appeal to those who want the easy route in any other part of their lives, and those who genuinely believe that good works get you to heaven will keep doing them, regardless of the return of indulgences. I know there is no religion forum here, but I just thought it was an interesting turn of events.
  22. It's a sign of the times. Young guys seem to carry sex pix on their cell phones, so we saw certain persons dick photos, ass photos, another of one sucking himself, etc. Yes, too be young today is a different thing!
  23. What Raul overlooked was the LOW temperature in Chicago- it was 27 degrees! More than 20 degrees higher here. And well, today is already sunny and getting warm, with 9 escorts vying to see who has the biggest dick!
  24. kennethinthe212.com has a funny cl listing of his own: http://www.kennethinthe212.com/search?q=%2...+connections%22
  25. Even in LA, the two gay rags, In and Frontiers, are consolidating into one.
