I am making my first ever trip to Bangkok in just over two months (Nov 8-16).

While Arizona is not a climatically cool place, please prepare yourself for the humid heat of Thailand.  This year has been a really hot one and it is not cooling down as it usually does at this time of year.  Not in Bangkok at least.  As Axiom said, you should still have a great time and want, very much, to return after this visit.

  2. The people of Puerto Rico have certainly suffered terribly from these two hurricanes.  It will take many years to resume anything like normal life there.

We will have to see how much America will contribute to that territory since they are not a state of the US.  But, nothing has been said about this from our President or Senators.

  3. Recently, I read that more motorcyclist are killed in Thailand than any other country.  After reasonable consideration it would appear likely that there are basically two reasons for this.

One is that the motorcyclist believe that they are impervious to harm and violate every rule of the road that they can.  They dash in and out of traffic, run lights, speed, travel on sidewalks and do whatever they please without regard for their lives or the lives of others.  Most are out and out assholes.

The second reason for so many deaths lies at the feet of Thai policemen.  Those lazy bastards, as far as can be seen, do nothing to enforce the laws against these motorcyclist.  They are allowed to ride on sidewalks, weave in and out of traffic, run signs and lights, etc., etc., etc.  The only reason they ever stop motorcyclist is to shake them down for a few baht.  If they enforced the laws there would be fewer deaths.  But, this is too logical for Thailand.

  4. Unfortunately, the bars with dancing boys now charge an outrageous 3 to 5 dollars to take one of the boys out of the place.  To add insult to the injury they charge $3.50 to $4.00 for a beer.  There are no longer real sex shows and the shows they do have are silly & campy.  This is especially true of the bars in the Soi Twilight area.  Sadly, I cannot recommend any bars I used to go to because they are all like this.  More people now use Grindr, Hornet or another of the phone apps to meet guys who are available and there are many.  Planet Romeo is another place to find boys.

    Good hunting!

Welcome Kjun.  Do you have any relatives that are here in Houston with the Cajun Navy!  Thanks neighbors.

Yes, I have several but they are high and dry.  Wish I was around there to assist those who need.

The shopping mall Pavillion is nicknamed Gayvillion by gay people in KL. Just have a drink in Starbuck and you will know what I mean.

If you want to look for boys in KL, there are 2 easy ways without going to massage places (mostly in Cheras):

1 Turn on Grindr in Bukit Bintang area. Many topless guys who give their mobile number in their profile are escorts, the rest normal people.

    2. Gayromeo (or planetromeo since gayromeo is blocked in Malaysia). Go to Users and view the recently registered profiles. 90% of profiles with topless photos are escorts. You can tell when they put down their mobile number as well.

The only thing I do not like is the extensive use of Photoshop...

The quoted post is quite old but as a brief update on seeking escorts I would suggest that you try Craig's List.  In the Men for Men section you will find many boys looking to make a few dollars.

  7. I believe that some of those posting here use the word sauna when they are really talking about a massage place.

A sauna is a place where guys walk around dressed with a towel and try to pick up each other.  Most have dark back rooms.

A massage parlor is different.  These are generally places where you go for a massage with sex.  Most places like this allow you to pick out the boy you want after viewing available boys.  Massages are not primarily what many go there for.  At this writing my opinion is that the most reasonable and best ones are: Banana Massage and Prince.  Arena has nice handsome boys but the place is a bit grungy.  There are many others but some are over priced.

I had a wallet incendent in Thailand too, but was not so lucky.  This happened on my taxi ride from airport to hotel.  I had $800 and credit cards in my wallet. I usually don't carry so much cash around on the street. But I was fresh off the 13 hour flight.  I must have dropped the wallet in taxi.  A few days later, a Thai friend (I kept a few emergency contact numbers in my wallet) called me and told me the police had my wallet, it is in a police station out of town now.  So I went and retrieveed my wallet. All money was gone, everything else is intact.

NOw I understand why you bad-mouth Thailand so much.  You started out on a bad foot at your own fault and now you have nothing good to say about the country.  My advice: Stay home!

    where?  please tell me.

I am not talking about saunas.  My definition of "dark room" is a sex room within the dance clubs or bars or circuit parties.  The ones that you often see in clubs in Europe and Central/South America.

And, exactly where do these places exist?

You can rest assured that there is no dark room in any clubs or parties in Asia.... it's a different culture there --boring.

This statement is absolutely ridiculous and without experience. Put more accurately, he is full of it.

  11. I have been living in Thailand for almost five years now and the number of Russian tourist has increased remarkably in the last two years. This is especially true of Pattaya but one sees them all over the country.

I think that most Thais and ex-pats living here will agree that the many of these Russians are crude, rude and what can only be described as low-class. They need a crash course with Ms. Manners. One of their favorite tricks is to walk out of restaurants and bars without paying for what they have eaten/drunk.

From all of this,I have no desire to visit Russia.
