  1. Good memory. lol. I take it that you are from the east coast and may be in academia?
  2. Not from the States but on the west coast. lol. I actually did that, but the byproduct was that I could wake up at like 11 or 12 in the morning. That's really convenienct for sightseeing.
  3. First of all, good choice of going to Colombia! I was in Bogota in Nov for a little over a week. I originally planned to visit Medellin or Cartagena, but some hiccups happened, so I ended up spending all the time in Bogota. If you enjoy the cultural stuff, I would highly recommend Museo del Oro, Museo Botero (even though I don't his aesthetics at all), and Museo Nacional de Colombia. I am sure there are some others you can see, but these three are a must. Historical sites are mostly in the downtown La Canderlaria area. Also Iglesia Nuestra Senora de Lourdes in Chapinero. You can go to the Mercado de Las Pulgas in Usaquen (it's only open in Sunday). Monserrate is also a must, but make sure you pick a good day. Otherwise, it's foggy and drizzling up there. In general, local guys' English is limited. But I did end up meeting three guys who had studied abroad, so that made the experience a lot more enjoyable. Since you mention you have to work remotely, how much time on average per day do you need to allocate to work? I wish I could travel like a digital nomad, but sadly I was there on vacation. Finally, as for guys, what are your aesthetics? That I believe is also a factor in deciding how you wish to spend your time.
  4. Haha. Point well taken. I definitely had tried it, but my body just couldn't do it. Not only do my eyes feel watery and sensitive, but my body also feels rigid and achy. I wish my body were designed differently, and that's why I admire their ability to do such different schedule. Don't get me wrong. I will definitely try the local schedule, but that's certainly a concern. Maybe local guys are too hot to resist, and I will just have to roll it with them .lol
  5. I have to say that their lifestyle seems insane. I can never eat a full meal after 10pm. Let alone after midnight. I abide by the philosophy that go to bed at least before 12 and get up at 730 or 8 in the morning. From the majority of the comments I have seen so far, it's more than likely that I will miss most of the fun in BA. Maybe I should do sightseeing in the early morning when everyone is still recovering and scheduling sex in the afternoon, so I can still keep my routine intact. lol
  6. That's why I am having second thought about going to BA as there's no way I can stay up that late and I must have my beauty sleep to not look horrible the next day. How could they do it like that? Don't they need to work in the morning the next day? Besides, isn't leaving so little time for the digestive system to work generally bad for your health and weight? As for the chronic tendency to be late, I have had my fair share of that in Colombia. Later I just realized that if I wanted to meet someone, I'd better set the time at least two hours ahead or find something to do in the neighbourhood. However, I did find that guys with oversea experience tended to be on time. One guy that did his Masters in the UK and the other that exchanged in Europe were fairly on time, but their vibes are quite different from local guys.
  7. I checked out some dating Youtube channels, and they say there's less political correctness in Argentina, and they regularly call people names like blankito, negro something, or small head, big ass. Maybe it's just their culture. Besides, it's not like there's no racism in Canada.
  8. I wish budget were not a factor! But even if it weren't, I would still like to travel smartly and save a few bucks if the overall outcomes are comparatively similar. It seems that flying to SP is a more economical and flexible solution indeed.
  9. A local boyfriend? How do you keep up with so many around the world? lol I am learning Spanish and let's just say it's barely conversational. It also seems to be the consensus that the sex scene is less prominent in BA compared to SP or Rio. I am a carnivore when it comes to food and men, so I think I will be okay. But I have heard steak lovers getting tired/sick of steak after a week in BA, not sure if literally or metaphorically though. The schedule seems to be another deterrent as I eat dinner no later than 7pm, but it looks that Argentines can eat at 10 and party until the morning. I am one of those that has to be asleep before 12 so I don't feel like having a hangover the next day. Maybe Germany is a better suit in that regard. Latinos in general do put a lot of emphasis on presentation. Almost all the guys I have met in Colombia carry a little beauty bag with them with hairspray, cologne, and moisturizer in it. I travel for comfort and ease, so the whole presentation thing is kinda annoying. As for racism, the gay community has so much more crap than just the race, so I think I may be okay with that.
  10. That's why it's such a tough decision cuz I am a pretty slow traveler and would prefer to take my time. I wouldn't say sex is secondary, but it's definitely not make or break. Do Argentines and Brazilians look significantly different? Maybe Brazilians tend to be more mixed and diverse. Brazil definitely has quite some Japanese population. At least in Bogota, I was definitely the extreme minority.
  11. I actually read that post before posting here! A lot of useful information for sure. I am not actively looking for sex per se, or let's say sex is not my primary goal. If it happens, great. If not, I am fine with that. I think being a twenty something slender Asian guy, I will stand out in either city anyway (not sure if that's a plus or a minus). At least that's been my experience so far that very few Asian guys, locals or tourists, are in some South American countries, except probably Peru and Brazil where you can find quite some Chinese and Japanese. I think the best experiences for me are the ones that want to practice English and spend time touring the city with me (all expenses on me) and if there's chemistry, we have fun. Definitely not as efficient as paid sex, but it seems to work better for me. Exchange rate is extremely favourable in Argentina. Not sure how locals cope with such high inflation every year. Do you think 10 days are enough to split between these two mega cities?
  12. I wish I could! However, I find the excitement kinda wanes after more than 10 days, so now I am trying to take several mini vacations rather than a big jumbo one. Sorta like the diet that you eat several small meals rather than a big one if that makes any sense.
  13. Hot videos as always! Would be nice to see you impaled by two monsters at the same time!
  14. I am planning my trip to SA in April for about 10 days, currently debating between Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo. They seem to offer two distinctly different experiences, and I have a hard time deciding which one fits April better. I am a single gay Asian traveler looking to relax, experience new culture, and possibly fun with local guys, not necessarily professionals. It seems that non-professionals offer a more authentic and intimate time. Not sure if the sauna or sex trade is as big as in BA compared to SP. With the Argentine pesos so down the drain and reals not faring not much better, both options are so appealing! What do you guys suggest?
  15. Is it because you are able to see some videos of them via Twitter? Where would you meet them though? I always get paranoid inviting a stranger to my place and have no intention of being the headline "foreigner seeking fun ends up being robbed or slain".
  16. Is it possible that the guys are increasingly turning to the Internet to source new clients? After all, instead of spending time at the sauna and being tied up, taking appts from the Internet may be a more cost&time effective approach. Has anyone tried to meet up with guys from some escort websites? Is the quality better?
  17. Good to know that! It seems that AC does have really appealing flight tickets going to SA. How was the flight to SP? Mine was from Toronto to Bogota. I was perfectly fine with the delays since it was part of the experience. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. Maybe a delay was meant to be, so I could meet the right person at the right time. Btw, how was SP in Nov? Was it a good time to visit?
  18. I find that it's cheaper to fly to Sao Paulo and take one of the domestic flights to Rio (like less than $50 roundtrip). Maybe I am mistaken, but it seems it's much more expensive to fly to Rio.
  19. That's so funny cuz the first time I took AC to travel to SA, I got delayed and had to stay at the hotel for 1 night. Btw, I also realized that AC has pretty cheap flight to SA. It's like a little over 800 dollars in March and April to Sao Paulo which is more than reasonable. But is it a good time to visit Brazil in March or April?
  20. Thanks for the invitation. I will definitely try to make it to one of them. Just wonder what usually happens at tomcal's place. lol
  21. I can tell! But some stuff stays with you forever. lol. Just the way you presented those numbers, you must have some experience in the financial industry. Would be nice for a newbie like me to finally meet the big guy in the room .
  22. Just out of curiosity, do you work in the financial industry? The way you present numbers looks like someone who works with numbers closely.
  23. Even though the exchange rate becomes more favorable than ever, is it safe given the protests and riots in Bogota now?
  24. You will have a great time in Colombia for sure. However, if you are looking for black guys, Bogota may not be the best choice. All the guys I happened to meet in person were pretty light skinned. I have to admit that Paisa guys are the best, and some Venezuelan guys are very hot too and eager to please. Latinos are horny all the time and not shy about hooking up with strangers.
