  1. R delivered the coffee beans to me in person. Very smart guy! Self taught english. Genuine person, a future lawyer rising from favela. An inspiring story.
  2. Obgd! I enjoyed reading you post. Thanks again.
  3. Thanks for this! did not know there is a Korean / Chinese town in SP, in addition to the Japanese themed Liberdade. do you still remember the name of the restaurant in Chinatown?
  4. I always stay in Flamengo/Catete area, love it. Safe and convenient.
  5. When I signed up the prepaid mobile phone service with Claro, and membership of smartfit gym, the CPF made it a lot easier than my (foreign) passport which did not seem to be accepted. For some purposes I have not yet figured out, there are options to enter CPF at checkout at many supermarkets and retail stores.

  8. Thanks @alwaysrio! I just bought 12 packs of coffee beans (Graos means beans!). Not speaking Portuguese is proven to be difficult navigating their website. I whatsapped them. Rodrigo called me back speaking English and guided me through every step. He was very nice and helpful. Thanks for the info - I used to get the supermarket ones to take home but this time I can only find grounded coffee (moido) but not the beans.

  11. I felt safe in Brazil as a tourist by observing the common sense as people here mentioned, but my boyfriend had his iPhone snatched by a skinny boy on his bike running away fast in the vicinity of the main church in São Paulo. Boyfriend was focusing on the phone and editing the photo in the public, guess that’s how he made himself an obvious target.
  12. At least United is doing the opposite. Also emirates is eyeing on Dubai to Recife, hope the fare is not going to hike. I last booked lax to gru return at $1,348 in J with United. ~https://www.aviacionline.com/2021/10/united-airlines-increases-flights-to-brazil/
  13. https://simpleflying.com/delta-summer-2022-brazil-schedule/ Delta has shelved plans to operate Atlanta to Rio de Janeiro Galeão next summer, and there is presently no indication of whether it’ll return next winter. This cut (or further suspension) means its summer 2022 Brazilian network shrinks by one-third. While Rio is no more, Atlanta and New York JFK to São Paulo Guarulhos are still bookable.
