  1. Bogota sounds even more dangerous than Rio. Busy street with lots of people are pretty safe in Brazil
  2. I'm doing my first solo trip to Bogota before meeting a friend in Medellin. My plan is to meet a few sex workers who I've found through one of the agency recommendations here. Yes, I know this isn't recommended but I'll take several precautions and accept the risk. One issue is I can't find any place to stay where I can discreetly bring them back to. AirBnB makes it really hard to see which buildings have doormen and which have no guest policies. As far as I can tell from reading here and elsewhere, most hotels don't allow guests at all and if they do they have to register with the front desk and you have to pay an extra fee. This isn't ideal, I'd like somewhere that isn't so strict or at least a place I can walk up with them to without being bothered. There are so few houses available for rent in the city. I have a flexible budget and every reasonably nice house is on a gated street with its own security guard... so the exact same issue. I'm just trying to hookup with some guys discreetly. Are there any options other than motels? I've read a ton of threads here and feel like I may be missing something obvious.
  3. Hello 👋 has anyone used https://www.escortsbuk.com/home.html in Medellin or Bogota? if yes, how was your experience? Thanks!
  4. Thanks so chapigay is basically Chapinero close to Parque de los Hippies? around that area any recs for saunas and massage places where I can hire? I know saunas in Colombia are not like the ones in Brazil but I am trying to find some ways to hire easily without involving any online hiring first. I read a few places for strip clubs in other forums but couldn't get recent extensive info about Bogota
  5. For a first visit, stay in Chapigay. Everything is walking distance and all of the gay-ness is walking distance. There are also a few clubs and bars in Zona T immediately north of Chapinero. Yes, the buildings in the hills above Avenida 7 are considered a very desirable place to live with excellent restaurants and amenities. As for guests, this topic has been covered to death here. The vast majority of hotels will charge for overnight guests. Find out the fee in advance. Some exceptions to the rule have been shared here. If you want total access, it's Airbnb/VRBO for you and expect mandatory registration of all guests with the doorman/security. You may luck out on a building without that, but it is to your benefit as has been discussed previously. If you absolutely cannot abide either option, there are tons of love motels in the zona and multiple sauna options. FWIW When in Bogotá I stay either in upper Chapinero or in the Parque Virrey neighbourhoods. I also walk frequently alone at night because I know the city and the different barrios. For a first-time visitor, use Uber or Indriver and stay safe. Enjoy!
  6. There are definitely a lot of clubs, saunas & massage parlors, Id say stay in Chapinero close to Parque de los Hippies, you can stay on the nicer side of Avenida 7(?), but overall Bogota isn't that safe to walk around at night unless there's a lot of people out or you're in a group, unless you wanna stay far away from all the action.
  7. So we ended up going to Cartagena & Bogota for a few days. I'm very disappointed that I didn't end up going to Gabanna, a lot of the locals told me not to go, but it seemed like everyone was there during the weekend and someone invited me on Sunday, but by that time I was out & drunk already in the walled city. For this one spot alone I'm ready to go back to CTG, I don't necessarily need a plethora of places, I like off the beaten path. I also got invited to Avatar but never made it, didn't hear or see much about Gemini or Crazy Breeze if it still exists. Had a really great night at City Club, the one gay club in the central neighborhoods, it's really just a regular club, & very small, but made some friends, one off grindr, & we had a great night. Cartagena was difficult at first because most hotels & airbnbs are very guarded (literally, with door people) about visitors. Some of the guys have spots though. First few days were frustrating, but I finally found some hourly hotels in Getsemani. One wouldn't let me use it if it was with a chico instead of a chica, but the other one was fine & the woman working it was very accommodating. It was 30 pesos for the hour & I think 125 for the night. Even though I was in Bogota monday to wednesday, tuesday was basically a weekend night because of May Day, & the streets were crawling. We didn't go to Theatron though because someone mistakenly told me it would be open wednesday, but we had a great time at a salsa bar. I figured a lot of people would be off for the holiday, so that was the day I chose to hit up a sauna. I went to St. Moritze, & there must have been at least 50 guys there. 24 pesos I believe to get in. I don't know how much a massage is because I didn't. There were all ages, plenty of fine dudes, & at the same time it was both hot/sexy but also chill & not overly aggressive. Final conclusion...I need to go back to both places
  8. Spending next week in Colombia - half in Bogota, half in Medellin. Hoping to get some good intel from anyone who might have visited recently. Looks like many of these threads are years old and the info is probably out of date. I've been to both cities before and had some really good luck on Grindr and Mileroticos. Unfortunately I did have one terrible experience though. I don't feel comfortable sharing the specifics here, but I learned to watch for warning signs for future encounters. Make sure profiles have a face and legit social media. Would love to get some recommendations for guys to spend time with... and warnings for anyone I should avoid. Mostly into twinks and muscle twinks. Once they hit bodybuilder phase, I'm out. In Bogota, I'm planning to head to Garage. I went once to Gigolo House (I think that's where I went... 3 levels place?) but had no idea how things work there and I speak only a little Spanish. Then probably Theatron. In Medellin, seems like the scene is all online but if you know of a good spot, would love to check it out. Reply here or in a private message if you prefer. I'll be checking in a few times before I fly.
  9. This is exactly my type... no shortage of these in Medellin and Bogota. Grindr has a ton of options. Let me know if you find any bath houses or clubs that are good for finding twinks
  10. Basically I'm thinking about going to Peru in August. I like stripper bars but I don't know anything about Lima, Peru. As an FYI I've already been to: Santiago, Chile BA, Argentina Mexico City, Mexico Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic Sao Paulo, Brazil Rio, Brazil San Jose, Costa Rica Bogota, Colombia Medellin, Colombia Cartagena, Colombia Montevideo, Uruguay But I want to try somewhere new and Peru has been on my bucket list but I don't see anything about gay clubs or saunas or stripper bars. Any opinions as to if it's worth my time to go there and if they have any of the above (male strippers, saunas)?
  11. I'm at Hampton Inn...it's hit and miss who's at the entrance, but my friend has had a couple a day in his room and the worst thing is you have to register them. But I learned last night that a Venezuelan ID isn't sufficient here, has to been a passport or Colombian ID card, we went to a sex motel....was worth it! I'm heading to Bogota today. Keep in mind I've been going to brazil 25 years, I have quite a few contacts there as well, speak both Spanish & Portuguese....they're so similar it's not that hard to pick up both.....change of scenery is always good and the restaurants I've been to in Medellin blow Rio out of the water with the variety and quality.
  12. During my time in Bogota, I have made the following observations: 1. Colombians seem to be more interested in condoms than Brazilians. I’m guessing Colombia does not handout free PrEP to anyone that wants it, correct? 2. The tocos at Leono Birria are delicious.
  13. I just got back from Colombia and yes there is a strong preference for condoms in Bogota and Medellin. Maybe a third of the guys I contacted lost interest or wanted some exorbitant price (1 million pesos) to fuck without one. A few others were mollified once I showed them my PREP / DoxyPEP bottles. One guy I met up with on Grindr said that it's very difficult for Colombians to access PREP and he said it was unusual to meet Colombian guys who were taking it.
  14. Hey. As a young retiree, I've been to Colombia several times this year, with a view to perhaps settling there for the long term (looking for a one year place to rent will be the goal for my january trip) for boys of course, weather during European winters and the way of life. I'm going back in a few days, for some weeks. I have multiple and anonymous partners, both paid and unpaid. I'm taking PrEP but on my first trip this year (on the last few days, hopefully) I got an STI.😱 For the trip that followed, I drastically reduced the number of my partners... It's not the first time I've had one (usually one of the three : syphilis, chlamydia, gonorrhea), I know quickly because I usually have strong symptoms that I quickly recognise as it's always in the throat. For the antibiotic treatment to work, you need to know what the STI is. Having an STI is one thing but being positive and contaminate other guys is another, so testing is essential. In my country / city testing is easy, quick and free of charge for sex workers (includind foreigners) and LGBT people. I was wondering if there were any places in Bogota where to get tested anonymously (especially for strangers with a low level in spanish language, let's say A2-), discreet, free of charge or not and treated if positive. If not, does anyone know how STD testing and treatments work in Bogota? At what cost approx? A big thank you.
  15. Mompóx is one of my favourites, but a long trip by car. Feel free to DM me and I can discuss — have driven down to Mompóx from Cartagena and from Tolú. If you want something different, I suspect you would enjoy Bogotá scene over Medellin simply because Bogotá is in your face while Medellin takes a bit to figure out. Just pack for cooler nights. i have been spending my winters here in Medellin for the past 7 years (here now) so feel free to send me specific questions and I will try to answer quickly.
  16. Yeah i have a lot of friends from Colombia, mostly from Medellin, some from Bogota, & a couple suggested Tayrona but I think its too far for this trip since we'll mostly be based out of ctg and not bq, & frankly i dont feel motivated enough haha. The beaches look beautiful, & that sounds hot, but I can find plenty of beach action in the summer in new england
  17. the flight isnt booked, just a cancel-able hotel. Id appreciate any insights, as I just wrote in another reply im thinking of flying us to Bogota instead and adding an extra night, because it seems early in the week will be quiet in Quilla, but also to get to see a different side of Colombia outside the caribbean. But im open to all possibilities, if youre willing to share
  18. I think its just a little too far, doesnt have as many international flights either, Barranquilla is easy to fly out of & reach from CTG. Im also considering just adding an extra day & flying down to Bogota instead for 3 nights because i think a lot of the nightlife in bq will be closed early in the week
  19. I will be traveling to Bogotá and Medellín with my boyfriend soon. While in Colombia, we want to visit a bathhouse. Babylon Baths in Bogotá appears to be exactly what we are looking for (clean, modern, big, etc.) but I see that it is no longer open. Is there something similar in Bogotá or Medellín that is still open? Advice on what times are best to go would also be welcome. We also enjoy massage while on vacation. If anyone out there would care to share some recommendations for where to get a massage in Bogotá or Medellín that would be welcome too.
  20. Hotels: Mercure BH Zona Financiera and Holiday Inn Exp. & Suites Bogota. Airbnb: just message the host before you and ask if visitors are allowed. Most will reply that it is no issue even with doormen/security at the front desk/entrance. Local guys have no issue showing ID to security staff to visit you; it is entirely normal.
  21. Last time I went, didn't pay tax at Embassy Suites Bogota. I've booked Hampton Inn Medellin and in the confirmation, it shows IVA/VAT taxes of 19%. In looking online, it seems there are hotels or hotel workers that try to charge it to tourists that are exempt from this tax and pocket it. Any experience with this? Also, I'm not going until May and I've been going into a cam site, this is addicting, lol
  22. I book direct on the Hilton site, I get industry rates...Medellin hotel shows taxes, Bogota doesn't..
  23. Novarunner, if u r up to it - like maump - please ask Bogota providers if they'd like u to share contact details with wider clientle...
  24. I don’t think I ever posted anything but I started reading the gay Thailand forum when I was traveling to SE Asia in my late 20’s. A massage after a 16 hour flight is a necessity and if it can be done by a hot guy that is also good with playing with my dick, that’s even better. Go go bar etiquette was not part of my upbringing so I needed to learn about that somewhere too as well. Do I have a point? No, not really other than that I suspect the average age of the readership here might be somewhat less than you suggest. Even if you do happen to be a decent looking 28 year old and meeting other decent looking 28 year olds at DJ Station on Saturday night in Bangkok is an option, that takes effort which might be more than you can muster after a 16 hour flight. It also could be Wednesday and DJ Station is closed. Maybe I’m unique but I suspect not. Bogota has been fun and I’m glad I’m here - I wanted to try something different - but I miss Rio. There is a lot to be said for staring at the ocean while drinking caipirinhas and being able to speak the language somewhat.
