A "likeohmygod" adventure in Rio and its saunas - Feb 2017

Hi guys, my travel begins in 1 month and as i've promised to myself, i'm starting my "diary" hoping this will also act as an updated giude to dos and don'ts while visiting Rio for "sauna fun".

I am a european guy in the late 20s, in good shape. I can already tell you that, no...i'm not interested in the "free" sex. I can have plenty of it here in Italy. I want the super-hot garotos that only exist in my mind and in porn movies, and in the pics i've seen in this topics about brazilian saunas :D. So...saunas....i'm coming.

I will be in Rio from the 1st February to the 10th, and i will stay in a hotel in Flamengo (at the moment). Why Flamengo? It's a nice area, not far from the 3 saunas and not too far from the beaches (which will not be my main interest, mostly because of extreme heat and my white skin). I will disclose the hotel name when i'll get information about the "guest policy" they operate.

As a very sociable person, i don't have problems asking garotos for a pic, which i will post here with some alteration and in private (if asked) only if the guy already has the same type of public pics in the internet. During the last couple of months i've managed to learn some Portuguese, i will tell you how much this will help.

That's all for now.

Please keep us posted. I enjoy walking the long beachfront pedestrian/bike trail spanning Flamengo.

For sun-sensitives, the top (north-east) end of Copacabana (also known as a small stretch called Leme Beach) offers a few hours of shade following sunrise due to the sheer rockface at its dead end, with a path and seawall where one can sit and relax. Pleasant. About one km east of metro Cardeal Arcoverde.

One photo shows the view (rock face behind viewer in the perspective) looking south-west around midday; the other aerial view shows the beach ending at the rockface.

Good luck with the pics...Most of the guys will not allow you to take face pics of them....some will definitely allow you to take body pics...

Great job on learning some Portuguese...that should definitely help....

...like your spirit.  Remember always to let "your big head" guide you, for you do not want to become too enamored or overwhelmed and have some negative experiences transpire.  Always have valuables out of sight in spite of your trusting your companion.

Enjoy and make the better of your trip.  I, for one, who've had the good fortune of traveling to Brasil and to some of its major cities (11Xs)--last six years ago will look forward to a detailed narrative once you return home.  Or, if you plan to post while you're there, that, too, would be mighty fine!

Thanks everybody for the support. I got the reply from the hotel:

Yes, you can bring someone for one nigth, in a double room.

Any doubts I am available.

I am one of those people who "don't believe until they don't touch" so again i will not disclose the name of the hotel until i'll have a direct experience, but you can ask me in private. It's a good and new hotel in Flamengo, with great reviews and great prices.

I hope you have a really good time likeohmygod, and I know you will have. Also, I would tell you to not limit yourself to the saunas... if you have time, go to one of the trendy nightclubs on Rio, especially if they are hosting any kind of party... like the "Safado" party on "The Week", went once in August during the Olympics and was overwhelmed by the number of muscle boys there (including many from 117 crew).

Too bad there's none of these parties during my stay :(.

Do you know other cool parties or clubs full of hotties? :D

It's possible to go to the sauna early evening and then go to The Week in the night-time? - it starts late?

And is it OK for a decent looking foreign guy mid 30s going alone to these clubs full of hetros?

I might be wrong, but as recent as 2 or 3 months ago The Week (the one in Rio) was closed by the police because of drugs (use and traffic), if it has opened since I haven't heard about it. Keep hearing about "Buraco da Lacraia", not sure if is a hustle bar, but definitely some sex activity going on (Lapa neighborhood).

If I'm asking here in the forum, it's because i don't care about some not up to date and/or copy-pasted/fake reviews on some "gay lifestyle website" which doesn't even list NMM on the saunas list.

I would like to know personal opinions which come from recent and personal experiences with clubs/parties packed of super hot boys; which i think it's what this forum is about.

The last times i listened to "google" during one of my fun-trips, i ended up in a closed disco in a dangerous zone in a country where the spoken language is not one of my main ones.

I think The Week is still open as Papa Party have been advertising events there recently.

Then look at the date of the info that you research and then check it thoroughly...

When you are asking basic, general questions, you are getting feedback based on personal experiences versus a broad range of experiences...

Also, not sure how old you are but the majority of the guys who post here are not going to "clubs/parties packed with super hot boys"

I suggested Google because it has a LARGE amount of feedback versus a select fews feedback

Hi, redxs is right, The Week had re-opened and has a party scheduled for Jan 28, great news for those into muscle boys or techno/trance music, (preferably both).

I've never been to The Week. Is it easy to pick up a muscle guy in there? Do they have free wifi for google translate? jeje

Correct...if you are young and hot with an amazing body....cash probably wont be a big deal because it is expensive by Brazilian standards to get in so most of the guys there are middle to upper class Brazilians who can pay the entrance fee...They are the typical male "Barbies" that Ipanema is famous for...

They have wifi as it is a very modern club but the music is always very loud and the few times I have been it is crowded....

Good luck though....

I can not wait to hear your story about trying to pick up guys there...

I love The Week and I go every time that I go to Rio. I do not think that it is the best place to pick up guys though--and even my Brazilian friends don't go there to pick up guys. Most people come with their friends to dance and enjoy the music and to walk around and see who else is there. It is a great people watching place but very loud and hard to carry on a conversation. Even if you can chat with someone for a bit there is so much distraction they rapidly move on. Most locals who come don't want to leave much before 6am or later so that is also a factor. It may have been closed for drugs recently but I doubt that changed much and carrying on a conversation with someone who is high is next to impossible. Still--go for sure if you like big, classy clubs with good music!

The Week is great for music, dancing and hard, shirtless bodies. If you are going alone and without local friends, and you don't look the part, you are bound to meet no one. You'll look just like the old perv hanging out at the playground -- seriously. If you can't enjoy The Week for the experience it is without feeling like a total failure if you didn't make a sex date, then you are probably better off avoiding it.

Several of my Brazilian friends love the place. Others hate it. If you remember the big gay dance circuit party clubs in Manhattan (or London, or Paris) that lasted until 9 am, where many shirtless muscled men would dance tweaked off recreational pills, then this is the Brazilian version.

Some of the GPs I know well like to go there to hang out with friends, but never to make new clients. That would be an awkward situation for them as they are usually with some friends who don't know they are garotos.
