For me they have become far less interesting over the years. But I know several farang, some of whom have lived here as long as I have and some even longer, and they're in the bars virtually every night. I agree the bars are probably most fun for people who come to Thailand for brief holidays. Many save up all year to be able to come to Thailand and go to the bars. Meanwhile I live here and rarely go to the bars at all anymore.
