  1. you are right. While we enjoy low prices we need to remember that eventually it will start to bite us back when funds will be to scarce for maintenance , even less basic renovations. That was sad fate of once very agreeable places like Om Yim and Nantra Silom So unfortunately when we are fortunate enough to land a good rate we need to be prepared to compromise on quality. With such mind frame staying in somewhat neglected hotel will be enjoyable enough. While Tarnatwan was never my favorite option I stay there quite a few times. Location can't be bitten indeed , central yet quiet.
  2. and rightly so. I most cases we can't go wrong with trying to make boy as comfortable in our presence as possible . After all, even if paid , they are guests in our space. Better they feel , chances for better time with them rises exponentially. Of course we need to remember 'paid ' part and while making our guest comfortable we need to watch for signs of them feeling too comfortable thus taking advantage of our hospitality. If they agreed to something which is very important to us we have an option of enforcing terms of contract or cut agreed or intended compensation. If one is good with skipping kissing, sucking , fucking, showering together or whatever was expected but doesn't work , no harm done as in case above. But if say , hand holding for 1 hr. while watching episode 8 of KinnPorsche was very important to us and was agreed upon explicitly, we should let guy know we don't like it as a minimum and if need be , cut his tip or use my preferred solution - tell him next time he is approaching us that he has no chance of an off. If we still like guy for this or that there's even better idea, forget whole thing and give him second chance. It may work marvelously , for 128th time I repeat that my second worst and the best off were with the same guy. as for us asking juicy details remember that while we have right to be curious , you can exercise your right of telling us only as much as you want including ' none of your business" or simply skip the question.
  3. yes, like my father used to say , love is light in our lives , marriage is a bill for that light
  4. that's the price for partial realization of their dreams and boys making them feeling good
  5. probably because they realize that love is just make-believe
  6. you got me interested I need to watch it and confirm your findings. I watched few minutes in the middle and yes , based on that sample you are right ! It means one thing for sure , none of us is Japanese girl and we have better taste in men. A-men
  7. And so was participation of communists in governments in some countries of Western Europe right after the war ? I'm afraid we are looking at the whole issue knowing what happened later
  8. that was very smart and prudent as quite often I see customers entering bars and calling some guy to seat with them shortly after. I'm one of those , if I see somebody I like I tend to call him right away.
  9. I wonder how this quotation from episode 10 passed censorship :" in this country any jerk with money can escape" how true in view of Red Bull heir case
  10. probably yes but since we have only Gay Thailand forum and we not sure if airport ghosts are gay, most likely reader, OP did not want to risk their wrath and took secure road by placing it here. After all, ghosts , gay or not , can be everywhere , no ?
  11. count me in at end of day what counts is that in Bangkok or broader, in Thailand we still have a choice
  12. possibly fear of crime too. I never been in Argentina or Brasil but visited all western countries (Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Chile ) and while nowhere I felt threatened or uneasy in none place I can't imagine myself walking at 3 am through empty street like I do sometimes in Bkk. Never in Thailand receptionist in hotel told me to avoid area on the left past hotel entrance but in Santiago they did and never in broad daylight Bangkok taxi driver told me to close windows or lock door on intersection but I got it in both Quito and Lima. I don't know anybody personally whose safe in hotel room was emptied in Thailand but know two who got it in Dominican and Venezuela ( in pre-Chavez era, mid 90-ties). Venezuela case was more painful as it was higher end hotel and beginning of trip. In February I arrived past midnight to my SanJuan , Puerto Rico hotel and it was locked as fortress. I only was let in after they saw my passport and confirmed I have reservation. It was 100USD hotel not cheap love motel While no reason to be paranoid at all , not everybody's idea of good vacation is constantly to keep those things in mind. Another point may be airfares, often much cheaper to Asia despite much longer distance
  13. their reasoning may be the same like ours. They have different priorities and tend to pick up place according to those. Some may be looking for difference in cost of accommodation or foods, other may follow where their friends are working or to be as far as possible from their families ( I heard it from BKK natives working in Pattaya at least twice ). Universal claim ' more customers ' I heard in both cities so obviously there's no uniform reason why they opt for either. We , their customers too can dispute to no end advantages of either city. I for record am Bangkok fan but even at that I had one trip where I spent more time in Pattaya than in BKK
  14. oh, so in absence of strawberry Fanta, member card of Chinese Communist Party will do ? You are right about ghost believe entrenched in Thai culture. Now I'm watching , with delight I haste to say , KinnPorshe BL series and surely enough in the middle of the series they introduced ghost which changed substantially tone of the plot, so far skillful mixture of crime and love stories. On my last trip , after my ST guy left past midnight I decided to bring another bed warmer , by coincidence staying in the same hotel. Thinking I'm cracking a joke I told him I need somebody for rest of the night because I'm afraid of ghosts if sleep alone. Instead of expected paternalizing smile ' what an old fool " actually his gaze seemed understanding.
  15. for example by hanging that 1000 baht garland on the guy in plain view of everybody or even better to hand him that 1000 baht note but in a way he will be able to see what he is getting
  16. yes , there are some girls there too, actually quite a lot in May me , my Boy de Last Night and other member hailed taxi on Suriwong in front of Patpong and paid 100 baht to Grand Palace tip included so it looks Bolt is not much better if at all and Grab just extortionate ....... yes, never accept ATM conversion rate but let bank convert it. I did the same in May and it was always more favourable , the same as you discover. Also because of bank fees, often on both ends, it's better to withdraw bigger amounts like 20000 or 25000 in one shot. Also when paying by credit decline conversion at point of sale and let bank to do that. So called ' dynamic conversion ' was invented to skin tourists alive, often without anesthetics.

    Cruising

like many things, after cruising being digitalized by apps , serial whorers don't see need for it anymore
  18. surely communism did. It was why labor friendly laws an welfare state was devised. Do you think today's capitalists would give us 8 hours work day, health insurance or paid vacations if they did not inherit those from the past. We tend to forget that USSR and system it represented sending first two people into space was not laughing stock it become later when rise of consumer society in the West coupled with bankruptcy of communism becoming visible after crushing Solidarity movement in Poland and Afghanistan fiasco. Only then so called neo-liberals in Reagan and Thatcher mode could emerge and come to power. Even if them and their ideas were alive before they were tamed because of fear other model may turn attractive before it turned rotten. Nobody says it's bad it did not materialize but for a while scare existed. It's why American autoworker today needs to work more hours to buy a car he produces than his father working on his in 60-ties. that desire and greed always existed, only changes to capitalistic system in 80-ties described by you , then ' end-of history" liberal crowd after communism collapsed made it possible to today's extend in meantime feeding another monster in the form of Chinese economy and world's dependence on it. Again fed by greed of Western corporations and yes, us, Western consumers
  19. You also reporting quite a crowd inside so AC is not as obnoxious than blowing to half empty space. Music is Ok when we can hear what somebody sitting beside us is saying, unfortunately not always a case in some venues. In defense of Jupiter boys, their expressionless faces are product of bar policy so don't automatically assume they are not interested. For some reason management doesn't want them to be seductive and thinks it's clinet who should make a move. Even boys who knew me from an off tend to stare blank when I'm there next time. But yes, unfortunately in many cases we are buying looks but also attitude there.
  20. I do. after all there's no difference for me who snatches for an off my favorite boy before I make move - Korean girl, Chinese lady, young Latino or elderly farang, member of this forum. Yes , sometimes their behavior is annoying with all that squeaks but guys in audience may be annoying too being excessively drunk or smoking even if not allowed. Point where girls are dangerous and this OP noticed at Jupiter is that they may be getting too much attention from boys. But even there there's good point - they are getting a lot of attention from staff as well thus leaving us alone and free from pestering

    Cruising

I can confirm from personal experience in May/Jun, I was offered sex at least on 2 occasions in no uncertain terms but somehow always I was on my way to other , equally sinister arrangements . I still was surprised by their well working gaydar, those Viets, I'm telling you.
  22. your impressions are matching mine and it goes back to my first or 2nd trip when they were back at old location where Moonlight is now. Great looking but unsmiling guys so one never knows what to expect. I had few good offs from there but two of them were transplants from Tawan, one was smiling but did not survive from last December till May and another one I also knew from Pattaya. Few others were exactly as you say , ego bigger than cock or if there were good, experience was spoiled by them rushing for the exit, big sin in my eyes. Other sins you did not mention is too strong AC and to loud a music, perhaps they toned it down. I despise their practice of reserving seats around the stage for 'better' customers. I understand that logic but still despise it. Yes , I still go there every trip , usually early on after arrival, sometimes even 2-3 times but it's for eye candy only. But in reality it's quintessential boy bar not gay bar and yes , it seems girls are more their targeted audience, both for management and a guys. But we have other options so let them have it.
  23. Ghost on LINE ? Pleeez ! lol
  24. that's the whole idea of bus tours, do you remember movie " If it's Tuesday we are in Belgium" ?
  25. you made me realizing you are right, oops, but I did. So much about lack of cultural sensivity
