  1. nothing humiliating in your stories. Often when we put things on paper in systematic manner it helps us to see problems / issues much more clearly.
  2. we do too but nobody cares to bring it to attention
  3. +1, I wanted to comment ' not yet ' on Moses post but you did it better
  4. isn't he high school dropout ?
  5. from time to time what they post , at least on Facebook, is recycled from the past .In two of recent post within last month I noticed clean chested guy who now has substantial tattoo and another one with leg tattoo much smaller than I know he has
  6. exactly and I think first walk is dressed so Matthew285 had simply bad luck ( or so I hope it was) , second walk is undies only and third is bare chested but in jeans and WITH NUMBERS so we know who is still available . If they go way of BBB in Boyztown and have only fully dressed staff I just wish them good luck although probably I will maintain my habit of visiting them once per trip
  7. my point is , don't do conversion other that initially trying to figure how much one should change and after that just work with your fistful of money without worrying if that coffee is cheaper ore dearer that at home
  8. it's why one of my travel advices I'm freely giving is stop constantly trying to convert your home or any other currency to local one as it will unnecessary stress you . as for your adventure Turkish money at that time was easy to distinguish even with all those zeros as it had distinctive colors so yes , driver audaciously cheated you. Hope he had diarrhoea all next day or two
  9. if he is Thai who never travelled abroad thus not being accustomed to big denominations , initially he may be reluctant to spent as subconsciously say, 100 000 ( 4$ ) will sound to him like a lot of money . This was was comment I recently heard from somebody who went to Cambodia and Indonesia previously travelling only in euro zone + USA / Canada and biggest denomination she ever saw was 200 euro
  10. as long as it stops around bar opening time fun in Bangkok still can be had
  11. daytime or evening / night ?
  12. why? my take on it is that you know better whet you are doing. I'm in favour of giving second chances but yes, KeepItReal has very valid point - who will take care about business ?
  13. my guess is they paid tea money in coins or something
  14. quite wet rainy season indeed
  15. you right and one of my friends was great beneficiary of that scarcity when we had year 2000 scare. So great that next year, at 46 he could comfortably retire, although shrewd previous investments helped
  16. we don't like to be only customer in the bar but if it's too crowded it fast becomes seller market and it's no good either
  17. it's why I prefer bar / massage boys over apps or street trade even if it costs more because of drinks and off fees which I treat as insurance premium and entertainment cost combined. to be fair 2 or 3 times when I grabbed somebody from street were enjoyable and free of thefts and other antics but statistic sample is too small for me to build theory
  18. and then spent rest of vacation wondering why you wasted that first opportunity ? My trips there are taking 24 hrs. + but regardless of time of arrival ( earliest I landed was 5.30 am , the latest at 2.am ) I always feel energized when see familiar sight of BTS tracks over Silom
  19. I gather you are not an optimist
  20. patented 'vinapu cocktail " which is made of 60% of gin and 40% of gin should help to mitigate
  21. we will change that tune when promised high speed train will connect all three
  22. I have good news for you , you don't know and you never will with zero chance of spending 38 behind bars. None of us will know unless placed in the same situation . Guess is some would be bitter till end , others may look , like Peter , for those years to be made as nice as they can be. Still others , not being able to adapt to completely different world, may even long to return to what is familiar. Stories like that unfortunately are repeated world over and are main argument against death penalty .
