Day 18 After entertaining myself for few days in Pattaya and Bangkok time to chance scenery and country and after packing up what I need I went to Foodland for breakfast and straight from there to Don Muang for my 12.30 flight to Phu Quoc, Vietnamese island closer to Cambodia then motherland. My first time there although not first in Vietnam. At 2 pm we landed , my hotel was in the center and I was so anxious to start new adventure that I made two mistakes while still in the airport. First glimpse of the Long Beach : First I did not change money assuming it will be easy in the city. It turned out not so easy at the first look and it took me a while to find place. Of course after I found it , all of the sudden I saw plenty of options. Certainly there are many exchange facilities along the road leading from airport to the city as this is where most hotels are and she runs parallel to properly named Long Beach. So my advice would be to exchange some money in the airport to start loaded although rates are bit better in the city and along the strip. Second mistake actually cost me money as I did not do homework about distance from airport to the city and possible cost . I knew about free bus but as I said I was anxious. I was approached by guy who quoted 30 $ to which I said no very firmly but he still outsmarted me by asking how much you give me and I idiotically offered 20. Later I learned that even 10 would be generous as price should be around 175000 dong = 7 USD. One of biggest attractions of island for tourists are few lines of free green colored electric busses. Stops are clearly posted and main interest is fairly frequent bus # 17 running between airport and northern tip of island with replica of Venice- watch this space tomorrow. How to get the free bus from the airport ? When you get out from terminal look diagonally right across the parking in front . You should see the bus waiting, if not it should come soon , as I said it’s every 20 minutes . It runs along the beach then meanders through the city and again along the beaches up north so chances are your hotel is walking distance from the bus. Certainly both of n mine were, very short distance. Overpaid taxi delivered me to my hotel and once I got to my room I was quite impressed what 35$ buys you there in terms of accommodation. Not to mention breakfast on top floor included. my hotel : and the room : and view from top : I set off to see the city , since I couldn’t see place to change money I went to bank which turned to be good idea as rate was the best 25040 for 1$ and they made me millionaire in a blink. 40$= 1 000 000 dong. Thoughtfully payout was in 100 000 ‘s as guy there said ‘ to make your life easier” . Of course right after that I saw several places to exchange but I was good for now. They have very picturesque temple by the sea , it’s where town and tourists congregates to watch the sunset. For 250 000 one can take sunset cruise with added attraction of fishing for sea food and having it cooked right there. At night of course Night Market, main attraction for me was ice cream made on the spot. They call it Thai ice cream but I never saw this in Thailand. In middle of market is mixed massage place and I spotted very attractive guy offering massage but that being my first night there I decided to leave it for tomorrow. And tomorrow of course he was busy when I passed. As they say’ luck smiles at you only once”.

Day 17 It must be something in Bangkok water as during days this trip I feel very lazy, only with arrival of night I seem to get bouts of energy. This afternoon my out of the scene guy told me he wants to come. This is arrangement we have , since he is working in steady job but on unsteady schedule he tell me when he can come and then I either say yes or no, no fuss , no issues. Usually we meet once or twice per trip for few hours of fake romance but rather real fun. The same happened today, I like him and I sense he appreciates that. Never asks me for anything other than to buy his favorite farang food which by sheer coincidence is bucket of KFC goodies. With some concern I noticed that he seems to start developing a bit of stomach and I was not shy to point it out but he was witty – said kettle calls pot black , he, he. Where he learned that ? After 4 hours of said masterfully faked romance by both of us he left , I made sure to tuck his usual tip in his undies and soon I went to Foodland where reader joined me for a meal and latest gossip. While watching show I was cruised and smiled at by quite a few guys , even his royal highness Babe waved at me , likely recalling tip I gave him on my last visit last week. Nut came to say “ hallo, I did not see you n Moonlight for long time” which had some merit as last few times I visited he was not there or did not notice me. I just love Moonlight with all those smiles but no palms outstretched , no boy ever there suggested to get tipped even if plenty suggested ‘ I go with you “. Y showed up exactly when show was over and off we went. He came from home so was not hungry but I treated myself with banana pancake on Patpong market. I asked what is the reason for his absence and he told me every year he likes to take whole month off. Of course , ever since he has a girl he is available till three but today he surprised me by saying “tonight I will give you time till 4 “ . I gladly accepted extension of audience. Today was quite remarkable for me as all three guys I met clearly appreciated fact that I met them, I could sense that very well. I even thought with Y I finally will have that elusive hand holding only session but no, as soon as light dimmed I noticed that actually it’s not hand I’m holding and we went from there. He left at 3.40 and I could catch some sleep on my last debaucherous night in Bangkok, indeed in Thailand as tomorrow I’m off to Phu Quoc

While you are factually correct I don't think there are many places in the world where prostitution is offered at minimum wage rates. It would take a lot of hard labour and hunting to find bar boy in Bangkok who would go short time for less than 1000 if that's even possible . Street trade may go for less but finding it may be problematic. Boys ( and girls for that matter ) charge not for what they do , they charge for making their bodies available so comparison to people toiling for minimum is missing the mark in my not so humble opinion

Day 16 After guy left I lazed a bit in the room and then went to excellent breakfast downstairs ( again 189, definitely worth the price big time) and then lazed even more. Soon we left, as always when LT is on the cards I asked about him being hungry , he said no but soon when we were passing some Issan restaurant on Silom he suggested ‘ lets eat something ” so we went . Order was not necessarily modest but food was tasty and we left nothing on our plates . I hate when guys order food and don’t eat what they order so I liked that clean plates. I the room all went better than expected and what I wanted, all I got. In the bar he told me he will be able to stay till 6 am only and it was quite impressive that he announced our time is over at 5.57 am exactly. Last hugs, fee dispensed and then I had time to reflect on the meeting. I finally hit my elusive goal and when comes to merit of meeting , I couldn’t ask and expect more, certainly professionally executed escort duties by long salivated about beauty. So I chalked it off as money well spent. Was it worth it ? Other than boosting my ego, probably no. Still a lot of money for just 6 hrs session . I can think of three guys equally greatly built but more personable. My guy did his best to do his job but there was one thing missing , that elusive spark. Will I be inclined to repeat him ? when it happens to me in any bar I make sure to scoop all those coins and if I want to tip them i leave note in the folder. That way hope is they wont be able to play the same trick on somebody else due to eventual shortage of coins. all those coins , while heavy are easily spendable at 7/11 on the way to hotel
