I've ordered bottles from Jupiter and Freshboys late last year so I can share recent experience. Price was about 3000 to 4000 baht depending on bottle. The bars can hold your bottle for 1 month. On first visit, no charge for mixer. Just pay for bottle. However, for 2nd visit, there is a charge of 500 baht for unlimited mixers. At Jupiter, models can sit and drink with you without you having to pay for them. At Freshboys, however, the mamasan strongly encouraged me to buy a drink for guy. The guy himself told me that if I didn't buy drink, mamasan will be angry with him. I didn't want to create any trouble for him so I agreed to the drink. So he had one bottle of beer and one glass for Johnie Walker whisky from my bottle. Now this was not my regular guy.(#25). This was another guy whom I invited down from stage. My regular guy said I didn't have to buy him a drink. He happily helped himself to my bottle when he came to sit down with me. When mamasan asked me whether I wanted to buy him a drink, he waved her away! He has a strong character and doesn't let himself get bullied. Probably why I love him in first place! In both bars, mamasans asked me first whether they could pour themselves a drink from my bottle and drink with me and I said sure. When I leave, I always tip them as well as the waiters pouring and serving me drinks the whole night. Some waiters can be quite cute! Hehe. Even though FB mamasan is known to behave badly to guys, I treat her respectfully. I even gifted her some cosmetics (whitening cream and face masks) so that she will treat my guy well.

For many years, the rate remained at 2000 ST and 3000 LT Recently (as of last Dec), it went up to 2500 ST and 4000 LT An increase of 25% ST and 33% LT. That's higher than rate of inflation!

I agree! I am watching my budget nowadays because of inflation. It's more affordable to visit SK massage shops than off guys from bars in Silom.

If you stay in Bangkok and go for massage at Phetboy every day, that's at least 300 massages! 10k divided by 300 massages = 30 baht per massage paid to shop! I think the shop management didn't really think things through.

Many Vietnamese guys have gone or are starting to go back to Vietnam for Tet which is in less than 2 weeks time. My regular guy at Freshboys went back yesterday and his number 25 tag immediately went to a new guy - from Myanmar! My guy will be away for one month and will only be back end February. I don't know whether he can get back his number 25. He always says it's his lucky number.

Yes, if you buy a bottle at Jupiter, you don't have to pay admission ticket.

I am sure after you found out about J's sad situation, you felt guilty for not helping him. I felt the same for my guy last year. His grandmother had passed away in Vietnam and he needed to go back urgently so he asked me for one way air ticket and I obliged and booked for him. Once in Vietnam, he asked me for money to pay for funeral expenses and it was a huge sum and I refused and ignored his messages. I felt that I had already helped him through buying his air ticket. I also felt that his family members in Vietnam should be chipping in to pay for funeral. Also, in my mind, why do you need such an elaborate and expensive funeral? It caused some tension between me and him for a few months after that. When we met again, he showed me photos of funeral and I started to feel guilty. I could have sent some money over. Not the amount asked for but I could have sent just a fraction.

I feel Cambodians and Myanmar speak best English. Followed by Laos and Vietnam. Thai standard of English is unfortunately the worst among the 5 countries.
