I believe most guys now are behaving properly and giving good service. But once high season kicks in and there are customers aplenty, they might try their tricks again.

And so October has passed and I didn't go to Bangkok unlike previous months. It helped that my regular guy was not in Bangkok for 2 weekends as he went home to Vietnam for two weeks from end September onwards to mid October. There were still 2 weekends in October available and I had to control myself from booking an air ticket. I miss him terribly. We chat every day. He tells me that many customers go to his bar (Freshboys) but mainly to watch the show. Few offs for the guys during this low season. He gets by on drinks and tips with occasional short-time offs. An interesting encounter was being offed with 5 other guys to drink with Chinese customer. He was drunk and only woke up after noon the next day! I have a 3-week trip in December. I didn't like the fact that there's no complimentary bottles of drinking water. Each room has a water bottle for guests to fill up with water from water dispenser at end of corridor.

2k baht is low for short time in Bangkok. It's minimum 2.5k baht at Freshboys. That's what management tells the guys to say to customers. At other bars, it's 2.5k to 3k depending on individuals. Hot Male has always had lower traffic than the other bars in the same soi. Probably because its location is more difficult to find. The big difference between Hot Male and the other bars is the lack of ladyboy lipsynching singers. All performances are done by the Hot Male guys themselves which is commendable but they may not seem as polished as the performers in other bars.
