Back to OP's question which started this topic. Here's my response. Tip for big cock show guys 100 baht. Not necessary to tip every guy. Only those guys whom you wish to tip. Not necessary to tip guys whom you invite to sit with you. You are already buying them a drink. But this is provided it is a short interaction probably 10 minutes. It's meant for both parties to introduce each other and talk about possible off. If no off forthcoming, the guy will go back on stage. If you ask the guy to stay with you to watch the show with you, you should tip him either 100 or 200 baht because he will be with you more than 10 minutes. You should inform him in advance. If you want to kiss and fondle, do be seated at one of the seats at the back or in the corner. You can tell him that you want to do that and you should tip more.

In the past, opening a bottle of whisky was a reasonable idea. 4000 baht to be with 3 or 4 guys and tip them 500 each for the night. But as of last year onwards, the bars insist that I buy each guy a boy drink even though I order a bottle. The only bar that doesn't do that is Jupiter but I don't fancy the guys there compared to those at Freshboy, Dreamboy and Good Boy.

I agree that sometimes it helps to ask mamasan if you have too many choices and you need to narrow down the number of choices.

I only tip the big cock show guys I know personally - either I bought them drinks in the past or I know they are good friends of my guy. At Dreamboy, I always tip 2 big cock show guys because they are my guy's good friends. At Freshboy, I end up tipping all big cock show guys - ranging from 6 of them working on a quiet weekday to 10 of them working on a weekend - because I know at least 5 of them personally and it wouldn't be nice not to tip the remaining guys!

I have wondered about that as well. There were two ocassions in two different bars (not Jupiter) when I ordered Johnnie Walker but the guys who drank with me (we finished the bottle) didn't seem drunk! I myself wasn't drunk as I deliberately didn't drink that much. But I would say the drinks sold at Midnight bar are definitely authentic because I often see the waiters drunk after they spent the night drinking with customers!

Well-thought of and practical plan. Spreading the bottle over 2 visits is a good excuse to visit Jupiter again! During my visit with forum members to Jupiter, mamasan always ask us if we want a bottle. There were usually 4 of us. Unfortunately most don't drink alcohol so we declined ordering a bottle and were content with our individual drinks.

I remember the mamasan showing me the seal on the bottle of Johnnie Walker at Jupiter when I ordered a bottle. Very classy gesture to let customers see the seal and watch it opened, thus certifying it's authentic.

You are correct that the bottle makes sense if it is a group of customers. Of course, if it is a wealthy customer, he can easily order a bottle and surround himself with many guys. Paying boy drinks is not a problem for him. Such customers typically spend more than 10k baht per visit. Regarding boy drinks, once the guy has finished his drink, the bar would want him to go back up on stage. But if there is a bottle, he can continue staying to drink with customer. This is why sometimes I get a bottle and be with my favourite guys the whole night.
