Since you like concerts, you should go to Thai rock concerts or at least to pubs with Thai rock bands playing live music. The Thais really know how to rock and roll. I have seen many Tiktok videos of Thai rock concerts (the songs are sung in Thai of course).but I could never convince my guy to go with me. He's Vietnamese and prefers slow Vietnamese love songs. ❤️

1700 baht all in is not cheap. I did not expect prices in Chiang Mai to be the same as in Bangkok. Generous of you to tip additional 200 baht. The guy would already receive some of the 1700 baht charged by the shop (half the amount?)

I agree. Once in a while, I step inside the bars and have a drink before offing the guys. I can easily bypass the bars and off the guys directly as I have their Line contacts. To their credit, the mamasans realise this about their regular customers. Hence they always treat us very well when we go in for a drink and chat with them.

I believe someone on the forum has written about the host bars. The rich customers who go to host bars are not there to off the guys but to flaunt their wealth. Their happy ending comes when they succeed in showing off to the other customers that they can buy the most drinks.

I am so used to taking ARL because I started taking it last year during weekend trips that even when I am on a longer trip and have a big luggage, I shun the taxi and still take ARL. I have seen tourists with 2 or 3 large luggage taking ARL! Yes, with latest news of changeover, there might be delays, but it is to he expected. Passengers will just have to bear and endure with temporary inconvenience.

Or arrive at night after 10pm. Little traffic at night.

Among the ASEAN countries, the fans most passionate about football are the Vietnamese and Indonesians. In the recent ASEAN Cup final first match between Thailand and Vietnam held in Bangkok, the noise made by the minority Vietnam fans was louder than the Thais in their own stadium. Most of the Vietnam fans are currently working in Bangkok plus a small group of Ultras from Vietnam who travel with the Vietnam football team for away matches. In the bars, if there is a football match where Vietnam is playing, the guys will watch the match on their handphones during their break time when they stepped down from the stage.

Maybe temperatures are higher in rural countryside and the sun's rays are stronger. My guy always wears long sleeve shirt and big hat when he is working at his parent's rice field in Vietnam.
