Even if it's 2030, the staff of Foodland Patpong will remember you!

After lunch was afternoon nap. At 6pm, I went out for massage appointment at soi 6. I stopped by at Don Don Donki to buy some glow in dark light sticks. Tonight was karaoke night and I was getting things ready. Massage was great. Ended just in time for me to meet my guy for dinner at Foodland. At 9pm, we made our way to Sky Bar at Soi Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra 1 (I copied and pasted the name from Google Map). Forum members and their guys joined us. 600 baht for 1 hour for karaoke room excluding drinks and food. 7 of us altogether. We sang from 9.30pm to 12.15am. Great fun. After that was supper at Foodland. 3rd night in a row the staff there have seen my group. After supper, we split up and I went back to hotel with my guy. End of Day 3.

Day 3. While my guy was working, I went shopping on my own at Big C and Centralworld. I had lunch at The Commons which is just beside Bandara Suites. It was a Saturday so no office workers and the place was quiet. My first time to The Commons. Different food from different countries at food court. Interesting concept of community, networking and shared working spaces. I had Vietnamese food for lunch and sent photos to my guy. Maybe we will go there to eat to see how authentically Vietnamese is the cooking. 20250614_141921.mp4

After playing for close to 3 hours, we ended this informal pool competition with my guy coming in 3rd out of 4 players. He didn't say anything about the pool table. All he said was that it was not his lucky day! As sponsor of competition, I gave away the prizes - 1200 baht for 1st place, 1000 baht for 2nd place, 800 baht for 3rd place and 500 baht for 4th place. It was off to Foodland for supper and then back to hotel. End of Day 2.

After dinner, we played chess to pass time until 9pm. We took complimentary hotel tuk tuk which dropped us outside Park Silom then we crossed Silom Road to Patpong. Tonight was pool night. I had organised a pool competition for the 4 best pool guys in Patpong bars. They can be found playing pool at open bar with pool table below Freshboys from 8pm to 9.30pm on most days. My guy is of course one of them! In March, I had taken the guys to play pool at the small pool bar operated by ladies near Foodland. But my guy said that pool table was old and had a lot of wear and tear. So I looked around the neighbourhood for a place with pool table in good condition. Found it! It's at Patpong market next to King's Castle lady bar. It's on the 2nd floor and there are 4 sumptuous brand new pool tables. My guy cannot use the pool table as an excuse if he loses!

It rained on and off on Saturday. No sun at all so definitely not going to hotel swimming pool. While my guy was at work, I was lazing in room. In the morning, I went to 7/11 to buy cooking oil, salt, sauce, sausages and eggs. My guy was going to cook dinner for me after his work ended. Unfortunately, there were no fresh vegetables at this 7/11. At noon, I went for lunch and met forum members at Foodland and later Starbucks to chit chat. We were together a few hours because at one stage it was raining heavily were stuck indoors. At 4.30pm, I had to go to Foodland supermarket to buy fresh vegetables. I also got marinated black pepper chicken meat. On my way back, I bumped into an old friend on his way to his work as a waiter on soi 4. We said hi and were happy to bump into each other. My regular guy knows him as they both started in same bar in soi Twilight years again. I tell myself I must go to soi 4 to meet him and give him a tip. I returned to hotel room. At 6.30pm, my guy arrived. He took a look at what I had bought and went about to prepare dinner for us. "No chilli?" he asked. Oops, I forgot! But it was alright. My guy set about making his own sauce. Half an hour later, dinner was ready. Bon appetite!

I am staying at Bandara Suites. I had searched for hotel rooms with kitchen because I wanted my guy to cook for me. Quarter Sala Daeng and Bandara Suites met criteria for me pricewise. They face each other directly opposite along Sala Daeng soi 1. Even though both hotels are a distance away from gay Silom, both have complimentary tuk tuk service to Silom Complex / Sala Deang BTS. The rooms at Bandara Suites are bigger but the clincher is the separate bedroom. As I am an early riser, I want to be able to go to living area when I wake up and let my guy continue sleeping inside room.

I agree about the risk of guy being unavailable if we don't inform about our arrival. I was "lucky" that customer didn't choose to off my guy after he called him to drink with him. If customer had decided to off him, it would be so awkward for me to be in same bar. I really don't know what I would have said to him. The customer was quite decent. He gave my guy 200 baht for drinking with him for about half hour. The customer called other guys down to drink with him and to get to know them. I think he called at least 3 different guys down. He eventually offed a popular guy after being with him for an hour. I have heard of some customers who order bottle of whisky and call guys to drink with them for quite some time. After drinking, the customers didn't give a single tip to the guys.

In fact it was two European customers who ordered the bottle of whisky and they invited my guy and another popular guy in the bar to drink with them. Instead of standing below Freshboys and waiting for the all clear signal, I went to Midnight bar and said hello to the waiters. I bought drinks for two of them and we chatted. At 10.45pm, my spies informed me that my guy was "released" by customer and was standing on stage. I said goodbye to waiters at Midnight bar and went up to Freshboys. My guy was seated with favourite forum members. They had the good sense to quickly call him to sit with them before another customer takes him. He was happy to see me and we hugged. By then, he had figured out that I was in town. "How many days you in Bangkok?" I told him five nights but I only pay bar off first for tonight and tomorrow night (tentatively karaoke). I also told him I was there with my friends. We would stay until Freshboys closing at 1am. It was FB night for us. OK, he got changed and sat with me the rest of the night. There was a good crowd at Freshboys. Not packed until you can't squeeze a guy to sit next to you but almost all seats were taken by customers. I said hello to many of the guys. I gave cigarettes to the smokers whom I know personally. I also gave mamasan a bottle of perfume. She was in a happy mood the rest of the night. I tipped some of the big cock show guys. I also tipped a guy who sat with me awhile and I enjoyed his company but pf course he knew I would not off him. Everyone in the bar knows who was my regular guy. 25 guys worked at Freshboys tonight Thursday night. About 15 guys got offed. Left 10 guys remaining at 1 am. Business was good! My entourage went to Foodland for supper. Each of us had a guy. At about 1.45am, we said goodbye to each other.

4th trip this year. Yes, I can hear the groans and silent cursing of many forum members. 6 days 5 nights. Thursday to Tuesday. Extended weekend. I decided to take a trip because favourite forum members happened to be in Bangkok at same time. Purposely kept trip a surprise from my regular guy at Freshboys. I concocted an elaborate plan go surprise him because I wanted to see his reaction. The plan was other forum members go into Freshboys first. I will wait downstairs. They will get him to sit with them. They will then blindfold him. After getting signal from them, I will go inside, sit close to him, hold his hands, say his name and see his surprised face when he takes off the blindfold. Then we will hug and kiss. And everyone around us will be happy for us. Well, that was the plan. Who knew that at relatively early time in the night (10pm), my guy would be seated and drinking with a guy with bottle of whisky!!!!!!

Yes I love him very much. That's why I am back in Bangkok one month later now! Will start new topic tomorrow for live trip report for next 5 days!
-
I still appreciate the gift nevertheless. It's the thought that counts!
-
Why don't you send him a direct message and make a booking for the next time you go to Bangkok? 🤣
-
Thanks, guys, for compliments on my trip report. I will relay your praises to my guy. There are many other hardworking guys working two jobs and I feel we should acknowledge it's not easy for them. Hats off to them!
-
Yes I agree we have to learn to say no in bars. Once we form a reputation as a generous tipper, the guys in the bars will always come at us.

You are a kind soul! 👍👍👍

Another observation to add. Being in the company of 4 hot shirtless guys in kitchen is an unforgettable experience!

I agree that 56 Surawong is a fantastic value! Great location and rooms look modern and clean. I haven't stayed there personally but I saw the photos and I like them. If not for my preference for swimming pool (and sometimes kitchen), I probably stay at hotels such as 56 Surawong.

And that's my trip report! Short trip and I wasn't sure if it's worth posting. Nothing really new for seasoned forum members to read about. It was a memorable birthday for me, that's for sure. And I am thankful I have my guy for making it special. Back at home, I went to buy an acrylic magnetic display stand for banknotes. This is where I put the banknote from my guy and I see it every day. 🥰🥰🥰

My guy and I went to Foodland for supper. I took out my chess set and we played while eating. After we had finished, we went back to hotel room for what seemed to be the most intense and wild night we ever had in all the years we knew each other. We slept soundly after that but not too soundly because we had to wake up by 8am - he had to go to work and I had to go to the airport!
-
The next morning at about 8am, my guy went off to work. I checked out of apartment and went back to Ibis Styles. I continued sleeping, now in a more comfortable bed. I woke up for lunch at soi 3 local eating place and came back to hotel and wanted to swim in pool but it started raining. Darn. So I ended up in hotel room watching Netflix the whole afternoon. Thankfully the rain stopped at 5 and I could go out for a walk. I passed by Soi 4 and lo and behold, sitting on a stool was massage guy from Adam Massage. He smiled at me and off we went to his shop for massage! After massage, I went to Shennanigans bar where I had arranged to meet my guy. It was football night and we watched live football matches (English Premier League, Spanish La Liga) for the next few hours - ending with El Classico - Barcelona vs Real Madrid. Both of us were Real Madrid supporters. Unfortunately, Barcelona won the match. We left Shennanigans and walked to Happy Beer Garden. We wanted their private room for karaoke. To our utter disappointment, Happy Beer Garden was closed! "Shall we go to Sky Bar karaoke?" My guy says the rooms at Sky Bar are too big for two people. So we decided to postpone karaoke to next trip. We walked towards Foodland for supper. On the way there, we walked past Good Boys. It was closed as well! "Buddhist holiday?" I asked my guy. But he said his bar was open. And we looked around. Atlas, Hot Male and Dreamboys were all open. At that moment, the waiters from Midnight saw me. They knew it was my last night in Bangkok and cheekily asked for one round of drinks to toast me Happy Birthday one more time and wish me good luck. Sure, why not. They opened a bottle of Jagermeister (which cost 1500 baht) and poured out 10 shot glasses. I then placed a 100 baht note below each shot glass. Everyone gathered around and toasted me loudly. "Happy Birthday! Cheers! Kanpai!"
