Male dancer shocked after drink spiked with sexual stimulant
thaiophilus replied to a topic in The Beer Bar
That was the Thaiger article. I was referring to the "more objective" (your words) Thairath article quoted by tm_nyc: 'looking like an LGBTQ' . The actual words are "ลักษณะคล้าย LGBTQ". ลักษณะ means "physical characteristics, appearance; characteristic; manner". คล้าย means "to resemble; look like". Source: Thai-English Student's Dictionary, Mary R Haas, Stanford University Press, 1964. ISBN 0-8047-0567-4. -
I'm imagining being the patient in the next bed when they drew the screens around and the grinding noises started...

Male dancer shocked after drink spiked with sexual stimulant

I think what that means is that a Thai-speaking witness actually said "looking like a katoey" which any native Thai speaker would understand. The journalist has helpfully (cluelessly) translated it into "LGBTQ" for the benefit of English-speaking readers. A few years ago they'd just have written "ladyboy". -
Buy something small at a 7-11. Company policy is not to object to people splitting large notes. Alternatively, ask the bar cashier to split them "for tips".

Where doesn't seem to matter. Nor does what you wear: I've seen it suggested that's why in some bars they wear (only) a condom on stage 🤯.

What (and where?) was the Boyztown incarnation called? I don't recall an M Bar. Any chance you can share some of her other answers here, or is it too inflammatory for print? 😲

"the city’s image as a family-friendly destination." 🥱 Reading that, one might think Pattaya Railway Station was in the centre of the city, bringing hourly trainloads of happy tourist families from far-flung destinations. 🤣

Yes. Probably B450.

Keeping it legal? If he's wearing a hat he's not nude 😉

Currently it's more a building site.

Those quotes are for TWO rooms x 2 nights. Are you sure that's what you meant?

I have scans of maps from Thai Scene and The Men of Thailand dated 1994-1997, and they all show Tawan (aka Tawan Cocktail Lounge aka Tawan Club) at the same location on Soi Tantawan.

oops, finger trouble.

Not "exactly". I didn't notice her making a gratuitous personal attack, which is probably what earned you your arrows.

My question about what makes firstt class was intended more to stimulate discussion than as a serious request for information, but a lurker has PMd an explanation of the official bus classes: "1st class: luxe, with AC, if run by private contractors often labelled 'VIP´; should have an onboard toilet (which does not guarantee it's usable!). Mostly non stop or at least no official stops en route. 2nd: basic AC, just a seat and nothing more. Nowadays mostly minivans; will also do intermediate stops 3rd: rarely seen today, old style orange non-AC does all stops, takes each+everything onboard etc. Also the big songthaews that serve most very local provincial lines. 4th: double deck bus, with AC, very few of these, intermediate between 1st/2nd. Prone to accidents and thus mistrusted by most Thai now."

I wonder what makes it "first-class"? Suggestions invited...

( quoting a month-old thread) Do tell 🤣

The main thing to note is that the local train still departs from Hualamphong (not Krung Thep Aphiwat). To Ayutthaya it costs 20B (3rd class, no booking needed.) See https://www.seat61.com/Thailand.htm#Bangkok_to_Ayutthaya Seat61 also has some useful advice about timing on the return journey. Then hire a bicycle for the day for another 50-100 baht,.

But you don't have that excuse, so what's your point? "A quarrel in a far-away country between people of whom we know nothing" ?

LGBTQ+ students arrested after assault clip sparks protest

Back in 1990 it was LGBO*, and that was probably tongue in cheek: "O for Others, * for anyone who still feels left out". -
I have my own domain, so I can put anything I like to the left of the @ . For particular interests or activities e.g. travel, theatre, etc I have separate mailboxes with matching names, so email arrives pre-sorted. For websites, mailing lists etc. I generally use their name, so when that address starts receiving spam or scams I know which site has been compromised.

International Kite on the Beach Festival Begins Feb. 26
thaiophilus replied to a topic in Gay Pattaya
... is it sponsored by Nice Boys/Boys Nighclub? (well, it's where I'd go to see a display of kite flying - 300B to the winner! 🪁🍆) -

Ah, Chiang Rai, where one of the biggest night-life attractions is watching the clock tower change colour 😀. Does the Regency Boys Bar still exist, and if so what is it like? I looked in once and it was so dark I couldn't see anything (anyone!) that would have tempted me in. Then there's the White and Blue temples: and the Black House: Further afield, don't miss the 25-storey Kuan Yin at Wat Huay Pla Kang. and the Abbot appears to be a reincarnation of Matt Lucas...
