It really depends on how jealous or possessive you plan to be. If you both can agree to keep it fairly open, it could work for both. For younger guys (certainly me in my time) dating upwards is a different way of experiencing the world and understanding what maturity (of mind not of body) means. And now I’m on the older side of the fence, I date or hire younger guys for their energy, curiosity and of course their insatiable sexual appetite. I attended a lecture on health in our older years.
The lecturer spoke about the importance of eating lots of protein.
I asked him if I could get that from protein shakes or powder and he told me just to eat steak - and lots of it.
I haven't eaten steak in years, not because I don't like it, but because I gave up cooking at home years ago.
But since he told me that, I went out and bought a new frypan and have been eating a piece of fillet steak every night for over a month now.
I had forgotten how delicious it is - well done and eaten with worstershire sauce!
Now I know why my Pattaya guy always ordered steak whenever we went to his favourite restaurant - the Japanese restaurant Fuji at Central Mall. I'd forgotten how good it is.
Japan is famous for its ridiculously priced 'wagyu' steak, but considering it's so fatty - the A5 grade is basically 60% or more fat, I don't think there's much protein in it.
As for us Aussies being into health and fitness, that's not particularly true at all. It's mainly the young who go to gyms to work out, but lots of gyms end up going bankrupt. They open and close all the time.
There is a fantastic tennis complex near where I live but it's essentially deserted. I wouldn't be surprised if it turns into a housing development.
Everyone here is attached to their iPads and phones. It's big problem with school kids. Programs to encourage them to exercise appear to be failing.

This guy needs a rap over the knuckles. You can get sufficient protein from chicken breast, eggs, fish or tofu combined with protein powder. It’s not just steak. Try to buy organic meat if you can. Eating too much steak can have its downsides especially if you’re frying it in oil everyday!
Try and mix things up, eggs in the morning, grilled chicken breast or fish later on. Vary these with your steak days. Fish oil is good for you as well.
I can’t eat wagyu, the fat in it is so rich it makes me feel sick. Waiters always think I’m a tightwad when I refuse to order the wagyu in restaurants. I buy galbi or beef short rib cuts from Asian supermarkets and air fry it. It’s fat enough to cook in its own oil and doesn’t get too dry, but not as nauseatingly marbled as wagyu.

Never thought I’d agree with @mauRICE on anything but I am 100% behind this statement. Australia has incredible natural coastline, city parks, great walking spots and superb fresh air (especially right now) unlike the heat humidity and polluted smog of South east Asia. It baffles me that some people just choose to stay at home and watch TV.
Again agreeing with @mauRICE (what a novelty!) strength training is essential at any age and even more in retirement so you can pick up your own suitcase. The Philippines has excellent affordable gyms and hot personal trainers so there are plenty of incentives.
I’ve had a few unavoidable health issues (a bad lung infection caused by air borne bacteria picked up in India) and minor accidents that have gotten in the way of keeping fit, my plan for the last quarter of 2026 is to work back up to peak health.

I was diagnosed with bladder cancer which had spread to my lungs in January. I managed one short trip to bkk in April before the chemo/immuno started. The good news was that the ct scan in August showed my lung tumours had reduced by 50%. After about 57 trips to Thailand in 16 years I miss it. Seize the day.

This thread has ended up as useless as my Koh Samui one. Friday night in Chiang Mai and I'm not going to a bar or getting a massage. Sorry all lol.
Ended up skipping Mae Kampong so I could spend another day with the local. Started off with some bedroom fun here at the Airbnb. We then went up to the rooftop pool and it turned into a photoshoot. I'm a wanna be photographer and he was impressed with my work especially once I showed him color correction. You really can't take bad shots up there anyway... it's a beautiful infinity pool and you've got the mountains in the background and it was sunset.
He loves Italian food, as do I, so we checked out a place near my Airbnb I'd walked by a bunch times. It was good but like last night, nothing worth plugging. Dessert again in my bedroom and he just left... he's working at 6a tomorrow. Two rounds again today - so yeah not at all horny tonight to go to find paid fun... this kid has more than taken care of that need.
So the juggling act begins in 24 hours. Heard from the Bangkok teacher. He is coming after all. Here we go.

Yes you are absolutely right. I’ve met guys who are effectively trilingual (the English is a bit of a miss but hey their English is far better than my Thai) yet their reading literacy is borderline.
For a long time I was puzzled by why a regular guy refused to go to the cinema with me since he spent most of his time watching movies on his phone. There were some good ones like the latest Avengers or similar which I thought he would enjoy. Finally it dawned on me that subtitles was the issue, as he couldn’t read fast enough. On a side note I have actually sat through a non-subtitled Thai movie with zero idea about what was going on. It was a rainy day in Pattaya, we were at a loose end on how to pass time, and the boy was anxious to see some newly released blockbuster that all his friends had seen. Just looked it up, it was Khun Paen Begins with Mario Maurer. A Thai historical film which also contained fantasy and slapstick comedy. I’m sure I would have enjoyed it very much if I could understand any of it.

Evening gents... another fail in terms of giving you any good juice on the bars... I think I'm in for the night. Local guy and I spent the day together. He just left for work. Had some fun this morning when he arrived at my Airbnb. We then went out to breakfast at my favorite little American diner and then headed back to Nimman. Checked out their mall (Maya). Nothing like the mega malls in Bangkok, but nicer than most US malls these days. We went to a movie (Avengers) where I started falling asleep in the first hour. How he wasn't yawning and dozy is beyond me. He worked until 6am and was at my place by 10:30. After we came back and grabbed dinner at a little Thai restaurant across the street. Nothing worth plugging but it was ok. And he was my dessert back in the Airbnb. 😜
He wore this yellow zip up jacket today with no shirt underneath. It was driving me wild all day. His chest gets me all, well you know. Most guys are about bulge and so forth. I'm a smile and chest guy. He is well equipped but his rare combo of cute and sexy is what drives me nuts.
