No discussion. Definite at today's CCSA meeting bars, clubs, karaoke, discos cannot open before the 15th of January.
-
Soi4 is in Silom in Bangkok.
-
The only 'out of context' here is with the title of the thread!
-
Not standard for me. Probably means the first of December 2021.
-
No bars or clubs are open Only places with restaurant licenses. And they are not allowed to sell alcohol (and probably still not tomorrow if they don't have an SHA license). If you want current news -- follow Richard Barrow on Facebook or Twitter.

Thailand welcomes visitors from 46 countries from Nov 1

Richard Barrow's Newsletters and bulletins are the most reliable and up to date information. (Usually posted WAY BEFORE anything appears on the Bangkok Post website!). Last week he corrected info. on a CCSA infographic. Very soon he will be coming back to Thailand (only a week or so away) and will recount his airport experiences. -

Much more charitable than my description of government policy. Have a look a Richard Barrow's newsletters and posts on Facebook for the most reliable and up to date news (hours earlier than the Bangkok Post). Last week he pointed out two errors on CCSA infographics! -

I have a premonition --- probably as wrong as all my previous ones -- that to save face the dictator at the end of this month, will declare restaurants will be able to serve alcohol from the 15th of November and then at the end of the month all will be open. -

Please read Richard Barrow's newsletters! He is the most knowledgeable writer on the situation here. Only last week he spotted two errors on official CCSA infographics. As to 'light at the end of the tunnel' not till start of December for clubs and bars.😠-
Of course 'no quarantine' actually means 'one night quarantine in a selected hotel' to await test results.

My sums are not too good, so what is the population of Bangkok? -
Ran out of brown envelopes?

So do these swab tests need an overnight quarantine to await results?

Let's see on Thursday after the CCSA meeting. -
PM has asked the CCSA and the Ministry of Public Health to urgently consider allowing foreign visitors to enter Thailand without any requirement for quarantine if they are fully vaccinated and arrive by air from low-risk countries. All they are required to do is to show an RT-PCR test result undertaken before they leave their home country, and do a test in Thailand. After that they will be free to move around Thailand as Thais can do. Actually the CCSA meeting will be on Thursday, chaired by the dictator can approve these or other easing (or tightening) of restrictions. Also no alcohol in restaurants till December!

One problem here is that people who only quickly scan headlines assume that the headline reflects the whole story. This results in various contradictory stories on the same day. Something that those of us who have lived here '20 years plus' have sussed out. We read beyond the headline to find that it is just a suggestion being brought up in some sub-committee but the headline suggests that it is an imminent law change. This is a method used by the U.K.'s gutter press like the Daily Mail or Express to grab clicks.
