The rain is warm and at times exciting.

Also advertising today that proof of vaccination required for entry to Pride or Circus. Alternatively, they offer on the spot private rapid tests for 100 Baht --results in 10 minutes. No fear of bumping into Novak there then.

Today, they are advertising live music from Weds. to Sunday (tomorrow, Wednesday , a 'Ladies' Night!!!).

Third time lucky - December 2021 trip to Thailand in covid time
Patanawet replied to vinapu's topic in Gay Thailand
Excellent report again, thank you. -
Indeed, this is just a proposal at the moment. I imagine to be put to the CCSA meeting on Friday (Fridays, the daily meeting is chaired by the PM). The Public Health Ministry will recommend the suspension of the "Test and Go" convenient entry programme for fully vaccinated air travellers because of the escalating Omicron variant situation worldwide. https://www.bangkokpost.com/.../test-go-entry-may-be...

Thank you for your polite and reasoned response.

Sorry Bob I think it is a bit irresponsible to repeat boy gossip like this on a public forum without substantiation. This could affect the livelihood of many staff relying on the soi for their food. I didn't go out last night but I asked friends who did, whether they heard anything like this. None heard a thing. I also contacted two owners who also knew of no staff sick from Covid.

I think this is very unlikely. I think that I would have heard. It looks like Thai boy gossiping. I will find out what I can tonight.

Midguy, another excellent report -- keep 'em coming please. And no comments from me to be mis-interoperated as criticism by pedants, just one question -- you mentioned a 'cosy' bar at the end of soi4. May I ask which end? At one end (the darker end) there are two gayish comfy bars -- 'Sports on 4" and the other 'Bas Bar'. Both popular for years and good to see Sports has recently reopened. At the start of the soi, on the corner of Silom is a brand new bar called (I think) Silver Sands. It is owned and run by two 'ladies' from one of the islands. I haven't been in yet but it looks as though it could be quite gay. The floor above ground floor is due to open as a Korean restaurant and, this time a rumour for the future, the top two floors as a Cabaret bar. Finally, I've passed your kind comments about Connections Bar onto Ross an Aek the owners.

Sorry, my mistake -- " I was put in a van on my own which I previously requested by email." I read as 'Requested a van in advance' rather than ' van on MY OWN in advance". In no way was it a criticism, just to point out to others that it would be wise to make sure and why.

Good report. I can see only one thing you did wrong --- booked the hotel VAN. Because if ANYONE on the van tested positive everyone on the van would have to do the same quarantine as them, Lucky for you, you were the lone passenger. Looking forward to part two.

Maybe high speed rail service, but then up to an hour to get to central Bangkok from Bang Sue. -
Golden Cock the first gay bar I visited in Thailand decades ago. Nature Boy when I was feeling naughty. I haven't been back since the amalgamation but it is stretching my imagination to see two bars occupying the N.B. premises (seemed like half a shophouse😁). Good luck to them both.

And guess which restaurants would be immediately closed by the BIB? I invite you to argue your case with the local police.
-
It would be helpful if people who post advice on requirements for entry were those who have actually done it (enter Thailand very recently) rather than those non-travellers who are trying to interoperate government requirements.

It's not. And no sign of life in the soi at Jupiter up till last night. I thought that opening is one week away. Maybe you're confusing it with D.J.

However, the state of emergency was renewed for another 2 months!

You need to read more closely. Thailand airports opened to incoming on 1st of November. Nothing to do with clubs, bars alcohol etc. If you want to know about the reasons Pinocchio gave for the 15th January, look around these boards or Bangkok Post or Google. One glimmer of hope is that some committees reporting to the CCSA are pushing for easing before January -- to be discussed this Friday. Look for the thrice weekly English language CCSA bulletin broadcast on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

As I said above -- 'FULL food menu'.
-
Balcony, Pride (and soon Circus) , Connections and Sands(?) ALL operate FULL food menus -- hardly "in name only".
