Expats are included in Thailand’s vaccination plan
Patanawet replied to TotallyOz's topic in Gay Thailand
Well, some progress -- maybe. I followed a link (forget where from) that took me to a site where I could register online. Oh, it's called intervac. http://www.thailandintervac.com Amongst other things it lists there, vaccines (2 available now and 2 not). COVID-19 Vaccine Availability Updated on June 6th,2021 Sinovac (Available) AstraZeneca (Available) Johnsons & Johnsons Moderna On completing the form, I got this confirmation: VACCINE BOOKING INFORMATION Date 01 JAN 1970 Place - Time Status Wait for an email confirmation from oicddchotline@gmail.com Make of that what you will. As an aside, the spokesman on the CCSA daily bulletin just said that from today it is not possible for 'walk-in' registrations.. Wait and see I suppose. -

No registration for private jabs yet. Email from Samitivej last night. Greetings from Samitivej Sukhumvit Hospital. We regret to inform you that currently we are not open for registration and COVID vaccine is not available at our hospital at this moment. We still do not have information on exactly when, which vaccine(s) will be available to us, how many doses we will be able to procure, or what the price of each dose will be at this point in time. When the information becomes clearer, we will be sure to keep you updated with the details. We thank you for your understanding and patience in the matter very much. Best regards, Thanarat Pichetsuntorn Samitivej Sukhumvit Hospital -

The way that I understood the live statement was that within a week or two Thais will be able to drop in at malls etc. closely followed by farang, just as soon as the UK Track and trace Trace system has helped them set up a world beating app. -
I have always wondered on all three boards if it would be possible to flag threads that have gone far away from the the original thread title. How annoying if one is, for example, looking for information on tourist zones with quarantine free opening to be confronted with lengthy discussions on monorail definitions and no way, without reading them all, to know if someone has hopefully gone back to the OP's meaning. This is only an example; all boards are guilty of this.

And today ----- This is on a Reuters website today hmmmmmmm, "Thailand plans to waive its mandatory quarantine for vaccinated visitors to its capital Bangkok and top tourist destinations from October, an official said on Friday, in a bid to revive a key industry battered by coronavirus travel curbs". https://forum.thaivisa.com/topic/1216343-thailand aims-for-wider-tourism-reopening-from-october/?fbclid=IwAR2ifgcwM5wvXE5cGACK23Hj6RYDriagEMP0OEb0C5e7v8lGjhLYPNxaGGY

Searched through Al Jazeera but could find nothing about Thailand today.

Thanks z909, you talk a lot of sense.

And what about the $100,000 covid medical insurance and is there a compulsory 500,000 Baht bank balance requirement?

A friend on retirement visa came back from UK and had to pay 17,000 for the Covid insurance. -

And the compulsory 7K-17K Baht Covid insurance for $100,000 cover will put some off. -
I probably meant 'they might OK Songkran with cloth masks'
-
And Songkran to look forward to! Knowing the Thai health authorities and their 'oh so knowledgeable' boss, they might all Songkran WITH masks
-
Anddy, please tell us that the photo is not from last night -- dangerously crowded and not a mask in sight.

I visited soi 4 last night and what a pleasant surprise. Busy just like the old days. Every bar (except Welcome Bar) was open and busy. Jupiter open again. Banana open again Hugs open again. Strangers Bar open again. Balcony Pub had Aomam the lady singer. Pride had a singer guitarist. Stranger was packed into the soi like the old weekend nights. Balcony and Telephone terraces were full to capacity as was Connection. Let's hope that was a sign of things to come. The only downside was the thousands of tiny moths gathered around any bright lights. I'm told that this is a regular annual occurrence and usually is only one night -- then disappear the next night as if by magic. Let's see tonight. Closing time, midnight (except Pride 23:00)

And still pony up for $100,000 Covid medical insurance?
-
Let's keep in mind that Oxford/AZ are selling the vaccine for 3 pounds per shot.
-
Yes. Last night they were putting Chinese decorations outside but still closed.

In answer to the original question, here is a sort of copy of a message that I posted elsewhere, regarding a visit to Silom soi4 last Sunday. Sorry if these are not the sort of bars you were enquiring about. I visited soi4 on Sunday night. It was quiet with the following establishments open:- Balcony -- with a few terrace tables occupied and half a dozen customers inside. Telephone -- with few customers. Connections -- quite busy for a small bar Pride -- several customers. Bas Bar -- open. Banana terrace and Banana Room Club (upstairs) -- apparently open Fork and Cork -- open. 'G's German Thai Restaurant. Adam Massage -- open with staff sitting outside. Tattoo business above the now closed Welcome bar. (side shutter open) Closed -- Strangers Bar Jupiter Welcome Bar Sports on 4 Hugs Bar I went to Balcony and was shown a rough of a new Vegetarian page for their menu. 30% discount on all food. I was told that the entire soi was busy on Friday night. Quieter on Saturday and Sunday. Coming Friday, is the first day of the official three day Chinese New Year holiday. Let's hope for a busy and happy long weekend.

Telephone's front page website says "Where friends have been meeting since 1987".

Most of the pubs in soi4 have restaurant licenses.
