ARRIVAL I've been flying business class on my outbound journey for years. It's quite a long journey from Europe, and I love arriving in Thailand refreshed. This way, I can immediately dive into the sodomy that is Patpong, full of energy. I also find that by flying business class, the holiday begins during the trip instead of only when you arrive at your destination. Another advantage: you can use priority lane at immigration. After all, the lines at passport control can sometimes be very crowded. While boarding my 2nd flight/leg in Doha, I spotted a well-dressed, well-built guy. The kind you know right away is gay. A shirt that was way, way, way too tight around his muscular torso. But I did have something delicious to look at and fantasize about. And who did I meet on Grindr hours later after arriving? Of course... This guy. Haha. I chatted with him for a bit and admitted to him that I find him very attractive. But he's attracted to everything I'm not (younger, muscular, etc.), so unfortunately, nothing came out of it. But... It's a small gay world. Photos from his Grindr profile, his head cropped for privacy reasons. The first photo shows his style on the plane. Then you'll understand the gaydar that tripped me up. The second photo, just because it's hot, him shirtless. Just before leaving, I realized I'd made a mistake in the booking dates for my first hotel in Bangkok. As a result, I had a hotel for nights 2 and 3, but hadn't yet booked the first night. The last-minute prices for the luxurious Meridian Hotel, where I'd treated myself to two nights to kick off my vacation, were very high. So I decided to look for a cheaper option in Silom for one night and then move to the Meridian Hotel on day two. I found a very good deal on booking.com for Squirrel House, a relatively new hotel in the building that used to house the BBB Inn. I often prefer newer hotels. They still look fresh, are often clean, and have a modern, bright interior. I remember several other forum members having stayed there as well. See: I found old photos of the hotel on Google Maps when it was still the BBB Inn. It's funny to see that they advertised the hotel back then with a photo of a staff member lying on a hotel bed. I wonder if any members here ever found a staff member lying on their bed back then? The location is, of course, ideal. Within walking distance of all the bars and massage shops in Patpong. At least, within walking distance for most of us. @Olddaddy would definitely take a motorbike taxi... I think someone on this forum already mentioned the hotel's lack of an elevator. And of course, lucky me, my room was on the third floor... I had to lug my heavy suitcase up the stairs. The room is very basic. The bed is a bit too firm for my liking. And it's quite noisy. I hear a lot of noise from others walking in the hallway, from other rooms, and from slamming doors. The renovation of the adjacent (former) Take a Nap Hostel is currently also causing noise pollution. In short: it was nice to try a new hotel, and thankfully it was only for one night, but I won't be booking this one again.

I've been going to Thailand every year since 2012. There were two years I even went twice. I know, I can't quite match some other forum members here in that respect. Like @vinapu, who suddenly shows up unannounced in Bangkok about every two months (I like to exaggerate). But I'd still call myself a seasoned Thailand-goer. For the first two years, I was amazed and disbelieving by the shows full of nudity and sex, and the ease with which you could select and "buy" boys to go with you via a number tag on their underwear. But those days are long gone. You don't surprise or shock me that easily anymore. I also think the shows have become less explicit in general. Of course, there are still plenty of "big dicks" on parade during showtime. But... I don't encounter a nude underwater show or the acrobatic fuck scenes where the boys hang in rings live on stage in the trapege anymore. But I still enjoy visiting different boy bars and looking for the nicest, most handsome guy who's also into the things you're looking for. In short: I'm back in Thailand! First a week in Bangkok, then a week in Pattaya, and then another week in Bangkok. I'm going to try to write an interesting trip report

Apparently new businesses are coming to the complex... This was posted in a Facebook group. The sign reads "What is going to happen here?" and is attached to the building next to Candy Bar.

We all get older... I wouldn't compare my body today to my body from 10 years ago...

And by "price" you mean giving him some money or... was this gay senior officer a naughty pervert...?

According to the overview on the website below, December 5th is indeed a public holiday, but because it is not a religious day, there is no alcohol ban. https://www.bkmagazine.com/city-living/there-are-more-thailand-holidays-next-year-and-here-are-dry-days-you-should-know/

I saw in several comments that some of us will be in Bangkok in early December... Maybe it would be fun to plan a big meetup together one evening and visit a few boy bars? I was thinking of Friday evening, December 5th, because according to their own posts, the following forum members will be in Bangkok then: @jason1975 @spoon @paulsf @silverwolf76 Who wants to join?

As can be seen in this sort clip on Facebook, the guys at Atlas Bar seem to be more on the twink than muscle side of the spectrum now... https://www.facebook.com/share/r/18evEkSWht/

Perhaps we could use this thread now and in the future to announce upcoming visits to Thailand, if you'd enjoy meeting other forum members. So, I'll start: I'm traveling to the Kingdom in less than two weeks! Nov 19 - 25 Bangkok Nov 25 - Dec 1 Pattaya Dec 1 - 7 Bangkok Let's see if there are any other forum members around those dates.

Agata Hotel I stayed several times already and will be back in a few weeks from now... Always good experience staying there. Best rates and availability via their own site: https://www.theagatepattaya.com/ If no available rooms show up on their site for your dates, send them an e-mail. I always managed to secure a room, even when online booking showed no vacancies.

November/December: Grand Light Festival Bangkok
emiel1981 replied to emiel1981's topic in Gay Bangkok
Boat trips to visit and see the light festival can now be booked: https://chaophrayatouristboat-online.globaltix.com/attraction/vijit-sightseeing-cruise-2025-73834 These are the cheap options, just a cruise. No dinner or drink service on board. Other options with other operators might be available also. -
I have bad memories of these stairs combined with rain... Once, the stairs got wet and slippery from the rain. A boy walking behind me slipped, taking me down with him. Fortunately, the damage wasn't too bad, but after a few days, I had a huge bruise on my lower back and thigh.

I thought there was no prostitution in Thailand. At least, that's what I always hear the government and official Thai institutions say...

First of all, thank you for your honest post and sharing your story. It's always interesting and nice to hear the follow-up to a story, even though it's obviously not as rosy as we all hoped for you. But as you yourself said: if we were realistic, we would all have assumed that sooner or later the request for financial support would come... And I can completely understand that because that request for help initially seemed to materialize, you might have had some hope that things would be different with him than in most cases... It's good that you realize you shouldn't keep transferring money. Because then you'll likely continue to receive a never-ending stream of requests for money. Keep your wits about you and don't let your emotions get the better of you and tempt you to make another payment. Woody is a really nice guy, so I'm sure you'll enjoy the rest of your journey. I look forward to your future updates.

Good to see @macaroni21 is blogging again about Thailand/Bangkok. Also liked his updates in this post: https://shamelessmacktwo.travel.blog/2025/11/03/just-six-months-and-so-many-changes/

Agreed. As long as the various venues can find a new location, it's fine. And hopefully, it's a new location where many gay bars are together and not scattered across the area. Most of the (show/boy) bars that used to be on Soi Twilight have found a new spot in Patpong. But even though they're still together there, the atmosphere is unfortunately nowhere near as good as the old Soi Twilight location. Hopefully, there's a soi in Silom/Patpong where gay venues can gather together and have a good atmosphere. There was a rumor that several gay bars/clubs would open where Moonlight is. I'm curious.

If you are still in Pattaya and don't mind having to take Bolt or Grab to try out another massage shop: Bliss Pattaya might be nice. The facilities look good, clean en modern. The boys in their line account are hot. But unfortunately I didn't read anybody from the forum going there yet. All info about location and contact details in this post:

So it will be a big hit or miss when it comes to if you are really looking for things like kissing, getting BJ or even fuck.

I'm doing some research on various massage shops to decide which one to visit when I'm back in Bangkok in a few weeks. Because I like the newer, more luxurious shops, I'm interested in both KLOVER and History of Massage. And of course, both shops have some very hot, attractive guys on their websites! https://klovermassages.com/en https://historyofmassages.com/en/services The websites do look very similar, by the way. Does anyone know if the shops are linked? I haven't bothered to check if the same guys are listed at both shops. History of Massage is easier to reach (direct skytrain) from Silom than KLOVER, where a taxi is necessary. This review on YouTube is very clear: extra services are available at KLOVER, but only a handjob or body-to-body. No sex. That does match some of the reviews I've read on this forum about both KLOVER and History of Massage. Although it seems @msclwrshp had more luck with KLOVER... See: So... I'm actually wondering what the differences are between the two shops, or are they essentially the same in terms of quality and what you can expect? And: what can you actually expect there? It doesn't look like these are shops where you can easily inquire about Top/Bottom, Gay/Male, for example. The quality of the masseurs (hotties!) makes me consider a visit, but the lack of a "guarantee" of full-service extras or at least a blowjob makes me hesitate. Any views on this?

Sounds like a very good experience. I'm researching which massage shops to visit for my upcoming trip to Thailand. Several forum members recommended Prestige. They also mentioned that, while extra services are often available, the shops themselves don't promote them. This makes it difficult to be sure in advance that you'll choose a bottom who is willing to provide full service. Would you @nandos mind sharing who you had the massage with? For more discretion, you can, of course, send me a private message.
